Recipe: Fruit and Veggie Smoothie

smoothieSpinach in a smoothie!? You bet! Baby spinach leaves may have no taste on their own, but they donate a power punch of vitamins, minerals and fiber. Won't my smoothie be green? Nope! Blueberries mask the color while the strawberries easily influence the flavor.

Besides tasting great, our fruit and veggie smoothie is loaded with nutritious ingredients that expectant moms and their babies need. Are you troubled with morning sickness? At the end of the article, we've suggested ingredients that could ease a queasy stomach.

Fruit and Veggie Smoothie

Makes: 1 huge serving
Time: 5 minutes


• 1 cup frozen strawberries
• 1 cup frozen blueberies
• 1/2 cup milk (substitute plain Greek yogurt for extra protein)
• 1/2 cup orange juice
• 1/2 cup baby spinach leaves


Combine all ingredients and blend in your blender until smooth and frothy. Enjoy!

Try a touch of fresh ginger or mint leaf in this creamy blend. It can help ease a queasy stomach.
