Kat, that sucks! Sad I hope you can get to the bottom of it.

Julie, is Colby doing better?

Kelly, why did your pedi tell you not to give Everly peanuts?

i'm completely addicted to homemade applesauce now.......spent all morning peeling apples/pears for my sauce!!!!!!!!LOL!!!!!!!!! the fruitlady sells me a walmart bag FULL so about 25 apples of all her bruised ones...all different kinds......for 3bucks........and she gave me a bag of 10 bruised bartlett pears for 1dollar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i don't add anything to it....just the apples and pears and whoever wants it can add cinnamon if they want.....but no sugar needed.......the pears are soooooooo sweet!!!!!!

What a great idea to use pears as a sweetener! OK, tell me more about how you do it... I wasn't paying close enough attention before. lol

Karina, WTG pumping your own gas!! Biggrin I remember being a little nervous the first time I did it by myself. I think I was 16. Wink

Candace :bigarmhug: I really hope tonight was a big turning point for you. They say sometimes the worst comes just before it gets better. I hope that's true for you!!!!

At what age should a toddler be able to answer a yes or no question? I'm worried about M. She was a late talker, but then exploded. But, she can't answer a yes or no question, couldn't before she talked either. If you ask her a question that requires an answer, she tells you answer, like if you hold up a shoe and say "M, what is this?" she says "shoe". But if you ask her "are you finished eating?" she says "finished eating?" So then I ask "do you want more?" she says "want more". So, then I say "M, say yes or no" and she says "yes or no". Um, are you still hungry? "still hungry." "M, what's that?" (point to the dog) "That's a dog."
Seriously? What's up with that? Is this 'normal'? Abigail was answering yes or no questions with a nod or a shake of the head like 9 months ago. Jax answered yes or no questions pretty young as well.

I don't know, it sounds pretty normal to me. Noelle would echo back the last phrase of whatever we said to her or asked her for quite a while. In fact, I think I had conversations very similar to that with her. People thought it was funny/cute, and I remember her doing that when the twins were born, so she would have been 2.5 - isn't it amazing how quickly we forget the timelines of different developments? Hey, where were you today?? Leaving us for FB?

Micah now has 2 new teeth but I'm sure others are coming. I think Brian is starting to get some new teeth, too. They're both sleeping like CRAP right now. Oh well. I'm going to try to sleep in on Saturday. Hopefully.

Tomorrow night is our Christmas concert at church. We're doing the first part (the 'Christmas' portion) of Handel's Messiah. I'm really looking forward to it (although I'm not looking forward to being in the front row in the choir - sucks to be short sometimes). I just hope the boys do okay in the nursery. It's going to be a pretty late night for them, since the concert doesn't even start until 7pm and it's usually at least 1.5-2 hours. Since my DH is playing in the orchestra instead of singing, he gets to have the pager so it won't be my problem if we get paged. lol

OK, just finished cleaning up the kitchen and now I need to throw some stuff in the dryer and get to bed! I've already dealt with Brian twice. I really hope the boys give me a decent stretch tonight. The past few nights have been BRUTAL.

Tracy, that sounds a lot like the problem Logan had. When he was in K, they let him use a marker instead of a pencil, then he moved on to one of the fat pencils, and then finally a regular one. It seemed to work for him.

Pregnancy.org, LLC The upgrade of our bulletin boards ran into a snag this morning (the staging server decided not to cooperate with us), so we'll be rescheduling the upgrade for another time. We'll let you all know the where and when. We are restoring the backup and the forums should be up in just a wee bit. The site itself has been up, just FYI.

I believe it's an update of the vBulletin 'software', nothing we will 'see'. Think of it like a tune-up of your vehicle.

I am so tired. Didn't get to bed until shortly before 1am and then Brian was up at 2:15, just miserable. Got him sort of calmed down and heard Micah waking. Put Brian down and calmed Micah and by that time, Brian was up and freaking out again. Poor guy. I didn't get him back to sleep until 3:30 and then thankfully everyone slept until Noelle woke up at 7am. Can't remember the last time she was up that early. Sad And of course the boys are still sleeping and it's 8:30am. If she got up at her normal time, I would have gotten some decent sleep. Oh well. Motherhood is not for wimps! Smile

So what is everyone up to today? The nice part about having Noelle up on her own so early is that we actually got to do a few projects - she put some food coloring in ice cube trays (always a fun and easy one) and we just made a Christmas tree out of shapes. Super easy and fast for me, and I also cut out some more advanced shapes since she has the basics down (pentagon, octagon, oval, etc). http://www.allkidsnetwork.com/crafts/christmas/shape-christmas-tree.asp

Now she's beckoning me to read some books. Nice to have some one-on-one time with her, but I really wish I wasn't so flippin tired....

