Don't be so hard on yourself! You've had two babies in 3 years so your bodies been through a lot! It will bounce back though, you sound determined to make that happen. Just remember to take time for YOU every day, because you deserve it!! It really does wonders for me.

Ugh so sorry Kelly, I'm in the same place. Been sick for a month and feel pretty gross about myself, I'm not "bouncing back" as well as I did after Ollie and all of my hair is still falling out. I'm not sure why I'm so sick, it's like a bad cold. I went to the dr. about the cough and he gave me an inhaler, it went away for like 2 days, then CJ got it, now I'm full blown again.

Anyway, I hope you feel better soon and I know it's hard but it's still early to be back to post baby selves, we'll get there!

I thought you were describing ME there for a sec! Except I'm not to the laughing stage yet...I'm in the, "I'm fat and ugly anyway, so I'll eat more food!" category.

Julie, I can copy and paste and I also use I. Ex. (which dh and my sis berate me for at every given opportunity! ROFL )

Very long night. Wade seems OKAY this morning. He was running a fever around 99 - 100 last night. His eye infection is really bad and I think that is throwing me for a loop because he LOOKS so sick. He's still coughing some and still congested in his head, but I don't think it is in his chest. I tried to give him a treatment last night and he fought me tooth and nail...when he was sick he just laid there and sucked it in! So I think he'll be fine. Thanks for asking!

Hi Dani!

Oh yeah, and Julie, let's see that blue dress!

I just think if you are a woman, as you get older your body image just naturally goes down. Naturally because we are just bombarded with what the "perfect" woman looks like, tall, skinny, usually blonde hair, well dressed, manicured, perfect hair, etc. And she's 22. So no matter what you might say as far as not falling into the trap of what a woman is "supposed" to look like, it's really hard not to. My bottom line is, Joe thinks I'm beautiful, so even though I'm not keen on myself, he's happy......but even if our hubs love the way we look, it's still relative and we need to be happy. Sooooooo, the circle continues around, lol!

Yeah and again, all yous who get out the door early, kudos...need to leave at 8:30 for Colby's field trip, and it's like a goat rope. Sounds like you are enjoying your own goat rope over there Mel, lol!

It about broke my heart at the office when they were getting her blood. She was trying so hard to be a big girl and not cry, but as soon as the nurse left she bursted out in tears because her finger hurt. Sad And Peg, I think you are right about the genetics thing...both of my parents and dh's dad are on cholesterol medication and that's what she asked me...if the grandparents had cholesterol issues and I told her yes.

Awwww, she was so brave! Interesting about the cholesterol news.

How is Wade this morning??

I hear you about the meds, too. Sad I couldn't believe it when the pharmacist told me that my DH's meds were $120 - for a one month supply! And then she asked me about some kind of coupon for one of them - doctor's offices were apparently just handing them out from drug reps... so I called the doctor's ofc and the receptionist was like, sure, I've got a whole stack here. Might have been nice to know on FRIDAY!!!!! :violent2: At least the really, really nice tech at Walgreens said that we have 7 days to bring it in - but now I have to pack up the kids yet again and drive all the way across town twice. Still worth it, but things like that are just 10x more inconvenience now...

We're catching about 60% on the potty. She's like Jekyl and Hyde, I swear.... thankfully for the past few days we've seen a lot more of Hyde. Smile

Next to Vegas, FL is the worst in terms of housing values due to this foreclosure BS. But, foreclosures and short sales in the area have just killed the value. *fingers crossed* we don't have to drop it too much more...

Ouch! I'm SOOOO sorry you're 'forced' to sell right now. I feel kind of stuck here, but at least we have the option of just sticking it out and hoping the market bounces back. Are you in a huge hurry to sell? Hopefully you can keep the price there for a while longer.

:wavehello: Hi Dani!! Biggrin My hair is still falling out, too. I was glad to read that, because I was starting to wonder. Don't you think 6 months pp is long enough??? Sorry for the sickies. I'm guessing some of the stressful things going on probably make it harder for our bodies to bounce back.

