Hi Jina. Yes, DH and I talk about it at length. He's so frustrated by his mother's behavior. He totally sees it and it makes him mad too. She has caused many a fight b/t me and DH. We always work it out but still.

We've tried talking to her, telling her that she needs to be sensitive to our family structure and that all the kids are equally as important and wonderful. She says, "oh yes I know I know. I love them all blah blah blah." Her actions don't match her words and then she tries to justify it.

There just is no talking to people like her. When you haven't a logical bone in your body you can't be spoken to logically!

I won't let him, our kids have all been through enough with being a blended family. He doesn't need anything else in his life making him feel badly.

Christina- Nope, not happening. And if DH wants to 'punish' all the other boys because one cant go, then oh well. Why would anyone send someone they love into an environment where they will be picked on and made fun of? And regardless of what she says, it's the actions that count.

Jina ~ sorry about the crazy chart. Hope you O soon! How frustrating.

Christina (Carg0612) ~ sorry about the trouble with your MIL. I think you are smart to keep him home, I would, too. It sounds like he doesn't want to go anyway.

AFM, very tired tonight. I don't think that virus is quite done with me yet, as my stomach has really been bothering me and then I had the runs again. At least I got the Jillian workout in this morning. Hoping it's better again tomorrow as I REALLY want to go sign up for a gym membership.

We had to buy a new (2nd) window a/c tonight. The other one just wasn't doing the job with how hot it's been lately. I was going to clean the house like crazy today, but it was so hot that I had to leave and go for a drive. Gave me a good excuse to make the trip to the bank and make some deposits and cash a check, so it's just as well. The a/c in my van felt SO GOOD, lol. Feels good in here now, too, now that the 2nd a/c unit is installed. Ahhhhh, we should sleep good tonight

Haven't posted in awhile. How is everybody doing?

I had my allergy appointment today and FINALLY I have answers, it only took 12 years of tests. I'm highly allergic to pollen (could've told the doctor that, everytime I walk outside, I instantly look like I have a cold and I'm covered in hives), and I'm also highly allergic to dust, mould, dustmites and dogs. So, I suffer for the rest of my life, well April to October. I have to be on pills everyday to control my allergies & nose spray to help with the allergic rhinitis. I'll get used to the routine eventually. Afew years ago when I went to this allergist, he said my skin was called "Dermatographic Urticaria". Basically, I react to everything that comes in contact with my skin, my skin is very sensitive - a simple scratch will swell up, I get hives very easily, it has to do with something about my cells under my skin and my WBC. Today, at the office, he wanted to test something on me and he scratched me afew times on the arm and instantly, I had 3 long raised, reddish marks on my arm. He again did the allergy scratch test on my back and like always (and for 12 years), I failed it. I reacted to everything he tested me for but this time, he took measurements of the biggest hives and told me that those were the things I'm most allergic to. I'm still being sent for blood work as well.

I spent about 2 hours at the allergists today and when I got home, work called me to tell me I didn't need to come in! I got the WHOLE day off!! SO & I got the backyard cleaned up since the weather was so nice. We spent 3 hours cleaning. We power washed the patio, mowed the lawn, spray-painted the patio table, cleaned up the umbrella, planted some flowers and the yard is almost finished!!

Wow, Shannon, you did a lot on your day off. I probably would have been goofing off rather than working, LOL. Sounds like you got a lot done, though. Always nice to get things done

AFM, my stomach seems to be doing much better and as of today, I'm back to running 2 miles, or 20 minutes. Not 20 min straight, though ~ there was some brisk walking in-between, but I'll get there. I guess my body is still recovering.

Tomorrow DH's sister and family are coming into town, can't wait to see them. Hannah is so excited to see her cousins. My brother is also having a birthday lunch for me at his house, then my DH is taking me out to dinner and maybe a movie, too. Should be a fun day

Shannon, sorry about the crazy allergies. My hubby has the same problem. He is allergic to just about EVERYTHING! He has to get allergy shots and also take meds.

Yay for getting some yard work done! How rewarding....I need to do some too but I'm too lazy and it's just too hot...lol.
Has the tattoo situation at work blown over yet?

Mary, Hi! I haven't "seen" you in a while, it seems. I'm glad you are feeling better and are back to running.

It sounds like you have a very fun day ahead! How cool...have fun!!

    Oh and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!

AFM, not much going on here....I've just been obsessing about when I'm going to O. My cycle is getting longer it seems and I'm pretty irritated about that. Oh well.

We had a staff meeting on Monday and the issue was brought up. Apparently, a parent complained about the "large" tattoo on the one girl's leg and has made it very clear that he doesn't want his child exposed to that sort of stuff. So, what was done was that we now have to cover up any tattoos that we have. I see his point but then again I'm thinking, "Get over it, your child is exposed to worse things in this world, a tattoo ain't going to hurt him/her". Today, I wore very high CANADA DAY socks!!!

Sorry I haven't been around much ladies. I had a VERY busy couple of weeks which includes drs for my 18 yo and Faith, but all are well now and antibiotics are even done with.

Shannon - I just had to tell you I agree with you on the tattoo. I mean does he think he can control every person on the planet and tell them to cover up? I think not. Anyway, I even decided that if something were to happen to Eli (with his heart) I am going to get a turtle tattoo and have his name put on it. I would like to incorporate a heart or some sort of broken heart.

Hello to everyone else. I can remember what I read so I'm just going to pick up from here.

Oh and Happy Canada Day tomorrow ladies. It is tomorrow right?

Jina - I'm still around, just not posting as much on certain boards. I tend to focus more on the non-ttc ones now. Thank you for the birthday wishes Sorry your cycles are getting longer Can't imagine how frustrating that is. *Hugs*

Shannon - too funny about the Canada Day socks! Please do post a pic

Angela - I've been wondering how you were doing. Glad you're all well now

AFM, when I went to my brother's today he surprised me by having an "Over the Hill" theme. I turned 43 today, but 3 yrs ago when I turned 40 he wanted to do it then, but forgot I was turning 40. Better late than never, right? And this way it was a real surprise. It was TOO funny. We even played a game called, "Pin the Pfffft on the Old Fart" and it had a picture of old person with a walker, with a picture of MY face cut out and stuck on the head. I was looking at it for a minute and then said, "Wait... isn't that the body of an old MAN?" He laughed and said, "Yeah, that's all they had." Haha oh well it made it even funnier.

I had a nice time going out to dinner with DH, too. The salad and dessert were AWESOME, the main entrees, not so much. At least we know now what NOT to order next time, lol.

Oh! And my brother gave me a gift card to Starbucks. He's da man! I used it this afternoon on the way back home, got me a Mocha Coconut Frappuccino Light, Espresso-flavored, WITH whipped cream, and I ordered the GRANDE size this time, instead of the usual Tall size without whipped cream
