Sandy's Surprise -- Nursery or Finals?

Read All of Sandy's Surprise -- A Pregnancy Journal

For the past week or so I have been really eager to get started on the baby's room and get it all put together. Then tonight, while I was in the shower, I started scrubbing away at the tile because I wanted it to be clean. Could it be the start of a nesting phase?

While we were on our trip, Tim and I decided that we would get baby things bought and ready in August. I am also going to start on his room SOON, as soon as I am done with finals (they're this Thursday - ughhhh). I am trying to find crib sheets online, as well as some cute knick knacks for his room. Getting to the 7 month mark just really kicked things into gear for me! Not too much longer now!

In other pregnancy news, I had my first leg cramp while we were on our babymoon! It was not very fun. It was the night after I walked around downtown for 45 minutes. I was sleeping and switched positions, and woke up really fast!! My leg felt like it was on fire! I had no idea leg cramps could be that painful. I couldn't walk for a long time after that, not even the next morning when I woke up for the day. But the jacuzzi really helped! I was so glad we had that in our room.

Also, it seems that my nausea is coming back. Not as bad as it was in the first trimester (thank goodness!) but it's still yucky. It hits when I first wake up and late at night. Drinking water during the day really aggravates it too, so unfortunately I've been consuming more kool-aid lately.

On Tuesday we have our first official prenatal appointment with the new midwife. I am excited for Tim to meet her, because he hasn't yet. I did a consultation with her a month or so ago and got a really good vibe. I hope it remains because otherwise I'm going to be in trouble! She is one of our last options for a natural childbirth.

Tomorrow I'm going to call the doula that we interviewed and tell her we want to go ahead and use her services. I am so excited because it means free breastfeeding support! I'm going to start going to the local LLL meetings soon too, and she's the leader so that'll be nice to have a familiar face there.

Hmm, I think I've covered everything! It feels good to be back and writing in my journal!
