Just wanted to give a quick update. Twins were born at healthy weights October 1st. Went to bring them home and birth mom ended up changing her mind at the very last second. Babies are in foster care now, because she can not legally bring them home, due to her other children being taken from her. They will be in foster care at least until they are in kindergarten... She has to stay off drugs and get a job and prove she can take care of herself, then MAYBE get her daughter back and prove she can take care of her, then MAYBE get her son back and prove herself again and then MAYBE get the twins back. I understand that this is her choice, her decision, but she really is not thinking about what is best for that sweet little boy and girl. She has no support from her family, so I'm not really sure about what her reasoning is. And she has just dropped off the face of the earth, not answering calls, email or the letter we sent her via our agency, so we don't really have much closer.

I just wanted to say that I'm so sorry that this happened. No matter how I think of it, it doesn't really make any sense to "parent" your children when you aren't even able by law to parent them. I hope that you'll be able to get closure somehow and that your adoption dreams come true very soon! :bigarmhug:

Gosh, what a terrible ending to a potentially terrific story. Maybe she'll change her mind again. But you're right, she's not thinking in the best interest of those children. (((((hugs))))))
