Recipe: Creamy Ginger Carrot Dip

Creamy Carrot Ginger DipEverything's better with dip! Ask any toddler!

Our mild carrot puree's bright color attracts your tiny grazer, and the taste brings brings him back for more. Add the wholesomeness factor and it helps build your toddler's healthy, growing body.

This dip is perfect for toddlers who love to dunk!

Serve it with whole-grain pita bits or steamed veggies for the younger set.

Older kids (and adults) might enjoy dipping carrot sticks, pepper and cucumber slices. But we think this dip goes with pretty much everything!

Creamy Ginger Carrot Dip

Prep time: 5 minutes | Total time: 20 minutes | Yield: 3/4 cup


• 2 medium-size carrots, sliced
• 1/2-inch piece ginger, sliced
• 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon curry powder
• 1/4 cup plain yogurt
• 2 tablespoons olive oil
• 1/2 teaspoon white vinegar
• 1/2 teaspoon honey or sugar (optional)


Steam the carrots and ginger over boiling water until the carrots are tender, about 10 minutes. Cool slightly and blend with the remaining ingredients in a blender or food processor until smooth.

Set aside some for today. Freeze the rest in ice cube trays. Once solid, bag in zip lock baggies and thaw as needed.

Cook's Note

I make yogurt and pureed veggies for my toddler and preschooler. By the way they gobble up the goodies, it's obvious this dip's a hit! The kids scoop up the dip with bread bits, oaty-o's, other veggies and even their fingers. It's always good to have plenty of napkins, just in case they decide to go "swimming."
