Didn't there used to be a 'blended families' forum here?

Or am I just imagining things...?

I was going to have a look for step parenting forums online, then I remembered that when I used to post here (2008 ) that there was a forum for step-parents/blended families...perhaps I was dreaming though Blum 3

LOL! I know that there was at one time a board like that! I can't right recall the exact name... but what you are saying seems about right!

There are a lot of boards that have been eliminated due to inactivity...

I think there used to be.... not sure anymore. We are a blended family too! If you ever feel like chatting it up, let me know. I recognize you from the December board!

Hi Mandy!

As Joee shared, that board did become inactive and was deleted. I believe that was, in large part, due to blended families really becoming much more prevalent. You really can likely connect with other blended / step families throughout the site! If you have specific questions or topics that you'd like to discuss, feel free to post them here!

It's good to see you!

Thankyou Biggrin

And Hi Kim!

Well here goes my appeal for advice/thoughts/suggestions...

I have a step son who is 5, I've been in his life since he was 2 and been a parental figure since he was 3. We have full custody of him and since DH works a lot, I do all the motherly things for him, feed him, dress him, bathe him, help with homework, put him to bed (DH doesn't often get home until after the children are in bed), I cuddle him, I kiss him, I play with him just as I do with DD.

I don't know if I am too hard on myself or not but I feel like I am doing something wrong because I still notice a significant difference in the bond I have with DD and DSS.

Any suggestions, thoughts or sharing of experiences would be helpful! I think that being a step parent is undoubtedly the most difficult thing I have ever done, but obviously I wouldn't change it for the world! I love him to bits and I cant ever imagine my life without him!
