The former presidential candidate John Edwards has been acquitted on charges regarding use of his campaign funds. The federal prosecutor decided last week not to try him on the remaining federal charges against him, what's next?
For Edwards that's uncertain, but for, his former mistress and mother to their four-year-old child, Rielle Hunter, is ready to cash in! It doesn't sound like the possibility of Edwards going to federal prison was of great concern to her or Edwards.
According to her soon to be released memoir, when facing impending indictment, he calmly told her that he would likely end up in a low-security prison in Virginia, "more like a country club" than a jail. She assured him that she and their daughter would go there to be close to him.
Slated to be released on June 26, her memoir was reportedly purchased by the Associated Press and will be promoted by ABC. If you watch that network at all, get ready to hear a lot about it. The "tell-all" memoir -- "What Really Happened: John Edwards, Our Daughter, and Me" -- will be advertised by ABC as though it were the event of the year.
First, Hunter will sit for an interview with Chris Cuomo of ABC's "20/20," which will air June 22. Portions of that interview will be on "Good Morning America," "World News with Diane Sawyer" and ABC News Radio. Then on June 26, Hunter is scheduled to appear on "Good Morning America," "Nightline" and "The View."
She describes Edwards as a doting father when he's around but that his obligations to his other children curtail their time together. The book also contains several pictures of Edwards and their child together and Hunter says, "He is a great dad to her when he is with her."
