Heath's Journey 2/10/09

I hate to do it but this is what the programs are for right??
I have been out of work due to Heaths medical issues. We saved for me to take a month off of work but even that savings went fast with all the co-pays. I went for emergency food stamps while there they suggested I try and get him state health benefits to cover the cost that our insurance is not covering. It is over $300 a month out of our pocket for is respiratory supply and that is not counting his hospital stay or all the co-pays from many Dr. visit to specialist we see each month. They had us applied for the family to get it but only Heath qualified (DH makes to much for everyone to get on) that is not a big deal since DH does have insurance for us. I am back to work as of this week but only 8 hours a week. We did not find out yet if we are going to get any food stamps and if not that is ok because I feel blessed to have any help. I kind of feel guilty using it since we do have insurance and so many don't but we pay taxes and everyone says this is what the programs are for people that need them for things they can't control. The office also wants me to file for SS benefits for him since he can't got to childcare at this point but I just don't feel right about sitting at home and collecting it when there is nothing wrong with me.
