Heath's Journey 1/13/09

This past week has been crazy. I have never been on the phone so much. On the 30th I got Heath set up with a new company for his equipment or at least I thought I did. THey said they would call the 31st to set up a time of delivery. As our insurance was to change on the first of the year.

On the 31st I get a phone call asking if I could make it to the 2nd before the delivery as they are swamped with new people that need equipment. I say no problem we only just had a delivery before x-mas. I did not need anything but just wanted to get him transferred over to a company that would take our new insurance.

The 6th I tried to call the apnea center to get his apnea results from the past 2 weeks, because he had an appointment with the cranial facial Dr on the 8th. We handing in the machine on the 19th but had not heard anything yet. But I have been told by people that they sometimes don't call you unless it is bad news. Well his file is empty!!! So I had to call his old company to find out what happened but our respiratory therapist was off until the 8th. The apnea center called me first thing on the 8th and the machine from Dec5th-19th was broken. I carried that thing around and it alarmed all the time and they where unable to read it!!! So I canceled his cranial facial visit no reason to go in pay a co-pay without anything to talk about. Rescheduled it for the 15th.

So now I start calling the new equipment people to bring us out new stuff as I need to have the new stuff now so that the old company can come and get his apnea alarm from the 19t-current and read it so I did have some info on the 15ht to take to the Dr. It is the 8th at this point so I figure I have a week to get it worked out. Well they can't find my sons info I have to give it all over and then I was told it would deliver on the 9th.

8th comes and goes and no equipment call about delivery time. So I called and find out no one knows what I am talking about because we need to have his Rx filled for the new insurance to fill it. They sent them to the pedi by fax and the pedi sent them back by 7pm. The 8th I called them back and was told it was going out at 1pm. 5:30pm comes and no show of the guy so we call after hours. They can't find his working orders so they can't bring me anything!!! The manager promises I will have stuff first thing in the am because not only now do I need it so the other company can get there stuff on Monday but Heath is getting low on o2 because at this point we have not had a delivery since before x-mas and the old company can't get me more because of the insurance change. I give them a peace of my mind at this point the delivery on the 2nd has turned into the 10th and we still have noting.

After many phone calls the guy came at 3pm but with only o2. And told that my machines are going to be dropped off Monday! Monday at 11am I called them and was like this is not first thing and get some run around and demand it comes ASAP. I got my stuff in about an hour. Called the old company to get there stuff and why I need it read ASAP. They came but not until 10:20pm and only took the apnea alarm not all the rest of our equipment.

Today I am calling them and the apnea center and our first company tiring to get the info from the download of that machine. I need it for his ENT Dr today at 1:30pm or I have to wait until the 17th of Feb to get another ENT appointment. ENT they just called me yesterday with the one today as someone canceled it. We have been trying to see them since we left the hospital on Dec 5th so I had to take the appointment and just hope we have the apnea reading in time. Thank god Peter has an after school program I can use if I am not back to get him in time.

I will be so happy when this week is over. I hope I have some answers about Heath. I am not even going to try to get the first company to get there stuff if they want it they can come and get it I can't keep staying home for weeks at a time so they can arrive whenever they feel like it. Deliver is more of a PITA then if we could just got get it ourselves on my free time.

Did I mention I am trying to go back to work during all this too? Lucky still from home, until after Heaths 3 month well exam. I kept Tessa out of school today just so it was one less thing I had to do, we will eat lunch and then head to see the ENT. Pray for us that the apnea alarm gets read in time.
