Hi Ladies! I'm Sandy, 22 and DH is 23. We are going to be adopting a little girl from India! After going back and forth between domestic and India, we chose India. This is definitely not going to be our last adoption, so it was merely a matter of prioritizing. :D We still have to get our physicals done, and DH has to write his autobiography, and then we'll be ready to mail out our homestudy paperwork! :D

I'm just a lurker for now. We have been ttc for 16 months. I am finally ready to adopt, but my husband isn't. I told him the other day that I am ready and he just needs to let me know when he is ready. I promised him that I wouldn't bug him about it. I really feel that God will not allow us to have a biological kid until we adopt. I have always had the desire to adopt, I just thought the bio kids would come first.
Welcome!! :D I think I remember you from the TTC boards. :D This is a wonderful place to hang out and learn more about the process of adoption. I hope you and DH find your way soon, whatever that might be. :D
I never officially told my story! DH and I have been married over 6 years and TTC'd for 16 months. We just decided last cycle to pursue adoption if that cycle didn't work. We were using donor inseminations and Clomid. It didn't work, so we're going to Vietnam! We just got started last week but are moving as fast as they'll let us. We're completing our homestudy tomorrow and are about to go into wait mode before compiling our dossier. (We have to wait for CIS approval.)
I'm Amanda, 24 and DH is Telly, 28. I'm new to the board here and the adoption process. We haven't done anything official yet, we are just searching our options. We both knew we wanted to adopt and have bio kids the same so the subject has always been natural I guess. We have been ttc for 4 years and married for 4. We wanted to try right away anticipating obstacles (we were right!) About 3 years ago I had this overwhelming gut emotional desire to adopt from Russia. Every time I think of adoption, I'm drawn to Russia. I'm trying to look into more options from advice/suggestions from the wonderful gals here, but my heart tells me Russia. I admit, I've only done internet browsing we haven't met with an agency or SW yet. We actually just decided to officially start the adoption process last week. We had a failed round of ttc...again and it just felt right. I feel like I'm beating my body up. We understand adoption is a big deal and we don't take it lightly. I guess it just hit us like a ton of bricks. We'd like to take care of a few things before we make a commitment but it's definatly a go for us! I'm so excited about this board and hearing all the wonderful stories of couples who have adopted, who are in the process, and who are just starting out like me. Stephanie- your story is great. It's like I'm on the edge of my seat cheering you on!
Hello, I guess I'll go next....
I'm not officially on the Adoption Train yet but DH and I have been discussing this for a few years now and it's likely that sometime in the future we will go ahead.
I am a mum to four beautiful boys and fortunately have no problems concieving. However I have often suffered with various pregnancy related problems and am constantly being told not to go ahead with anymore pregnancies because of multiple miscarriages, severe pre-eclampsia, severe SPD among other things.
My family is not done. I can feel it in my bones. My ideal would be to have 6 children. So for the moment we have decided to go ahead and have one more biological child and then for child #6 we will adopt.... Probably internationally (despite the costs as here in the UK adopting at home is really cheap but international is very expensive!) from one of the Eastern European countries. I have always been drawn to Russia, so I think that's probably the kind of area we'd go for.
So because I like to plan ahead and we've been talking about it for the last three years or so I thought I'd go ahead and find out all the legalities, costs and requirements so that we have that information when we do decide the time is right to finally take that extra step!
Anyway, I'm wishing you all the very best in your journeys... And hoping they don't take you too long as I know how frustrating waiting can be!

Hi! I'm Desirae (25) and DH is Brian (30) & we're from Louisiana. We've been TTC for about 20 months now, on cycle 11. We are facing fertility issues. I'm anovulatory & DH has a low sperm count with some abnormal swimmers. We see the RE on July 31st just to get her opinion on our realistic chances for a bio child. We're willing to try medication, but we have decided against IVF or anything like that. If we can't conceive we'll adopt. I'm very excited about the prospect of adopting because I know there are so many kids out there who need good homes and loving parents. I looked up numbers to our Catholic diocese and the local social services office yesterday. Will call soon to get more info on adopting from both. Hopefully I can learn more here & talk to others who are in the same boat as us. I look forward to sharing the journey with y'all! :)
Update to my story: I have a 5-month-old waiting for me in Vietnam now. We hope to travel late November/early December.
