It's Friday - what's up for the weekend?

I'm seeking to live vicariously I think. LOL Does anyone have any plans for the weekend? Perhaps a "date night" you've looked forward to all week? A get-together with friends? A special outing planned with the kids or even better....... a weekend getaway?

My "exciting" plans -- dealing with rain/humidity; watching kids' sports all day in rain / humidity (the flat look for hair IS in right?); and then work. Woohoo!! LOL

Oh..... one good thing for tonight. We have a family movie night set. The kids were already plotting for dinner / snack suggestions. Smile

Go ahead. Share. I won't be envious..................................................... MUCH!!!

You definitely won't envy my weekend. No plans tomorrow as Dh is in a golf tournament and DS and I will be home all day avoiding the heat outside (wait, isn't today the 1st day of fall? What a joke here in Tx)

Sunday I am working 7:30 a - 4 p. I normally never work on the weekends but this is a special event at work.

See - nothing to envy here!

Not much to envy here but here are my plans:

1. pick up the new kitchen table top to replace the one that came damaged - ugh.
2. clean our shower and the 2 up-stairs showers - double ugh.
3. go for a walk
4. put up the rest of the Halloween lights for our party in 4 weeks.
5. convince DH to put up more Halloween stuff.
6. plan for the family b-day party for the 4 older kids next weekend.
7. drink a glass (or three) of wine.
8. have hott monkey s.e.x. with DH (did that get your attention???)
9. laundry and dishes (always)

Not sure if I'll accomplish all of the items on my list and I can't say they are in order of priority either. But I am thinking that #7 and #8 are shoe-ins Wink

I'm going out to a girls-only dinner (grown up girls). I can't remember the last time I went out to dinner with just the girls. (Heck, I can barely remember the last time I went out to dinner without the kids...) We're in Boston so we're going to the fancy restaurant on the top of the Prudential Center.

Sunday I go back to Minnesota with just the baby while the rest of my family stays in Boston. I have to go back for a week of work and then I return to Boston for another month.

My weekend sort of started today... it's a PD day so no school for the kids (just for the teachers LOL). It's been a loooong one so far Wink

Today I'm trying to get some housework done and not throttle the children. They, on the other hand, are doing their darnedest to try to get out of doing chores before play (it's not working ;)).

Tomorrow... kids have swimming, I want to dash to the Farmer's Market for a zucchini or 2, then we're going to look at a kitten. *SIGH* We're getting a kitten. I'm crazy. But my landlord (aka mother) softened to the idea while she was semi cat-sitting my brother's cat so I'm going to run with it before she goes back to her very rigid NO PETS IN THE HOUSE rule LOL So I'm sure the rest of the day/weekend will be trying to keep excited kids from smothering the little critter!

In my case, the humidity means I hope the super-frizzy look is in.

For our anniversary back in June, I bought DH (and I) tickets to go to tomorrow's Yankees/Red Sox game...DH is a diehard Yanks fan. Was hoping it would be a game that would be significant for them. It'll more be significant now for whether they help push the Sox out of the playoff picture. We're hoping it doesn't get rained out like tonight!

Although I'm not a big Yankees fan, I am a huge fan of the game in general. The cool part is that, because of the rain out tonight, they have pushed back a big celebration of the 50th anniversary of Roger Maris hitting 61 home runs in 1961. For those who aren't fans, Mickey Mantle and Maris chased Babe Ruth's home run record that whole summer, and Maris finally got it at the very end of the season. As something of a baseball purist, I still consider it THE homerun record, so I'm glad we'll be there to recognize it!

DH was working all weekend so I was brave and took Makenna to the Fall fair on my own. It went well until it was time to leave.....then HUGE meltdown with hundreds of people watching!!

Jenn - I hope that you enjoyed a day of relative rest on Saturday before having to work on Sunday. I also hope you were able to sneak in *something* to be envious over as a surprise. Smile

Christina - hm..... it definitely sounds like your priorities were on # 7 & #8. Can't say that I blame you. Certainly seems to beat cleaning showers!! Do you have a Halloween party every year? For kids, adults, or everyone? Either way - sounds fun! My kids have been in costume planning mode now since late July. *whew*

Janel - Yeah on the "GNO"!! I hope you had a fantastic time!! As for the work week back home, ugh.... but I hope you are able to visit family/friends while you are there to help make things a bit more pleasant. ((((HUGS))))

Marla - did you really get a kitten?? Did she think a cat was easier on homes than a dog (non-shedding of course?) Biggrin I want pics!

Jean - that is really cool that you were able to be there for Maris' recognition with his family... and kudos to the Yankees for making it a real celebration! Smile I hope that you enjoyed the game and time with your dh!

Jessica - I'm glad that you were able to have a good time at the Fall fest.... *until* it was time to leave. I always dread the "leaving" part with little ones that truly do not grasp "why we can't stay F-O-R-E-V-E-R" (a recent statement from one of my own in trying to leave the park.) I do hope she was able to calm down on the ride home.

We made cupcakes for friends......... and I didn't get one. Sheesh.

Yep. Really got a kitten. Meet Pekoe:

(yes... pekoe as in orange pekoe tea... he is, afterall, orange )

She's been adement on the NO PETS (exception was granted for the rabbits... now just one... because it's an outside pet) since we moved here... so we ran with it LOL (she was even sending me ads from kijiji LOL So far it hasn't bothered my allergies much thankfully. Now if I could just keep the kids from fighting over it  Technically it is ds's since it was his rabbit that died and dd still has her bunny.

Awwwww..... sweet. Only.... now my little one is attached with the "mommmmmy catttttttt" response and fussing when I scrolled past. Thankfully she likes the "birdie" in the Clearblue ad as well. LOL

Congratulations on your new addition! Smile
