Kristi...sorry to hear about your friend. Hope she does well through all of this. Your DD is adorable. TFS the pics

We are home from our lake house until Wednesday evening then will be back there until July 7th. We really only come home so DH can work. Guess he has to work so we can have the privilege to have the place. DD1 and 2 will go to an overnight week long residential camp with their cousin the week of July 4. DD3 will go to the day camp with her other cousin at the same time. It's a YMCA camp and it is in it's 101st year. They all used to go to the daycamp but we thought the older ones were getting old enough to go to the residential camp. It will be much different having 3 less kids at home during the week.

We were all glued to the TV tonight watching the guy walk over the Grand Canyon. Did anyone else watch it? I was so nervous for him.

We are dog sitting DH's sister's dog. She's a 3 year old Golden Retriever. We haven't had a dog for 3 years. It's kind of good doggy birth control. Reminds me how high maintenance dogs are. More-so it's a good reminder for my children since they occassionally ask for a puppy. She's a really good dog and gives us no problems. She's very well trained. It makes me walk and exercise more so that's a bonus.

    Hope everyone is doing well.

    Thanks Meg

It must be hard DH having to work so much. My DBF works nights and has been doing overtime whilst available, so I've hardly seen him lately. Not that bad of a thing really! haha. I feel sorry for DD because she loves him so much.

Weekend wasn't the best as the weather was awful, gale force winds and loads of rain. We did our grocery shopping and then visited family - that's as exciting as it gets. Oh, I watched "The Impossible" on Saturday night - boy oh boy, what a wreck I was! Such a sad sad film.

I bought DDs birthday present which is a scooter. I get her so much at Christmas that I decided for her birthday she gets one main present and that's it. Yes, I feel mean/guilty but I can't get her everything she would like. She is getting a party this year with her school friends anyways

It can be difficult at times having DH work so much. Sometimes he is gone a lot and I feel like a single parent. Thankfully, my girls are very well behaved so don't give me many problems. DH helps a ton around the house when he can. The advantages to his schedule and job is that he can have off any time he wishes since he just submits the days he's available to work, then his schedule is made off of that. He likes to work more hours in the fall, winter and spring and less hours in the summer so we can spend long periods of time at the lake.

We've had pretty crummy weather here lately as well. Lots of cool temps and rain. I don't think I've ever heard of "The Impossible". I'll have to check that out. Sometimes I think it's just as easy to get one big present than lots of little presents. Have fun party planning!!

I just made my last jury duty call and don't need to report. I made it my 3 months of jury duty without ever having to report. I was anxiously awaiting 5:00 today when I could call and find out. I was worried I'd need to report since it was the last week and we have plans to be gone next week. I didn't really want to come home from the lake. Last week a group had to call back about possibly reporting the next day. Thankfully, it was not my group. I survived my first time of jury duty!

Oooh you did Jury duty? Did you actually sit in on a case or is that what you mean about not having to report back?

I have never been called up, yet I know of people who've done it 2 or 3 times and they're not even Manx! How does that make sense? Booooo.

Oh 'The Impossible' is a film based on a true story of a family that was affected by the Tsunami in Asia in 2004. It gives you an insight into what those poor people wetn through after it hit. It's hard to even imagine. Definitely worth a watch.

Your hubby is so lucky being able to choose when he works. I would love to be in that position - somehow I don't ever see that happening though haha.

Yea, I used to get DD so much for her bday AND Christmas but now I've wised up. She doesn't NEED to be spoilt, she appreciates everything she gets and I want to keep it that way. Her party is at a local Gymnasium where they get to play on the aparatus, she is super excited.

I was "summoned" for 3 months. I had to call a number every Monday evening and it would tell me what to do. Last week a certain jury group had to call back on Thursday evening for possible reporting on Friday. Thankfully, my group never got called. It depends on what county you live in for how long you serve. My MIL lives in a bigger county so she only had to serve one week. During that week she did have to go in and sat in the courthouse for a whole day (on her bday). If you get called in, there is a possibility you will be selected for a jury. In our county I can't imagine it'd be anything too much. It's just kind of like being on call for the courthouse for 3 months. It does stink for those who have jobs that get called because you loose the income of your job during that time and get paid a whopping $30/day while being on the jury.

As my girls are getting older we don't get them as much for their bdays or Christmas. We never really have gotten them a ton. They have everything they need and anything more just ends up sitting around. We also get them things that we would usually buy them. Last Christmas we got them new pillows since they were complaining they didn't like their old ones. Two years ago we got them each a new blanket for their bed and flannel sheets. So they are all things that we'd get them anyways. Sounds like a fun bday party for DD!

We have church pics tonight. Hopefully they turn out ok. I'm not too worried about them though.

How did you get it cut? Sorry it didn't turn out. I'm going in a few minutes to get mine cut/shaved. It is so humid here that I'd love to shave my whole head. My hair is awful with humidity. I'm going to have her shave the back and sides like usual and get the longer top part thinned out as much as possible. I have really thick hair. I wish I could have an easy hairstyle but with any style I have to flat iron it every day.
