Are you freaking serious? About the insurance? Do you know this for a fact? What do I do?

Awww, cute pics Kelly!!!! How did he like the movie?

Peg, see you are having fun at work lol!!!!

Karina LMAO at picking Dh up! Oh my word, yes he's smart to not call again! Waited too long and decided to walk home anyway! Oh I'd tear him up!!!!!!

Kelly maybe your Dad did send a sign thru your sister, if she heard his voice.....

There's so much crap from my childhood that was just weird, but in my house now all sorts of funny stuff happens I've mentioned before....the floorboards upstairs are really creaky. I'll be in bed (DH is at work), and there's boards creaking as if someone was walking around, walking in the hall, into our room, around our bed, back out into the hall, back into our room, etc. I'll say out loud I'M TRYING TO SLEEP, STOP!!! And it'll stop. If a board here and there creaked, that could just be the house settling or whatever...but I can't explain why it's clear sounds as if a bodied person was walking around, being able to follow the sounds clearly. I've heard clear voices as well...been alone in the house and heard a woman's voice, TV off, radio off, heard the same voice several times. Colby has heard it as well, it'll be a voice, sometimes inaudible in what is said, but Colby will say, who is talking? Once last year there was a cough in the front room when we were in the back...Colby said who is that coughing in the big room? I said we were so sick last year we even made the ghost sick lol! I guess you could say voices could just be the right combo of sounds coming from inside and outside the house so that it sounds like a voice....but repeatedly in this house that right combo has been met lol! I couldn't find a pair of earrings once that were my grandmother's and was really pissed about it. After about a week, I came downstairs one morning and they were on the breakfast table, just sitting there in the center. DH swears he didn't find the earrings and put them there, although I guess he could have been the one to lose them, not wanting to fess up. I don't know, lots of other things too...it is odd when a psychic mentions things that aren't prompted that are accurate. Once my gma had recently died, I told the psychic I hadn't talked to my gma in a while for many reasons, I was wondering if she was okay until I was able to talk to her again. The psychic said she was riding her horse in what we might think is heaven and was at peace. My gma was a great equestrienne and if there is a heaven, she'd have been riding a horse there! Lots of other psychic stuff too, although I've not seen one in years, there are some things I'd rather just find out as they come lol!

Oops, totally forgot to comment about Rick! What a mess Mel! How is he doing now? I'm sorry they were jumbled up in getting him discharged...just read what Peg wrote, it sounds like he might need to be formally discharged???

He was discharged by his doctor, but his nurse still had not done her job after 3 hours, hadn't even started the procedure, hadn't stepped in his room, nothing. He hadn't seen her since 5:00 am, when she came in to administer pain meds that he didn't need, for the first time since 7:00 pm the night before.

YAY!!! I can get back in! So glad Rick is okay Mel! I can't believe he took out his own IV!! Crazy cakes!

I too am very skeptical about things like the paranormal, but don't put it out of the realm of possibility. BUT.. like most have said, it scares the crud out of me. So.. I try not to watch shows/movies about that stuff. My mom and my sister were obsessed with ghost hunters and all those kind of shows. I am scared to pieces to go back to the hospital where my mom died. I am convinced that I will see her there, lol. I would love to go to a psychic though, just for the entertainment value. I hear there is a great lady around the DC area, but can't for the life of me remember her name.

I think there are lots of things we can't explain. I think I saw my Great Aunt one day about two years after she passed away.

Karina, my husband is as stubborn and pig headed as yours. We have gone to blows many times about his inability to wait patiently. (think leaving hospital this morning) I of course have no issue telling him exactly what I think of his behavior as well, so I would have told him I'd never come pick him again. LOL

I brought him home and he changed clothes and went to work. Just talked to him and he said he feels queasy, but he has been on narcotics for the last 3 weeks. He really does just need a solid nights sleep.

yes i'm serious!!!!! I don't know what you should do...if he was officially given a discharge order from the doctor...meaning depending on the system they either wrote it or put it in the computer it MAY not be an issue....but some isurances want the actual sgned discharge paperwork in hand.....it's one of their excuses for getting out of paying for things!!!!!

