Default Snoring - updated post 12 on 3/5

DH's snoring has gotten to the point where he is now sleeping on the sofa or I get NO sleep. His doctor told him to lose weight a year ago to help with the snoring - he has gained weight. I think there is a possibility of apnea. There are times he gasps for air. He also shakes at times in his sleep. He is epileptic and does have nocturnal seizures but the shaking does not seem like a seizure to me.... If my mask was bigger I would have him try my cpap.

How to make him go to the doctors???? I reminded him on his way to work today to make an appointment but I bet he won't....

Sean had his appointment and will be having an in-home sleep study done! Last night I let him sleep in our bed with ear plugs in.

I'm sorry that you are struggling to convince him. Maybe try the approach that you are truly frightened for his safety and well being. Offer literature (print some out) that outline how serious sleep apnea can be -- including life threatening. Offer to set up the appointment for him.

If he continues to refuse or ignore, then present him with paperwork to update his will and increase his life insurance. Perhaps that will get the point across!

Force him to go. Tell him you don't want to be a widow anytime soon.

I have several examples of people waiting till it was too late to go to the Dr's if he wants to hear them.

If he does not make an appointment in the next couple of days I will be making it for him. We have several stories of people waiting until it was too late - including my dad...

I was going to suggest making the appt for him too. My hubby WILL NOT deal with professional people of any kind. If I told him to make a Dr's appt, I'd be waiting my whole life. Ironicly, my hubby is epileptic too! Good luck. I hope the Dr gets everything figured out.

After telling him that no sex and no kisses until the appointment was made, Sean called and made the appointment. We go on Thursday. I have got a babysitter for Robbie. I did not sleep last night after an argument and crying (one my part). I think he finally got it.

You should try just making an appointment for him and taking him. If he wont take the initiative maybe he just needs a push.
