My doctor put me on it and I was wondering what is anyone elses dosage? What did you start at and what did you go to. I wondering because my doctor put me on 500mg for a week and every week I go up 500mg till I hit 2000mg. Is that a lot?
Thank you Dana so glad to hear someone else went that high. I'm type 1 diabetic also so my endo gave it to me right away and said now I might need less insulin so that is a plus. I just started it yesterday so I'm waiting to see if I'll be alright. He told me some people can handle the 2000 and some can't. I hope I can. I will keep you in mind if I have any questions thank for offering. I feel lost with everything going on now. How long did it take you to get pregnant after you started taking metformin?
I was also on metformin my last 2 pregnancies. I was on 3000 mg/day. I am not diabetic, and my 1st RE put me on it first, at 1000mg/day. My 2nd (and awesome RE) told me that dose was like "spitting in the wind" and gave me the new dose. I don't know if it is what did the trick or not, but after over 2 yrs of TTC, and lots of fertility treatments - we got pregnant on our own. (The next pregnancy, I went back on it and again did not need any "outside help" (and got pregnant in about 4 months).

I am on 1000mg/day, was on 1500/day when I got pregnant with my son. While pregnant I had to drop down to 500mg/day.

Thank you ladies that gives me hope. My doctor called yesterday and said when I go in next month for my consult (after the HSG and DH sa) he will probally start me on Femara. I will be at my 2000mg by then. I increased to 1000mg yesterday and had a headache all day but it's gone today. I would be happy to just have one baby but two is my ideal number. On a plus note my blood sugar hasn't been higher then 150. My A1c did go up but only to 6.6. My endo and ob are great they are being very aggressive. We didn't really try this month. My ob did say my temps look great so I think I'm Oing on my own. I just hope the HSG doesn't show any blockage. Have any of you had a HSG? I'm not sure what is going to happen but don't really care. I just need to know if I should have a driver there with me.
Thanks again ladies you guys are the best![]()
I had an HSG when I had some endo removed. Not sure if there was any pain or anything as I was recovering from the incisions from surgery.

I have had 3 HSGs, and the first was very quick (5 min) and was nothing (I took Advil before hand), the second was with my wonderful RE, and was much more thorough (30 min or so) - I had wicked cramping about 2 hours later, and was achy the rest of the day - but a week later we conceived our 2nd - so again, whether that was what helped or not, I will never know, but it was all worth it!
