Default Formula or Breastfeed for WOHM?

Answer box: I have to return to work at 6 weeks. Should I breastfeed the first weeks and then change to formula or is it better for baby for me to go straight to formula?

Breastfeed as much as you can. It's the best thing for baby, and for you! And I would encourage you to still breastfeed after you return to work! Even if you have a job that doesn't easily allow pumping, you have the law on your side to at least try to make it happen. And if it doesn't work out, then offer formula while you're at work, and breastfeed as much as you can when you're with your baby. Your body will quickly adjust to whatever you decide to do.

With both of my sons, I pumped when I went back to work. It was extremely difficult but it was worth it for them. I did eventually switch to formula when my supply dropped a lot (going from work to the nicu and such) They both did fine with the switch.
