I am new here and am so glad to get to know you all. It is such a comfort to be able to see eye to eyewith mothers that enjoy being mothers.
I have a question? I am now pregnant with my eighth child and I started this pregnancy with a weight of 145, I am 5'6. I am 36 years old. I know with multiple pregnancies you will show sooner than normal.
But I am not kidding when I say I went from a flat stomach to what looks like I am 3 months pregnant. I thought it was gas, but it didnt go away. I missed my period for Oct. with my Sept period being on the 19th Monday and ending on the Sunday 25. All was normal period.
Something strange did happen at the begining of Oct. I went to the Women of Faith Conference and I had such horrible pains, I thought they were gas or something. Women were giving me tums and pecids thruout the weekend. It was horrible pain-than it was gone.
By the middle of Oct. on the 19th I got a raging yeast infection. So I thought ok my period should be around the corner. No cycle so by the end of the week with my stomach considerable bigger I took a test. It came up postive very fast, which was surprising because I never get a bright postive unless I am 8 to 10 weeks along . Even than I have to take a few to see a bright line.
I have gone to see doc she schedule a ultra sound and they said I wasnt that far along they could see the sac and hear a heartbeat but could not see a baby yet. The tech said you cant be but a couple of weeks. I am floored because I keep getting bigger in the middle. Monday i go in for another scan so I guess I will find out than what is happening.
I know this is long, but has any moms of 5 or more experienced this?
Hi again Clara!
As a mom to many, I definitely show sooner than later. What type of ultrasound did they do -- hopefully a vaginal one? Heartbeat is generally not detectable until about 5 - 6 weeks. It would be stronger at 7 - 8 weeks. Here is where our Ultrasound Expert answered a related question with information you may use:
Can I See a Heartbeat at 7 1/2 Weeks?
For testing purposes, I have run the gamut of having really late positive home pregnancy tests (HPT) results to those that show up before my cycle is due. It could be any # of factors involved including where you are in your cycle, what kind of test you were using, what time of day you tested, etc. Bottom line answer... unfortunately it just isn't a good indicator for how far along you are.
Either way -- super exciting time for your family! We'll look forward to sharing your journey with you!
Thank you Missy that was very helpful.
Hope this works.[IMG][/IMG]
Goodness! You do have a beautiful belly developing! I always felt "dumpy" vs. gorgeously pregnant as you appear! WTG mama!
