Oh the other mothers were good, told the kids they were being mean, etc....they were telling him to go away, would all 3 say at the same time when he walked up to them to run away because here Colby came, said they didn't want to play with him etc. Yeah, heartbreaking stuff.

Mel have FUN!!!!! They will ALL act good on vaca!!!

Colleen, that story just makes me SHUDDER!!!!!!!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gahhhhhhh, I'd totally get the hackles up once I saw the first ant of the season! Now since then, any more really bad ones, or is it just the constant battle to maintain?

Oh and Peg, sorry about the arses at the museum...especially the mothers, that's what always gets me...it's one thing when the mother is at least trying and the kid is still being a turd, but to not even pay attention or to stand at an open activity to hold it for your kid....ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok people am I paranoid?

Everly is 13 months old..
She says:
Momma
Dada
baba
Bye Bye (with a wave)
she tries hard to say dog but points and says DA DA

those are her only "words" is this normal amount? I forget these things.. Dh last night brings up casually that he thinks she isn't talking enough ..I am like WHAT?

he then asks me if I decribe things to her like "blue bird or Yellow Flower" which I do..

paranoid?

I used to take two when I had a cold because thats what the package said. In recent years they have changed to say something like "start out taking only one, if needed a second one can be taken"

You shouldn't need the advil cold and sinus if your allergy med is working. Maybe it is time to try a different one?

Peg & Julie - That is one of my BIGGEST pet peeves, parents who are rude and/or oblivious.

Jules - so sorry. But at least the parents wer talking to them and ot just ignoring it. If I were one of the moms though I probably I would have left. If miles was purposely being mean I'd be so out of there!!!

Now on the flip side I wonder if the kids were really being "mean". I mean, I wonder if they thought they were being funny, you know. Or they were playing off each other and it could just as well been another one of them that was the odd man out. It was just colbys unlucky day.

Peg - what you are describing is why I don't mind if other parents correct Miles, as long as they do it nice and politely. I probably do miss him being a butt at times. But I have seen moms be nasty to kids that they think have wronged their kids, and that totally pisses me off!!

I dont think so. She is just barely over a year old. I dont remember my kids talking that much at 1....Wait a few months and see if anything changes and then if it doesnt, dont you have a 15 month and 18 month doc appts? if you are still worried then, bring it up to the doc......

DH is wrong. At 12 months a baby is considered to be on track with only 3-5 words. usually just mama dada bye bye and no are the norm. At 15 months it increases to 15 words. AND this is just saying the word at one point in time, not saying all 15 words every single day. KWIM? TRUST me when I say Evs is doing awesome, I should be the one to know, shouldn't I? Wink

Don't worry Kelly, that's perfectly normal for her age! I think the form at the docs says 3-5 words at 12 months is normal.

Sorry your liver #s were elevated Kristi. I hope they let you retake it since it probably was the meds.

Also, the word doesn't have to be 'understandable' if you say to her 'night night Everly.' And she says the same 'SOUND' back as an approximation for that word THIS IS COMPLETELY ACCEPTABLE. I'd venture to bet that Evs is saying LOTS of approximations of words, you just haven't had the experience of having an older one in ST to be able to recognize this. KWIM? Pay very close attention to her babble and I bet you anything you can pick up some approximations that she is using consistently. This is talking, my friend. You have nothing to worry about.

Some companys do an 18, but you'll be hard pressed to find an 18 slim, and the 18's are usually for husky kids.

yea but it still doesn't mean that's right

and i said something to the other kids but not mean...the one kids i said 'i'm sorry but she didn't realize you were playing with it' he didn't even hear me or care what I was saying...then i said to her 'i know that was mean of him to rip that off your head but we didn't know that he was getting ready to put it on...now lets go play'

and the other kid i said 'please becareful of her hands' because her hand was still on the rocket when he hit the button' but again...he didn't hear me nor did he care!!!!

A friend's DD was just diagnosed with an allergy to cold. Yup, you heard that right. She gets hives when exposed to cold temps. It's called cold urticaria (or something like that). Crazy. Never heard of it before.

Still have the heebie jeebies about Colleen's ant story.

