This week brought us revelations that Gwyneth Paltrow still bathes with her kids. No big deal -- don't we all at some point? It's called multi-tasking. However, her daughter, Apple (we know, unusual name to say the least) is 7 and Moses is 5. Apparently, Gwyneth tells Harpers Bazaar that she enjoys their evening routine which includes her version of "3 men in a tub" only the "men" are her and the two kids.
What do you think is too old for a parent to bathe with their kids? Does it make a difference if the parent is an opposite gender parent?
Moving on, Bravo recently announced that the "Real Housewives of Miami" will begin shooting this month for its second season. Surprised? So were we. This segment of the incredibly successful "Housewives" franchise garnered only a fraction of the ratings that the other ones get. However, it was rich on drama.
New cast members have not been announced but apparently, some of the originals remain (we dare you to remember the name of even one). What you can count on is that they are rich, well connected and have an awful lot of time on their hands. Stay tuned...
In "what are we supposed to do with that information" news, Madonna's daughter, Lourdes shaved the sides of her head. She wanted to have a blue streak but decided against it. Now you know. And you heard it here first. Probably.
According to People.com, new mom, Beyonce is now "flaunting" her post-baby body. Don't worry -- as much as we are happy for her and wish her the very best, we are not showing it here. You're welcome.
On a more serious note, regardless of where you stand on the issue, we were rather impressed by a recent statement Ellen DeGeneres made on her talk show concerning the One Million Moms' call for JCPenney to remove her as spokeswoman. Said Ellen, in part:
"I stand for honesty, equality, kindness, compassion, treating people they way you want to be treated and helping those in need. To me, those are traditional values."
She ended her statement by adding,"Oh, I also believe in dance."
Hey, us too!
In international news, yesterday, Angelina Jolie had a meeting with German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle in Berlin. They sat down for tea to discuss her role with the role with the UNHCR.
But that is not the most important part of this story. The most interesting part of this story is that Angelina wore a pretty white outfit.
The next day, she took the kids to Legoland in Germany. Apparently, she likes Legoland, having gone to the one in England as well. Oh, and she wore black pants and a black shirt. Good to know, right?
And in welcome to the world news, congratulations to actress Marla Sokoloff and hubby, Alec Puro, on the birth of their daughter, Elliotte Anne Puro, at 8:05 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8 in California. We know it would probably make this precious little girl's life easier if they switched the first and middle names but they didn't ask us.
Baby Elliotte Anne, the first for the couple, weighed 7 lbs. and the entire family is said to be doing well, happy and completely in love.
If you are disappoionted that this edition does not contain news about what the Kardashians are up to or what Suri Cruise is getting for Valentine's Day, fear not. There's always next week!
