I may be jumping the gun here. In fact, I am really jumping the gun here, but I am already so excited.
My SIL, who is 17, came to me on Friday, telling me that she hasn't had her period in 4.5 months. I had her take a test, and it was positive. After the crying, she told me that she wasn't going to get an abortion, she was going to give the baby up for adoption. By this time, DH was home and he told his sister that we wanted to be considered for the adoptive parents. She looked at him, and her whole demeanor changed. She said, "Yeah, that's exactly what we'll do."
I am so nervous, for so many reasons. We told the in-laws that she was pg, 15.5 weeks along, and they did not take it well. In fact, she's staying here, for the time being. We have to get her to the doctor; we need to get a lawyer. The sperm donor is harrassing her, saying that he doesn't want the responsibilities of paternity, and it is upsetting her. I personally want to jump up and down, and yell "Hooray!". If he remains in the current mindset, things are going to be so much easier for everyone involved. But, if he continues this behavior, we'll have to get a protective order.
I am worried about having 3 children (going from one-on-one to zone defense), I'm worried about having two children almost within a year apart. (Her EDD is a day before mine was in February). We'll have to buy a bigger car!!! And how will I explain this to my 6-year-old?
And I am so excited...
I think it may be a girl. DH thinks it may be twins. We both agreed last night that this is fate.
