I had Josh's meeting with the school today. At first they did not want to agree that Josh needed the services. I was about to lose it. Because he understood so much and could name 4 colors they thought that there was nothing wrong. They school psychologist had to reiterate how he reacted at the evaluation. In the end they reluctantly signed the paperwork. Josh starts pre-k Monday. Still nervous about how all of this is going to go.
That sounds like pretty much what I was complaining about with Colby's upcoming eval, that they think if the child is minimally understood, no services are needed. I'm SO GLAD they decided to give him services! It's such a disservice when they don't at an early age, fix things NOW rather than wait til later!!
Oh forgot a big old for Noelle and pooping on the pot!! Yay!
So glad that they decided to give him services....silly that it even was in question. I hope he has a fabulous time!!
I must have totally missed Laurie saying she was pregnant with #5 - just saw her ticker.
OhMyGosh, Are you serious? Wow, I'm sorry they stressed you for a bit. Glad they are offering services, even if it was reluctantly. This is just one more reason for you to get that eval by a developmental pedi. They legally can't ignore what the Dr says, regardless of their funding issues. :bighug:
Yay Lucy!! And funny about what she's worried about.
Glad Josh had a good eval eventually at least.
Brain's "helping" made me laugh.
I'm with Peg on not knowing whether to be mad or amused by getting taken to jail, lol.
Got M to take tylenol and he's acting normal again, though I think the fever is coming back. And yes, I admit it, I am so enjoying just letting him lay on the couch and watch TV and not having to play. Bad Mommy, lol!!
So very tired. Hope I can participate more tomorrow. Missed you guys.
wooohooooooooo noelle!!!!!!!!!!! and ruth......i used to run around here keeping jack on , too.......but then i had to start nursing him in his room.......be lucky you can nurse the boys in "public".......jack will not latch if there is anyone around......he is a nursing stinker!!!!!!!!!!!LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi tracy, hi heather, and emily glad miles is feeling better!!!!!!!
Stopping in for a hello!
been a busy day over here
A goat hair I pulled out of my chin was GRAY!!!!!!!!!!!! GAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm turning into my MOTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, better now!
Hi Kelly! Love your ticker!
Mel, I hope you get much better sleep tonight and are back on tomorrow!
Heather, we still got toys everywhere, meant to say that earlier!
Colleen, I have made red velvet cake, but can't remember if it had an aftertaste...always a good reason to have hot chocolate though!
Emily, hopefully Miles's fever will be all better...I know that was one of the things going around here....higher fever and lethargy, not any other symptoms. Hope tomorrow he's back to his well self!
I made a red velvet cake from scratch once (back when I had a life before kids). It was a total PITA, but really yummy, no nasty aftertaste.
Ok, about the bag of Chocolate chips. I ate the whole bag through out the course of the day yesterday, like a 5 hour span of time. And they were Ghirardelli milk chocolate chips, so it was like overindulging on hershey's kisses, not nasty semi-sweet TollHouse. LOL
Wow, just typing out birthday wishes made me stop and think. In July I will have been a part of this board for 4 years. That is a long stinking time to yack with a bunch of ladies almost every day that you've never 'met'.
oh, i know, mel... i was actually thinking the other day that i joined pg.org back in june or july of 2006. it's been almost 5 years. and i'm pretty sure i 'met' julie (and all the other TTC 1st time bunch) pretty close to the beginning of that time.
Couldn't be happier to have spent/will spend every day with all of you either! :bigarmhug:
Tag teamed by Thing 1 and Thing 2 at 4:29 this morning. Thing 1 is back to sleep, Thing 2 thinks the day should begin. On a happier note, we all STTN.
good morning ladies........
mel........i joined when lucy wasn't nursing.......and found the everything breastfeeding board..............but that wasn't my home.......i didn't find my home till i found out i was pregnant with abby......it is amazing..i talk to you ladies more than i talk to my own mom!!!!!!!!!LOL!!!!!!!!! i still think we need to plan a huge meetup........someday!!!!!!!
i'm glad everyone slept through........but the early wake up stinks.........do you have room darkeners???
if jack wakes at 5:30 ........he nurses back to sleep...but it's funny what a difference 30 minutes makes, if he wakes at 6am.......no go....he will nurse but not fall back asleep.......:/
alright, done pumping.....must go feed everyone, including myself!!!!!!!! i'm starving!!!!!
morning ladies!!!!!! already on time out 4 or 5 already...gonna be a good day!!!!!!
yep......can't believe it's been so long that we've 'known' eachother!!!! thank you guys for being there for me when i need you.......and love our chit chat sessions!!!!!!!
we had another semi rough night last night...ty was up again and and wouldn't let me put him back down again.....on my second cup of coffee right night.......need to make another pot ....lol
on a good note...i finished alyssa's bday skirt last night....i'll try to post pics later.....i think i'm gonna heat bond a matching shirt with a big number '3' on it!!!
Peg, I have a better idea that would be cuter and just as easy. Take an old tee shirt in a coordinating color and cut out a number 3. Leave the edges raw and zigzag stitch it onto her shirt. You would just have to use something as a backing on the inside of the shirt, but that is easy. If you have an old bed dust ruffle, the part that goes over the box springs would work perfectly.
Our new babies. Aren't they cute?
4:29...wayyyyy too early!!