Kids could be waking any second, so here are the boys' stats (since I know everyone has been waiting with baited breath ). Hard to believe they're six months already!!!

Brian is 50% all around - but unfortunately he was 60% in weight and height two months ago. Sad His pedi didn't say anything about him slipping off the curve a little, but I guess it's not that big of a difference, AND I wasn't BF them as much 2 months ago... his pedi did make a comment about how VERY active Brian is. I'm thankful he's such a good-natured baby, because he has TONS of energy. Micah has a 'normal' amount of energy for a baby (which is a lot!), but Brian makes Micah look like a couch potato. lol

Weight: 17 lbs. 1 oz.
Length: 26.5 in
Head: 43.5

Micah is still a big boy, so unusual for twins to be this big!
Weight: 18 lbs. 13 oz (75%)
Length: 27.5 in (80%)
Head: 44 cm (50%)

This was the first check-up I've had to take all three of them by myself, and I am shocked and amazed and THANKFUL that it is the smoothest of all the check-ups we've had! Micah didn't even cry for the first shot and only whimpered for a second or two at the second shot. Brian didn't cry that long... it was so funny, though, because they both looked at the nurse with extremely injured expressions - they totally knew she was the one who hurt them and they were like, 'i thought we were friends! what happened?'

Oh, and I asked the pedi his personal opinion about whether or not to do a helmet for Brian, and he said without hesitation that he absolutely would NOT do a helmet. It made me feel so much better, because he is the one who recommended the helmet in the first place! He said that he always looks at the forehead first and Brian's is completely symmetrical, which it is now. So I'm feeling much better about it now...

OK, Noelle's waking up.

Has anyone had any luck putting fresh, non-frozen chicken in the crock pot?

Finally going to break down and go to Urgent Care today while Miles is in school. My right ear is completely clogged and the congestion is moving down to my chest (normal progression of an illness for me) but not leaving my head and my tonsils are still incredibly swollen.

And, like PJ said the other day, Mother's should NOT be allowed to have coughs.

morning ladies.

Woot, I see Dani has joined us Yahoo

on body image, definitely haven't bounced back with this one, with Aidan I was 8lbs below pre-preg weight by 2 weeks PP. But I am in a much better way this time, so I'll take the trade, but I wouldn't mind losing the elephant butt stomach.

I joined WW yesterday, I just need to lose about 10lbs, I can't believe how many extra points you get for BFing, but even then, I went over yesdterday, it sure shows how much I was eating lol.

Today we're going to the indoor playground, but after William's 2 month check. Not looking forward to those shots.

Julie- I love the choice of outfit for pics, my gawd she's adorable.

ok i have to get off my butt now. I won't be around much today booooo

awwww, LOVE that pic, Julie!!

nak

i have to tell you all really quick about my CRAPPY night. So the boys had shots yesterday and missed their third nap (after I had to wake them all to leave for the pedi) and had a hard time settling down, understandably. But Brian woke up at 1am so I nursed him, but then he was up 30-45 min later (I don't always looks at the clock because it's so depressing). Nursed him again, but thought somewhere in my foggy mind that he felt a little damp to me. He was up AGAIN 30-45 minutes later, so this time I realized that his diaper had leaked and here i keep shoving a boob in his face. lol Took him downstairs and my DH hadn't pulled the inner tab over far enough. Sad So got ready to change his dipe and he peed everywhere. ugh. changed his dipe and got him a new outfit. Decided to make him a bottle so I could hopefully get some sleep... while making it, Micah wakes up. Nurse him, put him back down. Brian is still waiting patiently. So I give him the bottle and while he's taking it, he poops in his dipe. unbelievable. we go back downstairs and lets just say he wasn't finished yet. finished, changed dipe, back upstairs and it's been over and hour at this point. soooooo tired.

