Celebrity Chatter: Selma Blair Talks About her Postpartum Hair Loss

Selma Blair 201139-year-old Selma Blair recently gave birth to her cutie, Arthur Saint. Although she's overjoyed with her new son, Selma's apparently experiencing a few side effects from the birth of her bundle of joy.

What makes this remarkable isn't that she is experiencing these not-so-glamorous side effects, but that she's so openly talking about them! What a treat for the rest of us mere "mortals"!

In a recent interview with People magazine, Blair said,

"This is so not glamorous, but it's true: I need to take longer showers so that I can collect the hair that falls out and throw it away so I don't clog the drain. Why do actresses never talk about that?"

Blair said that her hair loss began when her baby was about three months old. Selma won't wear extensions so she told People, "Selma's going to be bald."

This isn't the first time that Blair's been refreshingly candid about her postpartum life. Last September, the actress revealed that she hadn't lost a single pound since leaving the hospital in July.

"I still weigh the exact same number. I haven't really been focusing on that at all, because I've been running around to different things like Toronto (International Film Festival) and Venice (Film Festival)."

Needless to say, fans are overwhelmingly supportive of Blair's openness regarding these not so glamorous details of being a new mommy. We think it's safe to assume that new moms are probably high on the list of fans who are grateful to hear Blair's open acceptance of these postpartum realities.

How do you feel about Selma Blair's refreshing candor? Wouldn't it be nice if other celebrities shared more openly about what they experience postpartum?
