    Default Vestibulitis/Vestibular Neuritis

Has anybody dealt with this? How long did it last for you?

For those that don't know, it's a viral inner ear thing affecting the vestibular nerve (which gives your brain the balance info).

I was diagnosed with it Saturday night after suddenly getting really dizzy Friday night and spending all day Saturday in bed... sitting/standing/walking meant I got nauseous/vomiting... flat, I was fine. So we went to ER. I was given Serc (a beta-histamine... which from googling may not be available in the US?) which is supposed to help with the dizziness. Sunday and Monday were definitely MUCH better than Saturday in that I was still dizzy but able to be up a bit/wasn't as severe/no nausea... though I don't think there was any improvement from Sunday to Monday. Jury's still out for today LOL I assume the meds are helping, I'm not sure I want to stop them to see... but give me headaches (common side effect). I'm tired of laying in bed... I'm sore from laying in bed... it's majorly affecting me from functioning/doing anything. I just want it to STOP!!! Kwim? LOL The dr at ER didn't really say how long it would last... and it was after midnight and I was exhausted and stupidly didn't even think to ask. I do know one person IRL who had it years ago and she said hers lasted about 4-5 days (this would be day 4). Google says it can last a few days to weeks

I have never heard of it. I'm sorry you are dealing with it though. Hopefully things will begin to improve soon for you.

I'm sorry to hear this. I hate dealing with ear infections and the like - I can't imagine what you are going through.
