Back again!

Hi,
My name is J.K. or if you have been here during the years of 2002, 2003, 2004 you may remember me as EEMC.Momma. Well many things have changed in my life since than. My only child is nearing ten, I am getting married in a little over two weeks to a man that I never imagined even existed. We are in the process of TTC and have been for two months. I know how educated you beautiful ladies are on that subject, so If you could please pop over to TTC 0-24 and reply to my post, I would appreciate it more than you can know. I am a newbie to TTC(as I was a teen when my beautiful little girl was conceived) and all the help I can get on my journey would be an amazing blessing. Thank you so very much. I wish you all recieve the Health, Love & happiness you deserve in 2012.

sincerely,
J.K.

Also, I started my period on the fifth of this month and I am assuming this is the perfect time to start tracking my cycles. Does PO offer any tools to help you do that! Please ladies! I could not thank you enough for any information recieved!

Yesterday was my fourth day of my cycle and the first day I tempt; 97.7. I also just bought flax seed oil 1000mg, Folic acid 800mg, B-Complex vitamins and Evening Primrose oil 500mg. I was reading an article on PO that stated those are good vitamins to take while TTC. How and what do you recommend I take?? Thanks so much in advance, Ladies!

Hi Jamie! Those are all good. I've put out some feelers to others that can give you some more specific advice.

Count from the first day. The best days for you based upon the dates you gave (starting your cycle on the 5th) would be next week -- from *around* the 17th - 21st.

Btw -- when is the wedding and do we /I get to see pics? Biggrin

Thanks so much, Missy! My fiancee has really taken the reigns on the charting, he wont even let me out of bed to pee before temping! We are just having a little ceremony at justice of peace and a small reception with family and friends afterwords! Of course you will see pictures! I will keep you updated on my progress and info you can think of to help me in this journey would be greatly appreciated. Also, I know this may be TMI but I know you're supposed to DTD every other day during ovulation, should we start dtd on the 17th or 18th, Sorrry for being so clueless! Oh, it was so much easier when my first pregnancy was unplanned!

Hi J.K. Welcome back!!!

How exciting to be thinking and working on baby-making!

Here are some lifestyle tips that help many couples:
Clean up your diet:
• PCB's are hormone distrupters and by eating more fresh foods and less canned stuff, gals' cycles smooth out babies happen. Smile Here's an article, Just Say No! to BPA's that talks more about it.
• I've also heard of some specific eating plans that seem to get hormones more on track. If you'd like I'll dig deeper.

Alternative Stuff:
Acupuncture boosts fertility. Studies also indicate that hypnosis can improve the odds.

We are SO rooting for you. Keep us updated!

Do you need tips / info on the best way to temp / chart? I'll look for a list I have if you do.

Christa -- thank you so much for stopping in! Smile We've missed you! -- Jamie, both Christa and Julie have awesome advice to offer. Christa has compiled a lot for you already that I'm sure you will find useful to follow. Julie's ideas on diets and nutrition can only serve to help as well.

Christa, I'll answer for Jamie and share that giving temping "how to's" is also likely useful... if not for her, then others that are bound to read.

Smile Thanks again!

Thank you so much ladies!! I am taking care of a sick girl so I do not have the time yo discuss all I want to right now, but does anyone know where I can find the clear blue easy fertility monitor starter set at a cheaper price or something like it?? Thanks so much!!!

The clear blue easy fertility monitor is expensive. I personally found it helpful because I'm type A and want to "take care of it" now! You can try amazon.com to see if it's on sale anywhere. I did a quick search and the cheapest I found it is $147.43. Test strips (30 count) run around $50 per box.

A cheaper route if you want to use a fertility monitor / testing: The dollar tree also sells ovulation predictor tests as do other drug stores. The only difference is that you are interpreting the results by looking at the color depth of the test line to the control line. The monitor has it's benefit in that it does the interpretation for you. A good online source for both pregnancy tests and fertility test strips is: http://www.early-pregnancy-tests.com

But, you can also certainly take a wait and see approach and not invest in one unless you need to. If you temp correctly, you are likely to see a pattern after a few months and will have a much better idea of when you ovulate. If you combine that with the cervical fluid observation methods, you should be all set Smile

I'll look for the temping tips / how-to's and post those later today.
