Have any of you ever used a head hunter for job seeking? Either used one for recruting or as a hiring manager? Just curious if there is a stigma with them.

OKAYYYYY, the office called back and asked if I could come in today.
I can't (car is in the shop being serviced before our trip this weekend).

I have an appointment at 8:45 Thursday morning...

Allie - i'd love to get Grace on video, but she freezes every stinking time we try.

Shannon & Colleen - :bigarmhug:

Candace - ugh..sorry you couldn't get in today.

I feel like crap. I think I have a stomach virus. We were supposed to go swimming at the babysitter's house today and Grace had an art playdate. Rescheduled the playdate, and the babysitter still wanted Grace so DH took her. It's nice to just sit here in a quiet house.

Kat, you asked about our animals...we have 1 dog, 6 cats (4 stay outside), 10 chickens and now 3 ducklings. And DH is planning on getting a couple cows next spring.

Mel, I hope you find that rocket shirt! You've been misplacing the kids' clothes a lot lately...

Shannon, :bigarmhug: I'm so glad you're going to talk to someone about those anxiety feelings.

Sorry for the rough night Julie, Emily and Peggy.

Good luck today Paula!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Candace, I'm glad you're going in to the doc.

Not much going on here. The big boys are staying with MIL & FIL tonight, along with their cousin so it'll be a quiet evening at home. Too bad it's so freaking hot out!

Rox way back in the day I was a headhunter...I know at least then there was no stigma, it took the pressure off of HR to weed thru resumes, waste time on interviews, etc. They were only sent the best of the best who had already been 'pre-interviewed' to weed out the people good on paper but doofuses in person lol.

Deb I hope you feel better!!!!!!!!!!! Rest and relax girl!!

Candace I'm sorry you can't go in today. Sad

Karrie enjoy the quiet evening, I'm sure the boys will have a blast!

Peg sorry about the rough night. Sad It does sound like he's got a touch of something, boo. Well hopefully he'll nap well today and have a GREAT night's sleep tonight! If you go to story time, may it all go very well!

Let us know what the doc says Colleen!!

Hey er'body!! Did anybody have a good night? Makes for a rough day...I know. Here's to naps and surviving until wine-time....or bedtime, whatever your pleasure!

I'm still sickly and my back is killing me, John Henry is mostly better, and Jay has tons of snot still, but I feel we're past the worst of it. Thanks for asking, Mel!

Candace, glad you're getting into the Dr. Thurs....I was a little surprised to hear about the boob pain still going on...it's been too long....

GO PJ!!!! I'll be thinking about ya!!!! Saw a cool saying on Pinterest today..."things fall apart so that other things can fall together".

MAN I love Pinterest!! At some point though I gotta stop collecting all these wonderful things and DO some of them!

I should clarify that if today's appt had been with a doc that I like, I would have called my parents or ILs to keep the kids...BUT, it was with an NP that I really can't stand.

Every time I have ever seen her she has questioned me having kids close together and has made me very uncomfortable. I think I've had 3 appts with her. After the first I swore I would never see her again. Ended up having to see her again out of necessity to have an appt and then again when the doctor who I was scheduled with got caught up at the hospital. Ugh. I will NOT see her by choice if there is any alternative.

Deb...oh, to have a babysitter!! Lol. Jealous! Enjoy your alone time and get some rest and feel better!

Hi Jen, that crud that we had just lingered and lingered and lingered. We are just getting over it after about a month.

And it has been just over a month that my boob has hurt also. Smile

Oh, finally got in my PB account looking for something else..... and found a pic of the bitty twins from when I redid Tivys bedroom. hers stay up on a shelf where she has to ask to play with them. OK, I admit it, I got them more for "me" then her... but they look just like D & T.

OMG Roxie, you are SO right!!!!!!!!!! Those are YOUR KIDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Candace, I remember that NP. Good choice on just waiting, sounds like she'd probably just tell you to suck it up another month anyway!

Couldn't fit any of the outfits on D except sorta this one...and SHOULD have taken a pic of just the clothes before sending them with DH to work for someone who I know will LOVE them lol! Yeah I didn't resize, sorry! And I have heard that Dereon is made for the junk in the trunk woman....for sure it is! The pants fit with some room left!!! The shirt you can see I can't even get her in it lol!!

flying by....

Candace, it just occurred to me that you might get some good help from a LC... at the very least, they'll hopefully know of an ultrasound place nearby that helps with a persistent clogged duct. i would imagine your doc will send you to get an u/s or mammogram or something to make sure it's not something else... although i can't imagine what else it might be? how big is it? has it ever changed in size? (sometimes the ones that i've had that linger - although obviously none have ever stuck around this long, i'm so sorry for you!!!! - will get bigger and smaller as the duct sometimes gets a little milk out and then plugs up again. oh, and does it feel worse when you get a let down?? mine almost always felt worse with a let down because there's more pressure there all of a sudden. :bigarmhug:

a friend is coming over in a bit and the house is trashed. as. always. better go fly around and wave my magic wand. lol

oh, but here's my blog post about taking N to see Winnie the Pooh yesterday. i know most of you probably won't agree with it, but here you go anyway. :neener: lol i know several are planning on going, so here's my two cents about the experience....

