score on the joovey!!!!!!!!! i saw a valco double on craigslist it took all my will power to NOT buy it......$125...........i should just buy and resell it......it looked like it was the 2007 model.....and it looked mint!!!!!!!!! gahhhhhhhhhhh i need to go see if it's still there.......i love my strollers.....abby still jumps in now and then and lucy sits on the footrest all.the.time.........yes i push 3 kids on the mountain buggy......while dan just walks with nothing!!!!!!!!LOL!!!!!!! oh sorry.......silly tangents.........
good luck with the glider........i've nothing but awesome luck with craigslist purchases.......i hope you have a simple transaction, too!!!!!!!

phew, no tv julie.......now make sure you praise him for NOT making the purchase....then dope slap him for even thinking about making the purchase!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL!!!!!!!!!

shannon......i used to use melaleuca products.......i became a distributor to keep the cost down....but when you are a distributor, you have to keep up with so many points every month which in return cost at a minimum of $75 and that was a couple years ago.....let us know what your research shows........

Colleen, I've noticed you using the phrase "but I'm not bitter" when referring to dan. Are you just being funny, or are you holding a grudge about something that you haven't clued us in on?

I think the cl purchase will be ok, as in I give the guy the money and he gives me the glider NIB. I feel like it's a shady deal because he also has a Storkcraft Hoop glider NIB listed. WHO has 2 gliders NIB laying around and why???? Plus the pick up point is at a storage facility. You know, like a rent-a-garage-stall type of place.

And I'm stoked about the Joovy. I was looking on CL for used ones and they were going pretty high. So, I'm pretty excited that only $50 is coming out of my pocket. Smile That leaves more to stay in my Rebel fund.

oh and WTG Colleen on winning the giftcard.

On today's plate....
1. Drink more coffee
2. Drink some more coffee
3. Grace has her first miniature Michelangelo art class.
4. Hit up the library for another book.
5. Go swimming.
6. Maybe go grocery shopping. Wink
7. And I'm sure we'll have to throw in some Mickey and Barney Christmas somewhere.

Did every other kid on the planet sleep in this morning but mine? Where is everyone? I thought you ladies usually had 10 pages by now. Just kidding. I do have to say though, I've been sucked into the life of pinterest right now. Holy cow did I find some cool things to do with Grace this summer. Not sure if she'll be into making glow-in-the-dark slime, but I think it would be fun. Maybe I'll have to just do it myself.:D Who am I kidding? The girl likes to "cook".

Poor Deb! Hope you get some sleep soon. Your to-do list sounds like fun!

DH has finally picked a Tat... not happy at all with it.. but, it is not my body. I *thought* he wanted to do something original and different.. nope... he wants a celtic design... not that I don't like them, but they are soooo over done. oh well.. what can you do? My idea was way, way better!

Got a busy day at work today with lots of meetings (boo!!)

We picked up Kayla from summer camp yesterday afternoon and she LOVES it!! I am so relieved... she can be a bit of a crank butt when she wants to, and very, very shy.

Allie is sleeping like $hit! I am not sure if it is still her throat, or what, but that girl has been up as much as newborn the past few nights! No fever though. Makes it hard to get up at 4am to go to work Sad Coffee, coffee, and more coffee please Wink

What search terms do you use to find stuff on pinterest? For the kids projects?

Shannon - I haven't really gotten into the search. I simply selected Kids on the left hand side of the main screen and then scrolled down through all the main ones that came up. I found fizzing sidewalk chalk and the glow-in-the-dark slime. Another site I found this morning was www.weteachgroup.com. This one has the activities in categories.

And if anyone is interested, one of the blogs I read regularly has a Smart Summer Challenge going on starting next week. Basically you do one "teaching" type activity per day with your child. You sign up on FB at Smart Summer Challenge, but her website is www.pinkandgreenmama.blogspot.com

Hope you got some coffee in you Shannon. Two cups really woke me up this morning. Glad Kayla loved summer camp, but boo to Allie being sick.

Belle got up at five forty (phone being s turf) I put her back in bed and told her it was too early. Fortunately I caught her before she woke Ben. She was up again at six thirty. She got to Ben before I got to her. Oh well. And I don't like coffee Sad

I've got to go grocery shopping. For one thing we need pull ups for her highness that has decided she doesnt like her potty or panties. Sigh.

Any time during the 5am hour is still "nighttime" - this morning I tried to convince Cadence it was still nighttime at 7am when she was in my room telling to get up. It didn't work. ROFL So sorry you girls are getting such early wake up calls!

SCORE on the gift card Colleen...and the mag subscription!! You go girl! I knew what you meant about the "I'm not bitter" comment. As an aside though, even when I am genuinely happy sometimes that dh gets to do something like say, go play golf for 5 hours on a Sunday afternoon, I sometimes have a pity party. Not bitterness and not resentment ... maybe jealousy is the word!!! Smile Even though I am REALLY happy that he gets to do that for him. Anyway!