Really, 3 words at 12 months? I thought it was 15 months?? I think Micah says Mama and Brian once said "Da" when DH walked into the room. But that's it. They babble all the time, though. Kelly, it sounds like Everly is doing fantastic. But now I wonder if the boys are delayed...

Colleen!! Really...I could have gone my whole life without hearing that story!! LOL. EW! That gives me chills 10x over. I can't even imagine. But seriously, thanks for putting things into perspective...our ant "problem" isn't nearly that bad. Our ants are those annoying sugar ants, not black ants...or even worse yet, fire ants! Do they even have those in MD? We had them in FL. I got bitten one time and that was more than enough. The problem with these is that we can't leave ANYTHING out for any period of time. For example, this morning, DH put sugar in his coffee, stirred it and left the spoon on the counter for me. By the time I got to my first cup of coffee about an hour later, it had 5-6 ants on it. The other day, Tyler and I made cookies...I took them out of the oven to cool and before they were out even 5-6 minutes, they had ants on them. Such a freaking pain. On the plus side, they don't bite. That's it, that's all I've got for a plus Biggrin

Peg - I love your quote about the talking and stuff. So freaking true. So true.

Lana is 10.5 months and she babbles constantly. She will say ma-ma if she's really upset (but not crying). Other than that it's dadadada or yayayayay. The only word she says in context is hi. She waves and says hhhiiiiiiiiiii. But it's like Mel said, it's more a mimic of the sound itself - and that's ok with me Biggrin

What's funny to me is all of the things that seem to come so easily to her that Tyler really struggled with...and took a long time to master. I wonder how much of it is attributable to his prematurity and the delays he had to overcome and how much is just due to the fact that they are different children. And different children do things on different timeframes.

Tyler went to my in-laws campsite with them this weekend - they have a Halloween party tomorrow and he is so excited. We already heard from them - he's running around in his costume, just to try it out.

I just poured myself a glass of rose champagne...just because. Nothing specific to celebrate, besides the fact that I LOVE champagne. I love "pink champagne" even more. Some of the best I've ever had was a couple hundred a bottle...thankfully, I'm able to find waaaay more reasonable substitutes. *sigh* did I mention, I love champagne. Cheers!

Woot HIIIIII

LOL, I thought I'd pop in, my eyes are burning from exhaustion but, I NEED some me time. William had a craptastic night, and when he was sleeping, Bill was groping, so yeah, I wasn't in the best mood today.

Colleen- that ant story made me throw up a bit lol, so nasty. Did DH scream like a little school girl lol? I would have.

Tracy- we get these little tiny ants, we call them grease ants, are they what you have? they are soo tiny and I think they only have two segments to their bodies, we usually get them once a year, and tons of them, they're a light beige colour. so hard to get rid of. We'd pull cutting boards out of the cupboard and they'd be covered, we felt so dirty lol.

Cheers Tracy, that champagne sounds good, I love a good glass of champagne. when I was little and went to Florida with my mom and dad, we'd have mimosas in the morning, I'd always get a half glass, mmmmmm.

I didn't even bother to read back past this page, I hope I'm not missing anything important, if so, I'm sorry.

William just started crawling today, well he's been kind of inching backwards for a week or so, but today he started moving forward, time to bust out the baby gates, I can't believe how much faster the time is flying now than it did when Aidan was a baby, and THAT flew. *sigh*

ok my eyes feel like they're filled with sandpaper, I have to get to bed. Miss you all lots, i hope I can get back on soon, with the winter coming up, i'll be sending Aidan to daycare 2 days a week, so that may give me more time to slack off lol

Wow, took a packing break and was caught up in 10 minutes.

Now I need to go shower, because I am going to itch all night thinking my bed is filled with ants.

Love the pic of the princess raincoat. That is hilarious. I think Jax is going to be so much fun when he is older.

Abigal loves my sister. Totally lets her hold her and carry her around. Ummmm, Abigail lets no one but me hold her. Seriously, no one. I walked in the door from putting in M's carseat and Sharon was walking around carrying her and she didn't even lean toward me when I walked by.