Anyone have any other quick craft ideas that work well for independent work? Does that even make sense? lol

I'm baking seven dozen cookies for a cookie exchange on Sunday, plus baking something for my after-school crowd. Just got all my Christmas cards mailed, the tree is up and decorated...all that's left is wrapping presents!!

Busy weekend ahead: groceries tomorrow morning, then off to the jeweler with DH (we are not getting anywhere, I'm bringing in the big guns, lol), coffee with a friend, dinner at my parents'...then on Sunday Anna has her ballet 'recital' and I'm going to the cookie exchange in the afternoon.

No appetite still, it has been a week. So unusual for me, I'm normally hungry all the time, so I am running with it...down 8 lbs, and even though I know this is not good weight loss, I'll take it, lol!

Okay, already missed a lot, but I had tried to post this before and the server reset....lesson learned from before, don't use Quick Reply, use Post Reply...because if the server resets after you hit submit, you can just go back a page and copy and paste lol!

BBL to catch up on what I missed from earlier!

Morning!

Ruth, Colby is much better now, thanks for asking! Daphne, on the other hand, has something that's spilled over from the last cold that I'm sure is bacterial now...slight fever, thick yellow snot, awful dipes...just what you wanted to know lol! Made an appt for her Monday morning and I'll just cancel if things clear up by then. I'm so sorry for the rough night, that's the absolute pits, especially when a normally later sleeper gets up nice and early! The concert sounds great tonight, I hope the boys will be just fine!!!

PJ have fun today...and take advantage of tonight and get some things done, whoohooo!

Candace thinking of you lots. :bigarmhug:

Tracy, Colby does the EXACT same thing, and gets SO pissed when I try to help him. He's just sorta now able to trace a circle...and I mean in a VERY loose sense lol! I'm going to check that app out, thank you!!!

Deb whoohoooo for being done with your old house! Here's to finding one tomorrow that you love!!!

Mel I'm guessing M is okay, since she's able to speak, etc. Maybe work with her as far as yes means you are still hungry, no means you are not hungry, so yes or no??? I dunno lol!

Colleen, the only reason I'd wear a helmet is when that chick died on the bunny slope...what was her name...she was famous...crap, she was married to Liam Neeson or whatever his name is. Anyway, she just slightly fell, and I guess fell wrong...there could be WAY more to the published story, but it sounds scary to me!

K, can't remember what else, sorry!!!

Oh, random....if anyone has an iPad, you can get a print and digital subscription to National Geographic for $15. So I got my Dad the print subscription, and used my email for the iPad edition heh heh. Just a random idea for a gift for someone and yourself lol!

Help! I have a dark gray sweater vest that has black, light grey, and red diamonds on it. But the only pants available are navy or brown cords or khakis. I don't have any black pants for the boys. This isn't going to work, is it? Sad What do you guys think?

I would get black or grey pants. You could try the khaki, I don't think it would work. I mix black and brown all the time. You can totally mix neutral colors, but what throws me off is the color scheme of the sweater. If it was red and black it would be fine with khaki, but tossing in that grey is kind of limiting. Like the sweater is begging you to stick with the black family. KWIM?

That's what I was afraid of. Sad At the concert tonight, we're going to attempt (like we do every year) to get a family pic. Or at least a pic of the kids. DH and I will both be in concert black. Noelle is wearing a gorgeous red dress with an ivory collar.

The boys are a problem. Here's what I have for them in the dressy department:

I have navy cords or khakis or brown pants/cords.
I have white collared button down shirts for both of them.
I have 3 different sweater vests, but aside from the one I already described, I have a sweater vest that is all light gray. Or one that is navy with red and green and yellow diamonds.
I also have collared, button down shirts that are a cord-like material. One is red and the other is cream with red and maybe dark green? It's a tight design, but works best with navy pants.

