Are you one of the millions of viewers who tuned in to last night's season finale of "Sister Wives" on TLC? With ratings that seemed unhurt by the NFL, 60 Minutes or even the Kardashian's on "E", 4th wife, Robyn, gave birth to Kody Brown's 17th child, Solomon.
Those familiar with the show know that it isn't always smooth sailing between the wives, although for the most part, they all claim to be singing "Kumbayaa" and that jealousy rarely raises it's green head. Really?
Throughout the season (and seasons' past), there has been comment after comment, especially about fourth wife Robyn, and about how the ever revered Kody seems to "favor" Robyn (don't get us started on how much everyone adores Kody -- especially, well, Kody).
We really want to know what the first three wives, Meri, Christine and Janelle, really think about welcoming Robyn and Kody's new child into the fold. Apparently, they're not all thrilled and smiles may be forced.
The foursome has started a "going-out-to-lunch" tradition to maintain their friendship since they now live in different houses and they all assure Robyn that they will be there for her in any way she needs them. Awwww. They further assure her that Kody is an awesome birth coach, to which Robyn replies that they are the reason he is so great. Awwww again.
Later, Christine makes a "peace offering" to Robyn because "my treatment of her has not been accepting and welcoming in the least," she explains. "Being jealous of her, what it really did, it made her feel like she wasn't welcome. That I didn't want her as a sister wife. I never meant that." Actually, she didn't seem outwardly mean during the season but maybe we didn't see that. Makes a person wonder...
Janelle, on the other hand, admits she's not quite as excited as Christine is about the new baby. Wait, didn't Christine just say she hadn't been excited? As the saga continues, Janelle says she will probably not get up in the middle of the night for the birth. That doesn't sound very sisterly, does it. Tsk Tsk.
Now, first wife Meri, has suddenly become very close to Robyn and is very excited for little Solomon to arrive. Meri reveals that she has the close sister-wife relationship with Robyn that she never had with the other sister-wives. Ouch. I wonder how that will go over when this episode airs. To be a fly on that wall!
Finally, two weeks overdue, Solomon arrived, healthy and we must say, quite the cutie-patootie.
If you haven't watched the episode yet, here's the spoiler alert:
Robyn asks to speak to Meri privately. Meri has been unable to have more children since having her one daughter who is about 16 years old. Robyn says, "I want to be your surrogate. I know you're going to have to take some time to think about it, but I'm offering it whole-heartedly." Meri says, "Wow!"
Tears, tears, tears. Hugs, hugs, hugs. End of season. Will the show come back for another season? What do you think? TLC doesn't have Kate Gosselin anymore. How much grosser can the "Hoarders" get? "Extreme Couponing" can't offer this kind of emotion, can it?
What did you think of the episode? What do you think of the Browns? Could you imagine sharing your husband? Let us know what you think in the comments!
