    Insane.

Have any of you ever gone skydiving? Can you imagine attempting something like this?

DH and I were talking about this. No telling what effects the fall itself (and the sonic boom) might have on his body, even if he lands safely on his feet. No thanks, I won't even jump off the high dive at the pool!

    Janel,

The impact on his body is what would terrify me. I could handle heights in the past. Now I'm smart enough not to put myself in those situations LOL

They canceled for today due to the wind gusts. The wind cannot be more than 2 mph for the ginormous balloon that would carry him up. If they are not able to do so tomorrow the forecast for the next few days (in Roswell, NM) doesn't look good.

My thought when it was scrubbed was along the lines of "Hey buddy! This is your chance to wake up and say 'what the heck was I thinking! I'm good here on earth tyvm'!!

I wouldn't come close to attempting something like this. There is no way I could skydive. I'm too scared of heights and I hate the feeling of free falling. I can barely swing on a swing because I don't like that "stomach drop" feeling.

My DH did a tandem skydive when he was in his early 20's. He said it was a terrifying experience but afterwards he felt like the every-day issues in his life were much easier to deal with.

My parents (aged 53 & 54) did their first tandem in June. My mom is usually a total scardy-cat, but afterwards she was "lets do that AGAIN!!". So they both decided to do solo static-line jumps. My dad unfortunately landed wrong and broke his shin bones and his ankle. Now he has 4 pins in his ankle My mom still jumped after that but gave it up after 2 more jumps.

I, on the other hand, would NEVER do it

My DH has skydived quite a few times. I think he's even done it so much that he was doing it on his own. That was "before me" though so I'm not 100%. I'd be so scared something would go wrong and I'd fall to my death.

Did you watch the skydive today from 128,000 ft?
