I always wondered where folk in the US go on their holidays (vacations), so, where do you go?
As a Manxie (or Brit, whatever) we do Europe, like Spain or the Canary Islands. Our last trip was to Egypt which I enjoyed but the locals were complete pests!
I am hoping to go somewhere late next year and I am looking at Majorca, great beaches and lots to do. I just need a break away from here.

I luurrrrrve to lurk!
Well, I guess it depends on if you have the cash! We've been to Florida and Canada (Niagara Falls which isn't far from where I grew up).
When I was a kid my parents took us to Hawaii too.
Other than that there is so much to do in the US. Even close to where we live there is a lot to explore for young children. This year we "stay-cationed" and did things close to home because we just didn't have the funds to go anywhere.

Jenn, we have been hmming and harring on Mexico. Where do you go there, Cancun?
Christina, I wish we had lots to do here like you guys. Also, the weather is a big factor too as British weather sucks royally!!

I admit I don't know much about British weather. And of course the US is a pretty big place with such diverse topography. Plus it's so easy to travel from state to state.
One place I'd like to take the kids eventually is the Grand Canyan. I'd also like to take them to the Rocky Mountains. In central Ohio everything here is so flat and it gets a little boring!
Some activities we've done with the kids locally this summer are:
Franklin Park Conservatory (it's a botanical garden - beautiful)
Park hopping (we have a lot of local municipal parks where we live)
Zoombezi Bay (a big waterslide park)
Movies (Harry Potter, of course)
Olentangy Indian Caverns
Hocking Hills (DH and I went zip lining w/o the kids once too - great!!!)
I'm sure there are more but those were just the ones I could think of off the top of my head.
It's a big wide world out there - wish I could afford to see more of it!!! I've always wanted to go to the UK. Maybe someday.

We mostly visit family who live in different states since having the kids because everyone wants to see the babies. We just came back from a week vacation where we visited family in Maine and went camping in New Hampshire. It was about a 4 hour drive. We have also visited Pennsylvania, DC and upstate New York in the past couple years since DS was born.
Before kids, DH and I took trips to St Lucia (in the Carribean), Hawaii and London. I spent a semester living in Rome while in college and took a week vacation in Greece. I've always wanted to go to Egypt, Brazil, Spain and Amsterdam, maybe someday!!!
Many of my friends take cruises as family vacations because so many ages can enjoy the same vacation.
Have fun deciding!!!

Due to finances, we've always stayed here in Ontario, Canada... usually head south (Toronto area... a lot of attractions down that way). One of these days we'd like to take the kids to Niagara Falls and other parts of Canada. I've been as far east as PEI, but never west at all.
Out of country, I've been to Chile 3 times (I have an aunt and uncle who are missionaries there), the last time was 2 years ago and I took dd (my brother paid for us to go). It's beautiful there, I've been almost the stretch of it... and my cousin/her dh live further south than I've been and I'd like to see there too. My goal is to save up enough and take ds in 2 years. One of these days I'd like all 4 of us to go, but that's too $$$$$, so for now, 2 by 2 LOL
We are planning to go to Niagara Falls next year for our summer vacation. I have a close cousin who lives there so we could stay there for free. I plan on visiting Marine Land and the Falls. We went 3 times and love it. Hunter is going to be old enough to enjoy next summer. (I may be 5-6months pregnant though)!!