Ruth, waiting for an update for you. Hope Micah's doing better.

Mel, when are you going to Nashville for your CL finds? I really really really want to go back to Nashville sometime.

Tracy, you said Tyler DID help you with the mod podge and did okay? I've still got all my craft stuff out on the dining room table and I was trying to decide if I should let Cadence help me make something. I wasn't sure she'd be able to the other day. I may give it a try.

Kerri, I have to go to the store today, too. DREADING it.

I don't know what Wade's deal is. He is soooooooooooooo fussy. Sooooooooooooooooooooo fussy. He slept all night last night (11pm-7:30am), but he has been sooooooooooooo fussy the past two days. Just whining whining whining if I'm not holding him. The second I put him down he starts whining.

Hey, does anybody here have any experience with occupational therapy for eating? Think I'm gonna have to do something for Ella. She gags/chokes/struggles to swallow so much. Julie and Ruth, I think I asked before but I'm sorry I can't remember - how long did Colby and Noelle struggle with textures. Did they ever chew their food up and then spit it out?

Oh it worked. I laughed everytime I read it. I was just sitting here last night, and I thought, Hmmmm, Colleen and Dan are a lot like Rick and I, basically never fight and argue. If I was pi$$ed at Rick, I might just throw out a couple snide comments to make me feel better. So, I just thought I'd make sure everything was ok.

Ummm, where's DH at 5:18 these mornings?
Do you have her windows darkened? I remember when Jax was that age, I had a super heavy queen comforter draped over his windows. It was almost as dark as night in the middle of the day.

I really can commiserate with all the early wake-ups, once in awhile Abs does it to me. Fortunately, this morning everyone slept until 7:00 :0

Sorry for all the early wake ups.

Mel, good idea to have Rick go with you to get that glider...it does sound a bit shady. And awesome deal on the stroller!!!!

The boys took me out to their campsite yesterday...it's gonna be awesome! I told DH that he needs to spray it for mosquitos, I was being eaten alive.

Morning ladies
I survived day one of no Dh.. I was full time 14 hours  OY 6am-8pm.. though I sent owen to bed a tad early he was being a butt and I was DONE.
Dark chocolate, wine & I watched Pride and Prejudice from netflix...
I also discovered if I put Owen to nap a hour later I get duel naps! so yesterday I kicked up my feet and read a book (first time in SO SO LONG) and read for 2 hours instead of doing anything "job" related.. was awesome!

anyways a new day .. it'd going to be a hot one! I plan to go to Trader Joes with the kids later.. Owen is super picky eater these days and only eats their granola bars & "colored pasta" (veggie pasta)
when in doubt at least he will eat a granola bar!

is my kid the only one who will not eat mac and cheese? WTH! I have tried them all.. homemade, boxed organic etc.. this time I tried Orangice white cheddar I added chopped spinach and chicken.. everly inhaled it all... Owen eventually ate it.. but with a lot of help and a reward of a Thomas episode. UGHHH

I will try to get a video uploaded today...

I have a dark brown sheet over Owen window right now.. helps a lot and Everly's room gets full sun almost all day and heats up fast and it bright as all get out.. so we have room darkener shades and DH just installed a fan (even though I have A/C). Owen still wakes early though.. today I let him get in bed with me and I handed over my Itouch and he played Angry Birds and Chuggington for half hour Smile

Good job on the gc Colleen!! Woowoooo!!!!!

Sorry for the early wakeups. I'd love just seeing 6am!

Shannon Dh wants a Celtic design too, but he's been talking about it for 7 years, so we shall see!!

Deb did you drink more coffee lol!

Mel good luck on the glider I know it will be just fine!

Have fun at the gym Peg!

Candace Colby couldn't eat what I'd consider normal for his age til 1.5, and even then still had issues. I'm sure it was tied to speech and should have done some OT I think....even still he sometimes has a hard time. How's Ella been doing otherwise???

Sorry I missed stuff that's all I can remember!

Checked out making slime. Not a project for this preschooler who STILL has to taste everything. Maybe next year. LOL

Tried to keep Abs up an extra hour and a half. Momma needs some kid free time today. Only made it an hour. Down at 10:30 instead of 9:30. Hopefully it will be long enough and I may be able to get Jax down a tad early. Shooting for a little before 11:30. Wish me luck.

Colleen that wading pool sounds fun!!! And COOL!!!

Karrie that campsite sounds awesome...well minus the mosquitos lol!!!