I took Noelle to see Winnie the Pooh in the theater today. It was an interesting experience. It was slightly over an hour, and I thought that was probably the longest she could handle. She did great, as far as sitting and being quiet were concerned. I will say that she was much more excited about the fountain outside the theater ("It has new water going straight up in the air!!") than the movie itself.

She has seen the original Winnie the Pooh on DVD and laughed several times through it. For this movie, she didn't even crack a smile. Here are some things I wish I had known or thought about before taking her to see it: [Also, keep in mind that we work pretty hard to shelter our 3 year old from scary things. She doesn't need any more fuel for that fire.]

  • I wish we had avoided the previews. It just added to the length of time we had to sit there, most of it was over her head, and it was definitely NOT the super-duper-G-rated material that previews preceding Winnie the Pooh should be.
  • Disney is trying to copy Pixar by having a little cartoon 'short' at the beginning of the film. I would have skipped that one, too (it was about the Loch Ness Monster).
  • The 'conflict' in the movie itself was based on a misunderstanding about a note Christopher Robin left (spoiler alert ahead... haha). It said that he was going out and would be back soon. Except "soon" was misspelled as "son" and Owl invented this scary monster that was called "Backson." The illustration of Backson was scary! There were a few other scary moments that I thought were completely unnecessary. But (as Al reminded me), Disney isn't afraid to be scary. I remember being really afraid of the evil queen in Snow White. And let's not even get started talking about the truly disturbing movie that is Pinocchio!
  • I've heard of parents screening movies before allowing their children to watch it, and I was foolish to think that something as benign as Winnie the Pooh would be anything but harmless fun. Now I know better. And if I had seen it first, I would have known that it isn't nearly as good as the original. Most of the humor was way over her head.

Overall, I think it was a neat experience for Noelle to experience seeing a movie on the big screen. And the scary moments wouldn't be scary at all to a 5+ year old (and they would likely understand the misunderstanding from the beginning and realize that the monster "Backson" didn't even exist). As much as she begs to watch things on TV at home, I would have thought she'd be over the moon at the theater. But I should have saved my $10. She has more fun reading a book or playing with toys or painting or dancing or playing with the fountains... and that's really the way it should be!

ROFL My thoughts exactly lol!!!

Ruth I liked what you wrote and can totally see the point! FWIW, I have heard parents say you definitely want to arrive late to a movie by around 15-20 minutes....or call ahead and ask how long the previews are to not accidentally miss the start of the movie. Of course this also means entering a darkened theater which might lead to more problems than sitting thru the previews!

Even though it's not your style per say, that outfit looks so cute on her!! Makes her look waaaay to mature though!!

Can't remember if I knew you were a recruiter, Julie. I was too from 1995-1998 or something....I have no idea what has become of the industry since, but it definitely wasn't looked down on then.

Ruth, good to know about Pooh. I think deep down I'm the one that wants to go see a movie, in the cool darkness, with popcorn, cherry Coke, maybe some Milk Duds...and in my dream John Henry sits there quietly for 2 hours with me. I know if I try it, my bubble will burst and I will have wasted $30 or whatever. Maybe next year...

Sounds like Owen could handle Winnie.. LOL we are likely the only parents around who let their 3 yr old watch BBC documentaries on ALLOSAURS on netflix streaming.. yep he enjoys watching "walking with dinosaurs" and shows like that.. complete with carnivores eating other dinosaurs etc... he isn't scared at all.. he is fascinated in knowing more.. he knows all their names and does pretty well in saying them.. and corrects me sometimes. LOL
He also knows what ones are "herbies" Herbivores!

but I am still skipping Winnie... he just can't handle sitting for that long in a theater.. he barely made it through Cars2 and he LOVES CARS!

he does fine at home though ..??

Candace, glad you were able to get an appointment for your boob, sorry you have to wait til Thursday though. I guess it is worth it not to have to see the biatch np though. I remember you mentioning her in the past.

Roxie, those dolls look so much like your kids.

Julie, D looks adorable in ANYTHING but I have to agree that those clothes are not her usual style, lol.

Ruth, sorry the Pooh movie was not all that great, but good job to Noelle for being such a good girl during the movie.

Mel, did you ever find the boden clothes?

Shannon, I hope you are able to find something that works for you. I take welbutrin for my anxiety. A very low dose, and it helps me a lot.

Colleen, I hope you are able to find something that works for you too!

Jen, hope you feel better soon.

Peg, sorry for the rough night, I think a nap is in order for you today.

Emily, sorry about the rough night for you too.

Karrie, enjoy your quiet night Smile

Paula, good luck today!!!! I will be thinking of you.

Deb, that is too funny about Grace spitting. That girl is hillarious!

