Thanks to a courageous little girl and her brave mom, there is one less child molester roaming the streets of New York city today.
The mom, whose identity is anonymous, was walking down a busy street with her 10-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son when a man passed by.
Her daughter excitedly told her mom, "Mommy! That man touched me!" Mom asked her if she was sure and where had he touched her. When her daughter showed her that he had touched her in her private area, mom sprung into action!
She took out her cellphone and followed the pedophile down the crowded street. She then managed to take a photo from 10 feet away that showed his face. As soon as she had the image, she took the incriminating photo to the 13th police precinct station house.
Cops searched the neighborhood and spotted the man lurking nearby, making the arrest. He was charged with sexual abuse and child endangerment. The child molester is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
As it turns out, the man was a convicted sex offender named Timothy Gillette. He was released 20 years ago after doing time for sexually assaulting two girls, ages 7 and 9.
It's chilling to think about how many children he has molested in the past 20 years! But thanks to this mom, he will no longer be able to molest any more children.
What would you have done? Would your first instinct be to go after him, call the police, both?
