How is everyone doing? Two weeks from today we'll be in Florida getting ready to leave on our cruise the next day. Our bathroom is almost done. The plumber is here finishing up putting in the shower door. I was looking forward to getting to use it but we have to wait a couple days to allow the silicone to dry :(.
I think I can officially call our bathroom DONE! It's been 18 1/2 long weeks of construction and frustrations. We can't use our shower until Monday to give the silicone time to dry. I have my new towels in the dryer to hang on the new towel racks. We kind of went "all out" on our bathroom. We figured we might as well do it right when we had the opportunity. We put built in speakers in the ceiling so we can here the radio anywhere. I'm in love with it! Here are pics!!
Before our bathroom was split into two small rooms. One room had a double sink vanity and the other room had the toilet and a tub/shower.
This is standing where the toilet was in the before pics. We took down the wall separating the two rooms and the wall behind the toilet to add on. The whirlpool is where the vanity used to be.
The vanity, looking in from doorway leading to our bedroom. We put slide out hampers in the lower portion of the floor to ceiling cabinets.
Looking from where the whirlpool is. It turns to the left and we have the toilet, shower and a linen cabinet there. We added this on. It goes into our garage. The built in in the wall is a jewelry cabinet. DH had this built for me and it was in the wall of our old bathroom. DH says I now need a jewelry closet as we were putting my jewelry away.
Walk in steam shower in the added in part. We put shower heads on both sides and have a granite bench along the back wall. The glass just got installed today and needs cleaned real bad but I think I better wait until the silicone is dry.
Looking from shower doorway. Linen cabinet. We put the little built in shelf above the toilet.
MEG!! That is GORGEOUS!!!! Wow, definitely worth the wait! I'm sure you are just dying to use new shower!
Thanks! All of the frustrations and set backs have been well worth the wait. It turned out better than I ever imagined.

Since we had the snow day last week the girls will miss the last day of school. We figure since they are missing one day, they might as well miss two days so we'll take them out of school on Thursday also. I promised my DDs I'd take them for manis/pedis so this gives us time to do that.
Meg -- I LOVE LOVE LOVE the bathroom makeover! What an amazing change!
For you and Kristi both -- I hope you have a fantastic time on your vacation getaways! It is wonderful to have time to recharge. :)
Have great Vaca's ladies!!!! I'm totally jealous :D
Meg- YOUR BATHROOM IS FANTASTIC! It is simply gorgeous! And GINORMOUS! :) Super wonderful.
I took the first shower in our shower yesterday and it was wonderful!
We had our last school program of the year last night. We are winding down the school year. Since the girls are going to miss the last day of school because of our trip we decided to take them out the 2nd to last day. This gives me time to take them to get manis/pedis and not feel so rushed the day before we leave. Had we not had the snow day on May 2, they would've had perfect attendance, but now that day needs to be made up when we need to leave.
Thanks ladies - Meg we're gone for 10 nights. DD is so excited because it's her first holiday abroad, she cannot wait to play in the outdoor swimming pools haha.
Where are you off to on your cruise Meg?
I don't know if I would fancy a cruise - they do look amazing but I worry way too much ALL the time.
