Thank You To Missy J

I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank Missy "publicly". As some of you know my son Eli was born with a congenital heart defect known as Shone's Syndrome. He has had numerous surgeries and procedures during his life. She encouraged me to start a CaringBridge page for him so when he has things going on I can update. Every time I update she has the most encouraging words for me. While she can't do much from afar but pray for my little man and our family, it truly means the world to me. And so thank you Missy for all your encouragement. You will never know how much your prayers mean to us.

On her last message she suggested I share my CaringBridge and blog with you all so that if you would like you can follow along.

I will warn you though, I do use my blog sometimes as a place to vent. So my posts can seem very "depressing" to some. Life having children with special needs to very difficult so often that is what gets posted. Life isn't always depressing and horrible. There is laughter. Too bad I couldn't get the video of Eli dancing (think doing the twist) with his sister's dress and dress up shoes on.

{{{{HUGS}}}}} You're very welcome! These are the times when I wished I was physically closer to be able to do more!

Thank you for sharing the link and feel free to vent away here too any time! I know you'll receive understanding! (I would though love to see that video. Hehehe.. I can just envision him "shaking it!"

Take care, ~Missy

P.S. For everyone -- Do be encouraged to read these CaringBridge links... from Angela and several of our other moms. (Moms -- feel free to post your links on this thread also!)

If you or your child is dealing with a serious health issue, please consider setting up your own CaringBridge page.... or having one of your support team be responsible to keep one updated. It enables you to conserve energy vs. repeating yourself in 9000 phone calls to keep your loved ones informed. Also, you'd be surprised at the complete strangers that reach out. The love and support offered through positive thoughts, prayers, and words of encouragement can be instrumental in giving you needed strength. As someone longing to *be* a support person, this is one small way that I can stay connected. Highly recommend!

Angela, I know I've heard bits of your story before and I know a little about your journey with Eli. I hope that I've said this somewhere before, but your strength and courage is (and has been) and inspiration to me. I just looked over your caringbridge and seeing some of those hospital pictures is heartbreaking to me. I don't know how you handle things with such grace when I can't even begin to imagine how broken I would be if I had to see my child like that. You are most definitely a stronger woman than I am and I am so glad that you posted that so others can draw strength from your experience.

Thank you very much. Honestly well let's just say I'm a bit grumpy with drs at times. Wink I'm honestly not sure why I don't vent more or reach out more here than I do. Because if you were here IRL you'd be begging me to shut up. LOL I guess it's because I'm usually just going through the motions.

Yes ladies if you have a CaringBridge page please share with us so we can support you.

I agree; Missy can be so encouraging. She truly cares and takes the time to address as many people personally as she can. She is an amazing woman!

Missy is a legend. Period. I'm lucky to be associated with this community and to have "virtually" met her.

I "second" that caring bridge is fantastic. I'm lucky to have followed the caring bridges of many from afar.

Happy Mothers' Day!

I am good! BUSY! Adding #2 seems like a bit more than doubling the number of kids haha He's a super needy baby so it's been very different (vs Evan who was always a very easy baby/kid). But he's also smiley and sweet and very fun. I just blink and the day is over!

For me it was harder when I added #2 than #3 (of my little ones). Mainly because it took more work to figure out how to multi-task with more than one. Once I got it down adding more was fine. Glad things are good.

My thoughts are with you and your family. *Hugs*

Yeah Missy is awesome. She has been wonderful to me when I have been around and the many many things I have dealt with over the years popping back and forth on here.