So Colby is coming down off a serious contact high and it SUCKS lol!! So I've said DH has been working 14-16 hour days with no days off for the last almost month now. My Mom was here Tuesday-Sunday, DH had his first days totally off on sunday and Monday. So Colby was back to total 100% devoted attention at least when my Mom was here, and when DH was home he at least had someone always sitting with him when he was playing. So today, Dh is back to a 15 hour day, my Mom is gone, and it's the old programming...not such a happy 3 year old today! Doesn't know why I can't go in and sit in the powder room with him holding Daphne while he poops, why I can't play with play doh this.very.second, why he can't go outside this.very.second...and on and on! I did have plans that I scrapped earlier because of weather, but hopefully he'll get over this in a couple days!!

just waiting for everyone to eat their lunch.....and then we are out of here...i'll bring my camera and get some video.....i think all 5 are coming with me!!!!!!!!!LOL!!!!!!!!! oh and massachusetts has a great mass.park passport program......so i print out the forest that we are going to and it has a pic to color and a little "education" at the bottom........you can have the ranger sign it, and print out stickers ........pretty stinkin cool................there are over 60 state forests in mass.......we won't hit all of em........but this is a fun way to keep track of where we've been!!!!!!!!!LOL!!!!!!! i'm so cheesey!!!!!

Man Julie... that sucks, my oldest is like that. STILL at age 6.5 wants someone to sit with her while she poops

I bit the bullet and finally bought some natural stuff. I read reviews, checked the rating on skin deep and cross checked prices. the site with the best prices for pretty much everything is www.vitacost.com. LOVE that site!

Here is what I got:

Body/Face wash replacement:
Dr. Woods Shea Vision Pure Black Soap with Organic Shea Butter -- 32 fl oz

Shampoo:
Giovanni Magnetic Energizing Shampoo™ -- 2 fl oz (just trying it out)

Conditioner:
Giovanni Magnetic Restruxturing Conditioner™ -- 2 fl oz

Kids Shampoo & body wash:
Nature's Baby Organics Vanilla Tangerine Shampoo and Body Wash -- 16 fl oz

Kids detangler (Kayla has the thickest hair of ANY kid I have ever known! Kelly - she looked just like Everly at that age Wink ):
Nature's Baby Organics™ Conditioner and Detangler Vanilla Tangerine -- 16 fl oz

Body Lotion:
NSI Extra Virgin Certified Organic Coconut Oil -- 16 fl oz (heard GREAT stuff about using as a moisturizer)

All of this came to a grand total of approx. $41 with tax. I added a bottle of vitamins we needed to this to get the total to the $49 we needed for free shipping Smile

Phewww... that was a lot of work !! Hope I like it all!!

I also ordered some mineral makeup samples from Silk Naturals and some bentonite clay powder from bulk herb store. This is supposed to work great at a primer for oil control, which is a HUGE problem of mine.

Between all this and the Fresh 20 menu I have been doing at home, I think I have met my new years resolution ;-), go as natural as possible!

Bradley had MAJOR food texture issues. He would not eat thick or chunky baby food and that is when I first noticed the problem. Then as he got older, if I got him to try a new food, he would gag so much that it would make himself throw up. He could not even chew up the food and spit it out because the minute it went in his mouth he started gagging. He did that up until he was 5..... It was then that we were finally able to get him to try foods that "normal" 5 year olds eat, like hamburgers, pizza, sausage, muffins. There are still a lot of foods that he does not like and getting him to try a new food is a bit of a struggle. He still cannot eat a hotdog and bum together because he says he does not like how it feels in his mouth. I think the whole thing kind of traumatized him a bit and made him really reluctant to try new things. For us it was (and still is) a very slow process. I have been bashed repeatedly by family, friends, strangers because they just don't understand why he won't eat normal kid foods and why I fix him a whole different meal than I fix DH and I. Like it is my fault or something. Hopefully it is just a small phase Ella is going through.

Jules, I also HATE detox. Good luck to you.

Ooo, it's sunshining and I hear thunder. Yep, this is KY. Must go get Lightening McQueen off the deck. Jax would be broken hearted if he got ruined in the rain.

Colleen, have a BLAST at the splash pad!! What a great State Parks program you all have up there. Smile Hope you get some good vids of the kiddos for our Tuesday Vid thread. :0

Shannon, good luck with all that new soap stuff. Very interested to know how you like it.

Ahhhhhhhhhh, 15 minutes and going strong. Jax went down for a nap at 11:30 without a fuss at all. Abs should continue sleeping for at least another 1 1/2 maybe 2 hours.

Mel - hope they stay asleep for you!

Anyone ever used henna hair color? I am thinking of this:

I have seen some amazing brown hair results from henna, but am too chicken to try

I don't think it's cheesy either Colleen, it's cool!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's quite a haul Shannon! KUP on how you like it!!!! You know grease is an issue of mine too, so let me know how the clay works! I used henna hair color WAY long ago, and I remember it was pretty much the same coverage as the other stuff! Not sure why I don't use it now...oh wait, does it color gray just as well?? I think the answer is yes....I want to say it was nice because you didn't really get ROOTS, it just kind of faded out!

