    Default Novarel Booster Shots

    Hi All,

Wondering if anyone has any experience with LP Booster shots? This is my first cycle doing a booster shot 4 DPIUI & 7 DPIUI since I have low progesterone levels.

    1) Can it delay AF? I usually go for BW 14 DPIUI, however AF usually arrives beforehand. However, this time I won't be getting BW until 17 DPIUI.

    2) Generally how long can the Novarel stay in my system? I did 2500 IUs (i think that's the unit) on Wed 3/12 & another 2500 IUs on Sat 3/15. They are doing BW 10 days since last shot, but wondering if I could POAS beforehand and get a real BFP!

This feel like the LONGEST 2WW (actually in my case, it's 2 weeks and 3 days!)
    Thanks for any input!!!

I've never heard of LP booster shots but I know a lot of women IRL who were helped simply by OTC progesterone cream. Many conceived on their first cycle using it, and those who didn't found it increased their LP by days and they were able to conceive within a couple of months. I hope this long wait for AF turns into a joyous months-long wait for a baby!

Thank you for your response! The LP HCG booster shots "trick" your body into thinking you're pregnant, and thus creating progesterone on your own, instead of adding progesterone via creams, pills, or suppositories. I've been using progesterone suppositories for the past 3-4 IUI cycles, but I usually start spotting @ 11 DPIUI, and my LP is never longer than 13 days. So my RE decided to try out the booster shots. so far it's been working!

Wow, I've never heard of that, but it seems to be quite logical. That's what birth control pills do, they trick your body into thinking it's pregnant so it doesn't ovulate. It doesn't seem like a giant leap to trick a body into thinking it's pregnant to stimulate it's natural progesterone! I saw your update from today; sending you all kinds of good wishes that it works for you next cycle.

aw thank you - I appreicate that. I can report that the booster shots did delay my period (which tricked me into thinking that I might be pregnant) but also extended my LP! I usually start spotting around 11-12 DPIUI, however this time I didn't spot until 15 DPIUI!!!! and I only spotted a day before AF. Slowly getting my ducks in a row....
