Pageants

What do you think about them? Do you know anyone who is involved with them?

I watched Toddlers and Tiaras for the first time the other night and thought it was horrible! I don;t get why any Mother would want to put there kid through all that.

I have never watched that Toddler and Tiaras show but I did catch a glimpse of that Honey Boo Boo show that is supposedly getting crazy "train wreck" reviews.. I lasted less than 3 minutes. White. Trash.

Uuuggghhh...

My five year old daughter caught me watching that ( I know, I know, but I can't help it. Trashy tv is my addiction :) ) and now she won't leave me alone. She begs me to do pageants. But this is one area where DH and I are holding our ground. NO WAY are we touching that with a ten foot pole! I'm sure some people really enjoy it, and even have fun bonding time with their kids, but definitely not for us.

I'm in agreement with you on the pageants. Thankfully, my girls are ok with avoiding. Maybe you can pacify your 5 yr old with finding a good dance or gymnastics program that you approve of. (Even some of those can be over the top! LOL)

Yeah we put her in a non-competition "cheerleading" class at the local community center. It's all about working as a team and showing "spirit" so we're pretty happy with it. Hopefully the pageant thing will pass soon :)