Thanks on the photo. Trying to get her to wear girly stuff, that headband last ten minutes, then she took it off.....the other day she had in clippies, before we got into where we were going, those came off.

Sorry you are still sick, Kelly.

On body image, I dont a good one on myself at all. Then my sis asked me to wear this little peice of a dress at her wedding and I have been working out for just about 3 weeks now, I can breathe better and I can tell I feel better, that first week was ROUGH.........It is still trying to find time for me to just work out. but 20 mintues of video and cheyenne 'works' out with me.....It is super cute. but I do have to stop to get them stuff and so I just pause, get what they need and go back.

Colleen, I lived with the bed bugs last year and itchy doesnt even cover that.....:violent2:

oh crap, I gotta take wyatt in two hours to tour the school for kindergarten. I gotta go shower. I just looked at the time...... will be back after 11.......

lyssa didn't know the plus sign either so they decided to call it a 't' instead...and the nurse said that not many of the 3 years olds can do it 'at all' but they always try anyway!!!

yay for good stats...glad her bloodwork came back good....i think they do they cholesterol so early because they have found that alot of high cholesterol in adults is actually linked to genetics alot of pedi's are trying to screen for it early cause the earlier it's caught the easier it is for them to treat I think!!!

Had to pipe in about the cholesterol thing.. I inherited a genetic form of high cholesterol. A defective gene doesn't filter my liver's cholesterol production like it should. Because of that I have very high cholesterol. My total cholesterol is 501  . I found out when I was about thirteen and my dad had his first heart attack at the age of 34. I am 5'10" and weigh 150lbs, so I am right were I should be weight wise.

Both of my siblings got lucky and didn't inherit it. I have to have my kids screened very soon, I have just been a ninny about it though. Mostly because I am scared of what they are going to try and treat them with. I would NEVER put my kids on cholesterol medicine. It is not well tested in children and I myself have such horrible muscle pain from taking it. I am currently off of it, trying to find something that doesn't make me feel like a 100 year old lady.

Now.. if you are a carrier of the gene and your husband is also, your children can inherit a really really bad form of hypercholesterolima. Here is where I went as a child http://www.hopkinschildrens.org/tpl_rlinks_nav1up.aspx?id=386 , check out the story on this page. Those kids are the ones you hear about having heart attacks in elementary school. And most of the time you have no idea until its too late.

I am going to just try and keep my kids as healthy as possible. It is especially important if one of them has inherited this. For me 5 lbs of weight gain = 100 or so extra points on my total cholesterol number.

ETA: My dad passed away at the age of 49 from a stroke. He had a million other risk factors for heart disease though (besides the high cholesterol). He smoked about two packs a day, had high blood pressure, kidney disease, you name it. So making it to 49 was sort of a miracle for him.

Makes me realize that if you abuse your body you are going to pay for it eventually. (not that I have to tell anyone that Smile )

Good morning.

Scary about the cholesterol in kids. Sad

Candace, I'm glad Wade seems to be doing better today.

Ruth, so sorry for such a crappy night. Sad

Julie, that outfit will be perfect! Daphne is such a doll!

I have a terrible body image right now too. I had no problem getting back to pre-pregnancy weight and size after every other kid. This last one is just hard for some reason. Probably cuz I'm old now. lol

Colleen, we need to leave at 7:45 and the school is 5 minutes away. I'm tired of the new schedule because I do not move in the mornings. It takes me a good hour before I'm ready to start running around, nevermind leave my house. Abigail wakes me up around 6:45, so by the time she's up, I have maybe an hour to get everyone dressed and out the door, and 50% of the time that means I have to wake Jax, whose preferred time to sleep is 7:30. And, he is just like his momma, he doesn't like to move in the mornings either.

