Hi ladies! Ah yes, pictures! I will take them today or tomorrow... the nursery is all done ( ) with the exception of one piece of furniture that I have to get DH to move to a different spot. I'm excited to show you what it looks like in there!
Today we went to our almost-37 week appointment. Baby's looking great! The midwife felt around for his head, and said that he's ENGAGED! OMG, I was so not ready to hear that! We read up on it when we got home (we knew what it meant but not all the details), and found out that that means he's in my pelvis, locked into position for labor.
She said she could do an internal to find out exactly what station he's at, but I declined. It could still be another 2-3 weeks before anything really happens, but before we left today she said, "Well, I'll see you guys Tuesday at your next appointment -- unless I see you at the birthing center before then!" And she wasn't kidding!
I just gave a really nervous laugh! Tim thinks he's going to come within the next 7-10 days, but I still think it's going to be right around my due date or maybe a little later. I am not ready for him to come just yet!
But then again, I don't know that I'll ever feel 100% ready, so I might as well just get used to it, eh? I think the midwife annoyed the baby with all that poking, because afterwards he was pushing down so much and I had a series of really painful contractions! I thought, "OMG! She put me into labor!"
Tim and I had a good laugh too, because I couldn't get into the car (for some reason I just could NOT pick up my legs/feet to get in) during those contractions and I started to panic and think that I was paralyzed! I am a total moron!
Anyway, the baby has been riding even lower now and it's really, really hard to walk. After she felt around she said, "Well, yeah, that's because you probably feel like you have a bowling ball between your legs!" It makes sense now that I know he's engaged and ready to rock and roll (almost)! I am so excited.
After we went to our appointment we went shopping and got the baby a bunch of cute things. We got a few Halloween accessories and also this adorable picture frame that allows you to archive his pictures all the way from newborn to 1 year. Ever since I got pregnant, I've wanted to get one of those, so I was really happy with that purchase.
I have major baby fever -- I just cannot wait to meet our little guy! Tim was so cute, he was like, "I'm already proud of him! I'm going to be one of those annoying dads who always brag about their kids!"
I told him it wasn't annoying, it was cute! This is our first baby, of course we're going to be over-the-top excited about every little thing!
Before I forget, here are some almost-37 week pictures!
