Whether your family sees Easter as religious celebration or a day to welcome to the coming spring, everyone looks forward to gathering with friends and family and the wonderful feast that comes along with the holiday.
The kids are excited about Easter bunnies, Easter baskets and egg hunts, but the adults know where the real greatness waits...on the dinner table!
Use these helpful recipes to create your Easter "Eggs-travaganza"!
Since Easter marks the start of the spring season, this meal features fresh, colorful, seasonal vegetables like asparagus and baby greens. What will be on your table?
Prosciutto-Wrapped Asparagus Bundles: Turn every day asparagus into a crowd pleaser by wrapping the spears in prosciutto and baking until crispy.
Plum Glazed Ham: Give your traditional baked ham a modern update. Plum preserves, fresh citrus, ginger and crushed red pepper come together to liven it up and you can have it in the oven in under 20 minutes.
Parmesan Scalloped Potatoes: Holidays shout out for a special potato dish like parmesan scalloped potatoes. For a lighter option, serve fingerling potatoes seasoned with garlic and herbs like rosemary or thyme.
Leafy Green Salad: Spring greens like watercress, baby red and green leaf or baby arugula with a light vinaigrette dressing treats your guests to a taste of the season.
Glazed Baby Carrots: If the Easter bunny left any for dinner, steam a pound of baby carrots for about five minutes or until tender. Melt together a tablespoon honey, two tablespoons butter and a dash of ginger. Add to the carrots and shake the pan to coat.
Dinner Rolls: Would a family meal be complete without the wonderful aroma of fresh bread? Try this do-ahead recipe that's truly mouth-watering!
Piña Colada Cheesecake Bars: Similar to lemon bars, but with a touch of coconut these bars make the perfect Easter dessert. For extra fun, arrange on a platter with cocktail umbrellas and a scattering of wrapped chocolate eggs.