WHOHOOOOOo for a successful naptime Mel!! Any more on the speech front?

Emily, I remember you talking about Bradley before...and it makes me think too here that some texture issues are just going to be around for a while. Does he still not want to touch certain foods either?

Have fun Kristi!! Safe travels!!!!

Mel - good luck

Jules - :bigarmhug: I'm sorry you have to go through that with Colby right now.

Oh, and Mel, DH is sound asleep at 5:18. He has NEVER heard her get up. And DH is already getting up at 6 to leave for football. Plus, even if he did get up, Grace would have nothing to do with him. She'd make him go get me. Tried it before. Many. Times.

Colleen - have a great time at the state forest w/ all 5 kids. You guys are going to have a blast. When I was still in Michigan, I used to do the kid programs at the state park during the summer. Monday nights I'd take kids fishing.

Kerri - My camping trips will involve the living room. Your site sounds awesome.

:wavehello:

Off to tackle grocery shopping now.

I'm having serious considerations of dying my hair...All of my grey is RIGHT in the front.. and now that its short its even more obvious.. sigh.. I found a box of dye in my bathroom cabinet and called Clairol, it expired last June.. after a three year shelf life.. I guess you could say its old Blum 3 I just don't know how hair dye would react to the amount of time I would spend in the pool.. and I'd probably just do one of the 28 washes dealies...

Colleen have fun!!

Shannon, I was gonna mention, I feel you on how you were saying when the motrin quit and the fever came back she'd throw up. That's Belle to a t. She doesn't have to have a stomach virus or anything.. just a high fever and she'll puke ... bah..

Well, both kids are down, so I think mommy's gonna nap too.. may be brave enough to try the pool by myself with both kids this afternoon...

Kristi, have fun with the 4h stuff! Hopefully you get some down time to visit with us!

Shannon, that's a lot of stuff! KUP on what you think of it all.

Colleen, the parks thing sounds like a lot of fun! Cheese and all! lol

I know there was more, just can't remember now.

I took a nap during my lunch. I've been so tired lately...like 1st tri exhaustion (definately not that though!)...not sure what's going on with me. Sad

But, my boss brought in some ice cream bars for everyone this afternoon to celebrate the first day of summer. It was yummy!

haha okay now I remember why I stopped using henna, once I started going gray lol!!

Emily same here, started nice and early on the grays!! I won't even discuss the lady bit area at age 39 when gray on my head started around 25!! OLD LADY lol!!!

Yay and boo for the last gym class Peg! What does Alyssa think of that, you think she'll miss it?

Have fun shopping Deb, as fun as grocery shopping can be lol!

Kerri dye it if you want! But I'd get a new box lol. I'd just keep the head out of the water if it was me, but then I know that's half the fun!!

Waiting for the prime shipping delivery of that bath seat for D to try out with Colby in the tub...not sure how it'll turn out, he's a fruitball with water anymore, hates it. I mean as far as getting his hair washed, sprinklers, baby pools, etc. So it might be too tight quarters when I go to wash his hair and her in the tub...we shall see!

Me Too!! I don't even know how grey I am, been dying my hair for about 10 years.. I think I have a decent amount in the front and by my ears.

I have been doing the 28 day washes every three weeks. I wash my hair too often for anything less (sometimes twice a day!) I like to have a shower before bed sometimes and depending on how tired/greasy I feel when I wake up at 4am, I might have another.

Allie is my pain/fever/scared puker. That kid can puke sooooo fast it is amazing how she had summon up something so quickly. The motrin would wear off at 5 hours.. have to wait til 6 to redose and I was not willing to do the tylenol thing. Here comes the puke! Not sure if I ever told you this, but she also passes out at the drop of hat, from holding her breath! Started at 2 months old and peaked around 1.5ish.

i bet they'll do great julie....maybe the tight quarters will help him sit still for his hairwashing.

and i don't think alyssa quite understands that it was the last time she'll be there......i'm sure everytime we go to that shopping center thought...she'll remember....she still remembers the time we left marburn curtains because she wasn't listening to me and that was almost 2 years ago cause ty was a baby.....it's 2 stores down from the lil gym...she reminds me of that time every week when we go...lol

karrie.....booo on the tiredness......when was the last time you actually got a good nights sleep.....i'm sure your kids tag team you at night

kerri.....sorry...no help on the hair color....i go to the salon and let them take care of it...lol...enjoy your nap

Kerri, step away from the drug store hair color. ESPECIALLY the 28 day washes. Most counter top color has metalic dyes in it. Metalic dyes are notorious for picking up green from chlorine.

So Wade has been screaming for two days. Finally realized he was hungry. Poor baby. Sad

I don't give him solids every day, but he ate them up today. It didn't occur to me that I was so engorged because he hadn't been eating well.