Ruth, ROFL I KNEW you would be the only one to get the avatar comment.
Glad the trip to the pedi was a success, hopefully, you will get many more of them and soon you won't give a thought to running an errand with 3 kids. Smile
Crazy night lady. Do you really think that one day we will look back on all this and be sad that it's over?
Oh and Jax and Abs have both flucuated on the percentile charts, but maintained a curve with their own growth. That is totally normal for 'mostly' breastfed infants. If you take that stupid (meaningless) percentile chart you would think nothing of his stats, because he has grown in length and weight. Make sense?

:wavehello: Dani, good to see you around.

Abigail is refusing her morning nap, but totally grumpy.

Oh yeah, I was going to comment on the growth chart thing. Ethan has yo-yo'd between 10% and 25% on his weight and height for a long time now. And this last time...he was at 10% for height and weight at his 15 month and at his 18 month he was at 10% for weight and 50% for height. It's normal as long as he does rebound at some point. You may have just caught him right before a growth spurt.

Wow, Shannon. I never thought I'd meet another person that had higher cholesterol than me at such a young age. I'm too old to have had my cholesterol tested as a child, but I'd bet mine was high back then as well. I'm playing russian roulette right now. Not on meds because I've been TTC, pregnant or nursing the past 4 years. I should be thinking about weaning Abigail in the next month and get my butt back on some meds, but I'm not going to. I'll let her wean on her own and if it takes until she is 3, then so be it. My doctor thinks I'm being stupid and careless. I probably am.

To the bolded. Honestly, I think a lot of it is in the genetics, I've known many people that have totally abused their body and never paid for it. My father's family is filled with a bunch of men who have smoked multiple packs a day for 65+ years and drink booze on a daily basis for almost as long and all have lived into their 80s.

max hated the morning bus ride.......

I wish I didnt have to wake Josh up. School starting at 9:30 sounds nice. Josh's school starts at 8:30. It is on the other side of town so I have to wake him up at 6am just to make it in time.

i have to tell you all really quick about my CRAPPY night.

Busy night mama. I dont know how you do it, but you do it so well.

Not much going on over here. Have to get my lazy butt to cleaning finally today.

Kelly- dont be so hard on yourself. You havent had much time to worry about yourself with two young ones. I lost the baby weight and then some finally but I still feel like poop. It will get better.

Oh Mel, I totally agree, but I have a problem with people that KNOW they have the world against them (like my dad) but still abuse their body. My paternal grandfather (my Dad was adopted, so unfortunately I did not get these genes) has drank like a fish almost every day since 15 and he just turned 83

Every cardiologist I go to tries to put my on the highest dose of Statins that they offer, every time I get severe muscle pain. But, it lowers my cholesterol to around 200. So, they don't really care about the side effects, they got what they wanted. I have yet to find a foward thinking cardiologist that wants to try something, anything, different then statins with me.

I told them that I want them to show me long term studies that say these meds are safe for a 34 year old women to take for the rest of her life. They only have studies for older people and for short periods of time. I guess I am playing Russian Roulette too! I don't think it is irresponsible, I need to function, and I want something that is safe.

Who did you inherit your high cholesterol from?

My mother's family. Her brother died of a massive heart attack the day before his 40th b-day. Her father died in his early 50s after several heart attacks. My mom had a triple bypass at the age of 52, it was supposed to be a quad, but when they got in, they had to replace a heart valve and restructure part of her heart wall due to many 'smaller' heart attacks that she had over a period of 2 weeks. She then was on coumadin to control the artificial valve, had a stroke like 7 years later then she died at 67 from Multiple Myloma, which I'm convinced is from taking rat poisoning every day for 15 years.

How would you pronounce the name Maebh? Like Maybe? The old show Arrested Development had a kid by that name, but would someone name their kid that? Mayb?

Didn't read back.

Gonna stuff our faces quick before taking the kid to school.

Went to the doc and he gave me Zithromax (abs): Take 2 pills the first day then 1 pill every day for the next 4 days.

Does that mean 2 at the same time or just 2 sometime today?

Didn't think to ask the doc or the pharmacist.