One possible outfit would be brown pants with that red shirt and this adorable Gymbo brown corduroy jacket that my DH is in love with but the boys haven't worn yet. But I'm worried all that brown wont look good with all our black...

I know their clothes are totally random, but it's because they're mostly hand me downs/garage sale/resale, etc.

so what do you all think? if i can get brian and noelle down for naps, i'll try to post some pics.

no need to upload pics. Don't do brwn/tan combo, it will look weird with the rest of you in black. I'd go with navy pants, the 2 white button ups and 'try' the blck/gry/red vest with those pants. If they are true dark navy and not a 'bright' navy, then it will be fine to the eye IRL, and you will not know in the pics that they are navy pants and not black. If they are a 'bright' navy, then do the other grey vest, and the cream w/ red and green button up that you described.

OK, got everyone asleep. Biggrin

BAD quality on the pics - sorry, i was in a hurry...

Here is what Noelle is wearing: There is a really pretty design on the collar and hem. should have gotten a close-up so you could just (just because it's pretty Lol

The navy color is darker IRL:

Isn't this cute?

bad quality, but this is the navy vest:

other vest:

I am so stupid and forgot to grab the original vest before I put the boys down. Sad Bummer, too, because it's my favorite and would really work best with what DH/Noelle/I are wearing. But I really dont' think it's going to work. If I have time, i'm going to run to target because i need stockings, so i'll see if they have black pants that aren't too expensive. i kind of doubt it, though. Even if I do get black pants, what should the other boy wear??

i didn't take pics of their white shirts - figure you guys know what they look like already. Wink

Emily, this is the one time jeans probably wouldn't work at our church... i don't have any that would work, anyway. but good idea. Smile

what do you all think??

emily.....i've made about 6 batches and haven't had a problem with not adding any water.....maybe my crock pot is different........but the apples/pears produce so much liquid on their own.......there is no need for any added water.......at least for me....

I always have to reduce the amount of any liquid that is called for in a crockpot recipe. It's like my crockpot makes it's own liquid.

Tough call Ruth. That tan corduroy is adorable, but it won't go with the rest of you, unless you and Al bow out of the pics and just do the 3 kiddos. And IMHO, corduroy, especially tan is not 'dressy'. I'm pretty sure what you and Al will have on is pretty dressy, like black tie-ish dressy right? (I've seen pics from past years) And tan corduroy is a little on the casual side of dressy. Especially with Noelle in a velvet dress. Black corduroy would work, but only because it is black.
Honestly, at WalMart the other day, I saw a 4 piece set, dress slacks-button up-vest-tie for 14.99.

Just did a search of the website and came up with this. These were cheaper in my store. (it was the bigger kid sizes that had the tie)

Hey Colleen as soon as D goes down for a nap, Colby will help me with cutting up apples for the sauce! Have pears too, but they aren't quite ripe, so after cooking down I may add some sugar. I bet it's gonna smell great!

Ruth I have to defer to the clothing experts, because it all looks fine to me, especially if the red shirt is the same red as Noelle's dress!

Kelly, I will admit scarves not in winter or if it isnt cold look silly to me, but come on about the gay, how un PC! Rude!

Emily thought of the play date from the other day, did all go well?

One of them is with me all the time....we were going to go to TX to let my mom or his dad watch the kids while we shopped.....he hasnt talked to the boss at all.....and next weekend it is his scheduled watering time......I am about to just drive off by myself and leave him with all the kids and go for a few days to go buy gifts for people....I have my sis and his sis bought for and that is all. I see lots of gift card purchases in my furture. I am getting frustrated with him, but he likes to go with my when we buy for the kids.

weekend- merry christmas to me I get to trade in my diamond earrings and get bigger ones! WOOHOOO trying to decide to go with circle or square ones.. they will be studs... any thoughts out there ? ahhhh hemmm Karina Wink
we are going to SF to do it... taking the kids and now my mom is tagging along.
After we are going to walk the golden gate bridge with the kids.. well stroll with E and Owen can walk.. it's not an easy jaunt though it will be COLD and it's crazy windy on the bridge. Owen LOVES it though (the bridge) so we thought it would be fun.
grab some lunch in SF on Pier 39 I want some Chowder in a bread bowl!

Sunday I am going to a cookie party.. my first ever I have no idea what this is like but I have to cook a chit ton of cookies on Sat night...
other than that some football and general laziness is on the docket.
