Tristine's Triumph -- Entry 37

I had my final physical therapy appointment this week. It went rather quick. I haven't been able to keep up with the harder exercises, but I have been doing my best to do what light exercises I can. My therapist was so nice though and said I can call her anytime if I have questions or concerns.

Rather than fight insurance for more appointments, I felt comfortable with just keeping in contact via telephone. I only have 2 months left in this pregnancy. There isn't much more she can offer me with exercises other than to do what I have been doing. And with an increase in discharge I have been experiencing, we both agreed to talk to the doctor before doing more exercises.

The sudden increase in discharge scared me a little. I never have lost a plug before but I had my suspicions that this is what I have experienced this Monday.

I contacted my doctor about it. Well, I tried to anyway. He wasn't in the office so I asked to speak to someone who could answer my questions. The nurse couldn't tell me for sure what it was, but she said it wasn't anything to worry about. Increase in vaginal discharge during the third trimester is normal in pregnancy. The cerclage could have loosened up some of the mucus plug. Since I wasn't experiencing any itching or burning or foul odor, they were not concerned about infection.

Just to be on the safe side, I called my doctor this morning regarding what I experienced. Since it had stopped after 24 hours, they were not worried either. But they were glad I called to tell them what was going on, especially since I won't be seeing them for another 3 weeks as I finish my rounds with the on-call doctors in the office.
