Kid's Activity: A Lesson in Civil Rights for Children

Return to activity: Ask your child how they felt to not get a treat while someone else did only because of the color they were wearing. If more than one child, ask the one that DID receive the cookies how he felt as well. Now, give a treat to everyone that did not receive one before. Give lots of hugs and love all around. Explain that it wasn't right for you to show favoritism to one over another based on the color they are wearing, just as it was wrong for people to be discriminated against for the color of their skin.

Optional Activity: Take your child on a ride on a bus!
