Okay, so where do I begin? I guess I will start with an explanation of my possible fertility problem.

In the process of doing research for my thyroid appointment, I found out that I have what is called a luteal phase defect. A normal luteal phase is supposed to be 13-15 days long. My LP’s are averaging 9-12 days long. I made an appointment for this coming Tuesday with my OB. I am not wasting any time whatsoever anymore. I am hoping he will put me on Clomid to get me to ovulate at the right time.

Now on to my biggest worry: My family doctor seems to think my thyroid levels are messed up again. I have all the normal symptoms and upon physical examination, she found my heart rate very slow. The part that is worrying me is that the last time I saw my OB (before pg and m/c) to discuss fertility, he told me he didn't want to see me until my thyroid was under control for 6-8 months. I am afraid that if my levels are not right he won't treat my LP defect.

So, I have scheduled a Reproductive Endocrinologist appointment for April 29th. If he does decide to treat my LP defect then I will just end up going to a regular Endocrinologist. In 2 days I will know if my infertility will be treated or not.