Mel, glad rick is okay, but that man needs to REST!!

Okay, you guys are scaring the crap outta me! I am going to be scared to sleep tonight. Julie, I remember you telling us a while back about how when Colby was a baby he woke up one night and you always left the closet light on so you could see and you were rocking him and saw the shadow of feet from under the door.... I still think of that and get scared. I have not had any creepy stuff happen to me, thank goodness, but DH and his mom had some encounters when DH was younger and they lived in an old farm house that used to be part of the underground railroad.

i remember that story too julie....LOL

you guys are freakin me out!!!!!lol

it's the little things that freak me out too...like ever since steve's mom died there's been a hawk out in our tree out back and she loved hawks......the day my dads ashes were burried with my grandpop 2 bluebirds came and sat on the tombstone during the ceremony......probably totally coincidental but freaky IMO

steves friend from the union was killed in a boat accident a couple of years ago.....he and his dad were both union electricians.....his dad's house had a back porch light the they could not get to work...these 2 electricians tried everything to get it to go on..it would not...the day that he died it went on and wouldn't go off

Julie, I don't know how you sleep at night!

My stories are second-hand...My mother went to Finland after her mother died to sort out the apartment. The clock my grandmother would wind every day had stopped. But it started up and ran again on the day of the funeral, then went quiet. It is now in my parents' house and won't work anymore.

OK guys, I have what I feel is a dilemma. I offered to a high school friend 3 huge bags of clothing that was Karina's. I don't really keep in touch and we aren't close friends. She handed me a card I guessed as a thank you. After she had driven away, I opened the card and she had given me a $50 gift card! I felt physically nauseous when I saw that because the whole point of giving her the clothes was to help her out so she wouldn't have to spend money. I feel that defeats the purpose and I am so uncomfortable with it.

What should I do? I almost want to send it back to her but that seems weird....any suggestions? advice?

I just feel really weird about the gift card as I never expected that. She asked me Karina's size so I just thought she might give me a little outfit.....

I'd keep it Cristina, she wouldn't have done it if she didn't want to. I have someone here who gives me loads of girl clothing, really the only time we see each other or talk is when she calls me up to say she has another bunch. I usually end up giving her odds and ends I know she could use in return....the cost of the things I give her are WAY less than the value of if I bought all that she gave me...even if I got them at a yard sale, etc. It just feels weird to ME to take all of that and give nothing in return. Really it's just a small token of appreciation...I'd just write her a note of thanks and enjoy the card!!!

Cristina, I would simply just tell her "Thank you so much for the gift card, but my intentions were simply to pass along the clothing to someone I know rather than send them to Goodwill. For the future, can we please come to an understanding that I really would like to just pass the clothing along to you, without such a generous thank you." She will probably respond with something along the lines of, 'but I just wanted to show my appreciation and the gift card is but a very small fraction of what I would have spent for the things you gave me.' At which point, you graciously just accept that she needs to be able to reciprocate your generocity. Can you tell I've been in this situation? Wink

See, Julie's been there too. LOL

Speaking of which, I have about 6 fleece TCP sleepers in 18m. They are only too small for Abs because her feet are so stinking big. Can anyone use these? By the time it got warm enough here for fleece, she was only able to wear them about 2x each.

Christina where is the GC to?
Is it something you can cash out and enjoy together?

Otherwise I would just keep it and send a thank you with a "please no need to do this in the future"

I know that I gave a bunch of clothing to a coworker. He gave me a gift card too. When I told him he did not need to do that he let me know that he was given that gift card by the company we work for. So maybe that was similar to what happened. Either way I would keep it, but just let her know that she doesn't need to do that.

I am feeling so unbelievable sleepy right now. I could literaly fall asleep standing up. I slept for 9 hours last night so I dont understand why I am so tired.

Thanks guys for the input. I actually called her by accident (meant to call my realtor) and hung up quickly. I guess the call went through and she called back. I talked to her and said she didn't need to do that and for the future I am planning on giving her the 3T and 4T clothing if need be and not to give another gift. She said it was also for my new baby. So I will likely send her a thank you, and tell her what I purchased w the gift card. It's to TJ Maxx. I never go there, so I don't even know what they have there!