Ugh, I really need to get my bum out for a run before it gets hot but I am sooooo unmotivated right now. JD woke up at 3:45 to eat and sure enough, like always, Gweny comes plopping down the stairs 15 mins later asking for her chocolate milk and mickey mouse. I told her that it was not morning and she needed to go back to sleep on the couch. Finally got them both back to sleep at 5 but then had to wake up at 5:50 to get ready to take DH to work Sad

It's just the excitement of a theatre I think....JH can sit through a movie at home, but when I took him to a free viewing of Madagascar last winter, he was good for about 10 minutes and then wanted to run around... we left.

Emily, YES, Cadence always wakes up when I feed Wade. GO.BACK.TO.BED. And you go girl, on running.

So after being a hard a$$ on Friday night, C didn't get into our bed on Saturday night, but then Sunday night and Monday night she came back in there and I didn't do anything about it. Sad UGHHHHHH. I love cuddling with her, but I also love comfortable sleep...what to do, what to do....

Mechanic called...$375ish to fix ONE part on the Trailblazer. Perfect.

How is Miles doing, Emily? Maybe he just decided it is time!

Kat, how is Joshua doing?

Cadence peed in the floor randomly yesterday. She really didn't even do that when we first started pting...it was so weird...anyway, back to normal today.

Jennifer I think we did talk about being recruiters! I think now it's even more acceptable, not that it wasn't before. Everyone sends their resume to a 'hiring agency' because so many HR depts don't want to deal with 350 resumes for 1 job!!

Emily oh good grief on the morning!! I'm sorry girl!!! I love River Monsters! We've watched Swamp People a lot before..and that other show that's about that park in the Everglades, where they are always catching gators and hogs lol!!

Totally missed Miles PT'ing! WHOOHOOOOO!!!

Good luck Kerri!

I've run out of ways to entertain a super cranky baby before noon. I swear her incisors are coming in now...WTH with the damn teeth!!

sorry for all the bad nights...

and as far as talking to the doc.....from my conversation with the doc last month.......anxiety is a side effect of the thyroid meds....once the levels are correct i suppose it will all even out......it is just takes time........honestly......i felt great before i took the med......but the bloodwork tells the docs otherwise....

julie.......that was adorable on D.......but like karina always says........she'd look great in a potatoe sack!!!!!!!! LOL........i think the leopard print is adorable!!!!!! she didn't look like she was "working" hard for her $$$ !!!!!!LOL!!!!!!!

Vent ahead - feel free to ignore...

This SUCKS!!! I desperately want to put him in a diaper because *I* don't want to deal with this anymore.

He's doing great. He's at the stage right now that he pees a bit and then runs to the potty so we're going through lots of underwear but also having lots of successes. And he called Dad and told him, "I use the potty now."

But *I* don't wanna do it!!

Annnnd he just peed on the floor.

Chatty much? Busy distracting morning here. Everyone is napping.

Jules, sorry, I'm with Colleen, and maybe it's just the pic and that she doesn't have the top all the way on, but I think it's adorable, and I'm usually more on the conservative side. LOL

Anyone know if there is a way to issue a buyer a paid return label either through ebay or paypal? Don't ask the detes, I'm kind of fuming. The issue has taken up most of my morning, which in and of itself issypays me off. I'd have rather been on here.

Em, just stick with it. No one ever said parenting was going to be easy and this will just be practice for when the real difficult issues come up later. He's doing great, have yourself a coctail and chill out. Hmmm, that was supposed to be a pep talk. ROFL

Don't do it Emily!! I agree with Mel, just stick with it and once he's PT'd you'll look back with fond memories on this time. Nah, not really, but he'll be PT'd lol!

Mel, hmmm, not sure what your ebay issue is, but I have something I think might be similar going on lol! I *think* the only way they can generate a shipping label thru paypal is that method of YOU paying THEM something and they generate a shipping label for the "goods". I'd say send a penny and tell them to print their dern label!

Ooooo gotta go look at stuff I can't buy on MJ lol!!

Colleen I'm hoping stuff gets worked out girl!

Sorry about the dress Kelly! They DO have sewing machines in Europe! ROFL

Oh Mel, for the shipping, can't they just go to USPS.gov and do a shipping label, I do that all the time if stuff isn't thru PP or ebay. You DO have to create an account, but it automatically adds in the sender's address and you just have to populate the recipient, and obviously put in the weight just like on the other sites. Hopefully it'll be as painless as possible!

Checked out the MJ, not a lot seems new, but looking at the Tween stuff can see what's probably sold out in the smaller sizes. This is really cute, is this the top that Everly and Abs have????

Yes, but I'm looking for a way for me to pay for the return label of an item that is being returned to me, instead of just reimbursing the return shipping. Kind of like when you return something to amazon or endless. But, it doesn't exist, so I'll just have to reimburse them.

Okay, I used to be able to copy/paste directly from Picasa. Now I can't without the code...all those mumbo jumbo letters show up instead. lol Still easier than PB, imo...

Colleen, the image codes are on the right hand side where it says, share and it will give you two links - use the bottom...i usually choose the larger "medium" size and hide my album link! HTH!

Oh and in order to do the above, they'd still have to create a USPS account and enter the weight of the item to even figure out how much the shipping is BEFORE hand. Whatever the issue, if you are paying for it, they just need to do a little work!
