Anyone else wear glasses ----- ~Brandi~

So Jax got his glasses yesterday, Isn't he stinking adorable? They told me that it was a pretty strong script, and it might take some time for him to adjust, so it was ok for him to not wear them for a few hours a day at first. But, they said that typically kids who need glasses this bad tend to keep them on because they can see so well.

Jax loves the idea of glasses. But, he keeps telling me he can't see with them and he tries not to wear them. I'm inclined to believe him, I'm finding no signs of it being that he just doesn't 'want to' wear them, KWIM? He does a lot of squinting and makes faces when they are on.

I need someone with experience to tell me if this normal or not and whether I should call the office and have him looked at again?

they told me the same thing, that he would probably want to wear them because he'd be able to see so much better and in my experience he did want to wear them. At first he did squint a bit sometimes, as his eyes were adjusting, but it only lasted a few days. For myself every time they change my prescription, even just a little bit, it gives me a horrible headache for a few days until I adjust, so maybe that's what's going on with him. If it were me I'd give it 2 or 3 days and try to let him adjust, taking a break from them here and there throughout the day, and if he were still complaining then I'd take him in again or at least call.

Actually, I just realized tomorrow is Friday, so I'd actually call tomorrow before the weekend to check and be sure. I hate having to worry about stuff like that all weekend.
Sorry, I was probably no help at all!

This may or may not be true, but DH loves telling the story of when he first got glasses when he was 4. He swears up and down that he remembers wearing them for the first time, and how he thought it was all wrong, the corrected vision. His vision was so bad, he had gotten used to things being blurry, etc, that the corrected vision made things not like he was used to, and therefore something wasn't right. So, take that as you will lol!!!

Actually Julie, I was wondering EXACTLY this same thing. His brain is only 4, it's not like it KNOWS what things are supposed to look like, the only experience he has is what everything has looked like.

I bet it is hard for him to explain if they are still blurry or now clear. I, too, get headaches when I get a new script. Also, my sun glasses are my old script and when I go from those to the new script, I have to squint a bit.