Julie I remember the weird, cat story...foggy day, dogs barking at something in the wood pile....?.?? I dont remember detes now...but I remember it gave me the hereby jeebies way back in the day!!

Crap...that's it...I forget...I remember seeing twinkle toes... Oh Cristina....i would keep the gc, and send a thank you card...it was just a nice gesture.

Candace hope your having some happy shopping!!

TJ MAxx has some good stuff! Clothes, bedding, housewares, shoes, toys....you name it, they got it! Very reasonably priced too for brand name stuff.

Ooo yeah Cristina I'm sure you'll find something there! And the good thing is, they get in new stuff all the time, so if you go and don't find something at first, wait a couple weeks and try again!!!

Mel I might be able to use the sleepers....I have a few TCP sleepers, and the 18m size fits perfectly right now....but the fleece might be too warm since I have a heater in her room. Maybe you could save them for the consignment sale, get a few bucks for them at least hardly worn? Hopefully Rick will feel better tonight, he'll sleep, you'll sleep, sleep for everyone!

Oh man Colleen!!! Can you wait til the morning to do another coat? I think your new name should be Bob Villa! Or however you spell it lol! How is everyone feeling in the house?

Kat I'm sorry you are so tired!! I hope you can get a good night's sleep and feel better tomorrow!!

Ooo yeah the cat story too lol! My cat is buried at the bottom of the property with a big pile of large rocks on top in a mound. This black and white cat kept clawing at the rocks for half the day...he'd stand on top of them, next to them clawing at the rocks, the dogs were going nuts. I took a picture because it was so bizarre....it was a clear day, no clouds, the sun was going down though...in the pics there was mist and the cat's eyes were glowing, all the pics except the one blurry one had mist in them...he stayed there for the longest time

This was the only pic I got of him clawing at the rocks...

well......i got the topcoat on the countertops.....i'm not 100% in love with it....it seems like some of the "color" whether it was the paint of chips didn't stick, very well....so i can see in some spots the maroon breaking through.....it doesn't look awful, and you can't see it unless your right ontop of it (and that's like 80% of my day  ) it still looks wayyyyy better than it did.......and really it was only a $175 kit(i think.....i'll go through my reciepts and add up what i've spent so far when i'm done buying,LOL) but for all that work....LOL.....i'm happy with it, just not THRILLED with it....LOL!!!! not like the cabinets....i LOVE how those came out.....luck of the draw....it will buy us years anyways !!!!!!!!!!! i'm beat....i think i might actually go to bed......and it's not even 11:30.....this is nuts!!!!LOL!!!!!

yes, julie........those were the pics i remember!!!!!!!!!!! so weird!!!!!!!!

I'm home from consignment. Just caught up on my emails and a little blogging as I had some apple pie. Wow, I'm drained.

So the Amazon b@stards made S&S items that had the 30% discount ineligible already for extra shipments?? Went in to order more regular and overnight dipes before the 24th cutoff, and can't do it, can't request an extra shipment. Ball suckers!!

Colleen I bet the counters look great, you put so much hard work into the whole kitchen, can't wait to see it!!!!

Candace can't wait to hear about the haul!!!!!!!!

Peg, super cold here too, taking the kid to and from school and that's about it lol!!!

Sorry Jules. I'm in love with amazon prime at the moment and don't know how I ever lived without it. When I order something, I've been getting it in less than 24 hours (12 hours later for one package). I'm not paying anything extra either.

Spending too much because of this crazy phenomenon, lol.

Sorry, only read this page. No time to read back. Hope everyone is doing well.

Bb in a bit with a pic of the kitchen.....it's still taped but I took the plastic down.....it still feels tacky....not sure why?? Said 4-6 hrs and it should be dry to touch....it's been 10 hrs.... Needs 48 hrs to cure....still no kitchen sink...ho hum....

Candace...can't. Wait to see the haul...the pic in your blog of all the toys was soooo overwhelming....I would have had the cold sweats!!

Good morning.

