Comments on A strange new journey

Hi I'm Liz. I am about 5 weeks into my first and have pcos as well. I am so very nervous about miscarrying as well. And no one mentioned the never ending heartburn!

I must agree with everyone above about the weight. There are lots of people our size that are healthy. It is all in the lifestyle.

Hey,
I also have PCOS and was told I would never have kids. We tried fertility treatments as well and they didn't work for me. 10 years of trying and I'm pregnant and wouldn't even have known if it wasn't for a great nurse at the hospital who did a pregnancy test before an x-ray. I'm sure it's because I've lost 20 pounds in the past 6 months and I was taking Metformin. That and God decided it was time!

I agree with one of the ladies above...don't worry so much about your weight, but about the little one inside of you. Eat healthy and take care of you and the baby. It will all be worth it!

Hi Melissa. I just wanted to reassure you that most of your feelings are normal due to raging hormones. You mentioned that your clothes are fitting tighter, and they should. You have a little person growing inside of you. I know it's still very early in your pregnancy, but your uterus is already expanding.

Try not to focus on what others think about your appearance. Just think about that precious little one growing inside of you. Trust me, the minute you see his/her face, you'll see that it was all worth it. I hope that this helps. Have a happy and healthy pregnancy!!

BTW, I have PCOS too. After giving birth to my daughter, my hormones were regulated for more than two years. I was able to conceive my second baby (I'm 9 weeks now) without medication.

Hey there, I am also a Melissa and am about 6 weeks pregnant. I read your blog and felt a connection. I am also a plus-sized woman and and really hating some of the symptoms of pregnancy, but am glad I'm finally pregnant. It took my husband and I almost a year!

I have one question though, I have a good friend who is trying to get pregnant and also has PCOS and is on fertility drugs and is having a hell of a time trying to conceive. I was just wondering if you have a bit of advice that will maybe ease her frustrations?

Hi Im Amanda. I am currently pregnant with my first child. I am only about 4 weeks. I have been very tired and my morning sickness is kicking in and it sucks really bad. I feel like I have no energy at all.

We are going through a lot right now because I have pancreatitis and have been seeing a gastro doctor. They are thinking it is my gallbladder causing the infection. If it gets worse they will have to do emergency surgery and remove my gallbladder, which can be a high risk for me and the baby.