Peg, can't wait to see pics, and I love the littlle appliqued shirts, and really love them with the zig zag edging! My sewing skills are horrible and I can't add my sewing mess to my dirty house right now, so I ordered the kids a shirt after I won one.
I was so leery of joining an online group...but I got so obsessive about ttc that I found myself on p.org every day. I absolutely remember Julie, Ruth, JP, KelleBelle and others, but was always too shy to post over there. Then when I had the m/c I became pretty active in TTCAL, but was hesitant to join in here until well into the 2nd tri...well, plus I worked then and wasn't supposed to be online.
i have interfacing...no problem....and i picked up a couple of plain tshirts on sale....i'm gonna make some disney ones.....but i think for her birthday i'm gonna cut out a 3 in the matching fabric in the skirt and just heat bond it....ir'll only take me about 10 minutes if that....it's really not that hard...and you don't have to worry about the raw edges but if i feel enthusiastic maybe i'll zig zag around the edges too ;)...i'm so bad at zig zagging though...i tend to screw it up
karrie.....love the chicks!!!!
awww, karrie!!!! they're adorable!!!!!!
there is not enough chocolate in this house. we're all sick. everyone was up by 7am. but no one went to sleep before 9pm last night. i was up almost every hour, including BEING up from 3:30-4:30am. :help:
Awe so cute Karrie. Good thing chickens get ugly. I remember way back when we got chicks. They were totally for the freezer and all I kept thinking was how stinking cute they were, but then they matured. LOL
this isn't the greatest picture cause it was taken with my phone...and it looks a lil crooked but that's the way it's hanging on the hanger i think ....lol
you can't really see it in the picture but one of the fabrics has little hearts and things on there....i think i'm gonna use that fabric to make her tshirt!!!!
Mel, sorry for the early wake up but at least that was the first one. I hope you went to bed at a decent time last night.
I love the semi-sweet chocolate chips. Maybe I'm weird.
Candace, I can't believe they got arrested!?! Can't wait to hear the whole story.
I hope Aidan and Miles feel better soon. And any others that are sick too that I missed reading about.
I didn't start posting here until June 2008 but I was reading way before that. It's crazy to think how long it's been.

Ah, now I understand, I thought you were going to use an iron on 3. I didn't mean to zigzag the edge, I meant that's how you stitch it on the shirt, It looks really cool when the edges of the applique start to fray, and the zigzag keeps it from fraying all the way as opposed to a straight stitch. KWIM?
LOVE the skirt Peggy!!!!!!!
Mel, it is a good thing they get ugly. Hopefully we won't be slaughtering any of these any time soon though. As long as they stay nice they'll be for eggs. We're planning on getting our broiler chickens next spring.
Awe Ruth, Bighug:
Peg, that is an awesome skirt. You did a fabulous job. Please tell me that fabric came already patched together and you did not sew those individual squares. I'll be mighty jealous of you if you did.
Oh yeah, and not sure when I can pop in today and tomorrow b/c dh took off work for a couple of days and is home. He's still asleep right now, after a long trip and a long day of avoiding the law.
I don't know how he and FIL avoided charges...they actually weren't arrested (thank God!!!) - it was some crazy drama. They honestly didn't know that they couldn't buy tickets within 2700 yards of the gate. They just parked and started looking for tickets.
DH said people kept approaching them trying to sell tickets for $400 each and they kept saying no and finally decided to walk back up the road where they had seen some other people selling tickets. Well about halfway there some other guy came and sold them a pair of tickets for $150 - less than a minute later the cops were on them telling them to come to the patrol car. Took their mug shot, seized their IDs... but they didn't actually SEE the transaction, and SEARCHED them for their tickets. DH had put his badge in his pocket and FIL had put his on his zipper on his jacket, but it was inside his jacket. So they took dh's ticket, but somehow missed FILs...they also "caught" the guy who sold them the tickets.
Turns out all of these people selling tickets there were UNDERCOVER COPS. They were loading up the cars with other "scalpers" to take down to the station, but for some reason, the sherrif told the other guy to drive on, his car was full, and then he told dh and fil to come home. They promplty told him they were not going home, they had driven 5 hrs that morning from NC to watch the Masters and they were going to watch it!!!
Lots more drama after that (including another almost-arrest/another lost ticket $150), but they eventually got in, and made it home safely by 10pm last night.
And Julie, the US Open and Women's US Open has been here in Pinehurst a couple of times, and YES, everybody goes there to work and/or rents their houses out!!!
Last night was just slightly better than the night before. At least I had the common sense to go to bed at 9pm. Poor Lana is exhausted - her cold is wearing her out but keeping her from sleeping well. She didnt sleep for more than 45 min at a time at daycare yesterday - she passed out on the way home. She woke up around 7pm, i bathed and nursed her and she was right back down. She's just so full of snot...I know it's just a cold, but I'll be glad when it's done.
mmmm. ghiradelli choc chips. I use them to make Kelly's chocolate chip cookies (they will forver be known as that, btw :D) and they are soooo good.
I cant stand red velvet cake - which is weird b/c i love chocolate cake. They are the same, right - just with dye? IDK - i always think it has a strange aftertaste.
Peg - the skirt is adorable! love it!
Ruth - :bighug:
That's crazy Candace!!!