Cristina, that was very nice of your friend. If you're still feeling uncomfortable with it, you can always buy stuff to donate, blankets, coats, etc to homeless shelters? Ya know, pay it forward kinda thing. But I see nothing wrong with using it for Karina and the new baby too! Speaking of, do you have a name yet?

Colleen, can't wait to see the pics of your kitchen!!!

Mel, I hope you had a good nights sleep. How's Rick doing?

Morning ladies,

Colleen, I hope that topcoat dries. I'm sorry you aren't completely happy with it. Are you going to get a photo later of it?

My amazon prime runs out Feb 7th. I just bought a Bumbo cover seat with it. They have them in Target but it was a few cents cheaper on Amazon (no tax). The only remaining thing I will likely buy is medela replacement tubing, etc.

Colleen, sorry to hear that you are not liking the counters as much as you thought you would. I am sure they are going to look amazing though! Can't wait to see some pics.

Amazon....I am seriously going to cry when my prime runs out. I did ALL my Christmas schopping online this year and it was so nice. I might just have to suck it up and pay for another year of prime.

Candace, can't wait to see your haul!

All of your hard work has paid off Colleen - the cabinets and countertops look great! Do the kids like it or do they even care? Haha.

Cristina, I agree, tell your friend exactly what Mel said. When my friend was going through her divorce she kept giving me gift cards when I would keep her little girl. I finally just asked her to STOP IT! And she did. Smile

I'm sure I mentioned it, but that same friend got remarried the weekend of my first chemo. So now I have a $250 bridesmaid dress hanging in my closet never worn (or even tried on) -

Busy morning here. Got the girls up and out to preschool - wish we could have had a pj day, Peg!! I think C would have stayed in the bed til at least 9am today...she was such a little trooper shopping with me last night!!!!

I'll bbl with pictures.

ITA Colleen, you are being too hard on yourself!! I think too that if any maroon shows through, it'll just add dimension to it!!!!!!!!!!

The amazon thing, just have to go in and do a new S&S order, still get the total 20% discount for amazon mom and S&S til the 24th.

Colleen, your kitchen looks amazing!!! Like the others, I can't see anything wrong with the counters, I am just amazed you can cover them like that, they look completely new!

It is cold here too...minus 26 at the moment...I helped someone who was stuck on the ice this morning, a couple of us pushed his car. No question it is winter now, it took its sweet time coming but it is here!

Cristina, if you are sharing, I'd love to know what names you have on your list too!

Looking forward to your pics, Candace...the size of that consignment sale blew my mind!

Colleen, you seriously did a fantastic job. That looks like a $30,000+ kitchen remodel. You should be extremely proud of all your hard work. WOW lady, those finished pics just blow my mind.

Candace, I can't wait to see pics of your super haul. Smile

Got a call from a title company this morning. Apparently my father's house sold and they needed a payoff amount since we hold a mortgage on it. Um, seriously over the top pumped. We didn't think we were going to see even 1/4 of the money loaned out and it looks like we are getting every penny back. Though, don't you find it a little odd that I'm finding out my father's house sold through a complete stranger and not from one of my sisters? LOL

Morning
today is the big day for DH.. I am cooking up a storm his favorite dinner! Smile the guy was up all night reciting the speech.. I even heard him in the shower talking. Poor thing is going to be so happy it's over .. he has been working late and barely seen the kids in the last 2 weeks. So I think he deserves a kick arse meal and some yummy drinks to celebrate:)

Colleen the kitchen looks awesome.. I do not know HOW you even attempted to do this with the kids home but you did and it looks awesome!

Mel how is Rick?

Karina- -26 blows my mind.. I would be a hermit.. not even kinda kiddding!

Hi Candace, Emily,Nicole,Kerri anyone else I forgot!

Now, here's something to talk about! In today's paper there was a feature on a lady who makes "reborn" dolls. They are supposed to look like newborns, are weighted and dressed in newborn clothes. They go for quite a lot of money:
http://www.ebay.ca/sch/i.html?_nkw=reborn+dolls&_sacat=0&_odkw=newborn+dolls&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313

What do you think of this? Are they cute or creepy? I am on the fence...but leaning towards creepy.
