Like so many celebrities, Christina Aguilera has been under massive scrutiny because she is a little heavier than she had formerly been.
The 5-time Grammy winner who's currently starring on the hit NBC series "The Voice," is speaking out against the critics who claim she's let herself go.
Christina, the mother of 3-year-old Max, tells Access Hollywood that she loves her new, fuller frame and wants everyone to know that she has no issues with her body at all. How much do we love that?!
Cinema Blend reported the "Beautiful" singer told reporters at Friday’s Television Critics Association that she's very confident about her body image no matter what people say.
"I've been in this for a long time. I came out on the scene when I was 17 years old. You can never be too much of anything. You can never be too perfect, too thin, too curvy, too voluptuous, this, that. I've been on all sides of the spectrum...Every female in this business at one time or another has had criticism...and I'm always a risk taker too."
Christina went on to say,
"As long as I'm happy in my own skin, that's all I need, that's all the confirmation I need. I'm happy where I am, I have a boyfriend that loves my body, I love my body, my son is healthy and happy. That's all that matters."
Ms. Aguilera wants to pass this message along to her fans, especially her "mentees."
"Being in a position to coach these young girls, is really a great thing for me to be able to share that with them, and also sharing my highs and lows along the way. I'm very open on the show about all of that."
We applaud Christina's confidence and her desire to share her message of positive body image with her fans!
Season 2 of "The Voice" premieres on February 5 on NBC after the Super Bowl.
