That is awesome that Abby can write her name! Cadence is no where near writing her name (or anything else!).
Julie, hope you slept well with they Nyquil. I must have missed something - was there a playdate with school kids or did you go to the school to volunteer and see this kid and his mom? That Valentine still creeps me out. Writing this reminds me that there are two full bags of candy in the kitchen from the girls' parties at school. Almost as much as Halloween. Crazy.
I am about to go pick up the girls. Had a great night last night. My treatment went quickly, dh and I beat the crowds out to eat and had a nice meal out. Picked Wade up. Came home and chilled out. DH went to work about 6am this morning, but Wade and I slept until 9:30 :woohoo: - I needed that. Feeling much better. Now if that cleaning fairy would just come clean my house.
Candace it was a bday party where some of the kids from class were invited, I think weirdo card lady gets invited to everything lol! There's a bday party tomorrow at this play place a bit from here, there's 60 some people going on the evite...and it's supposed to snow 5 inches tomorrow which shuts things down around here! I wonder if those places offer refunds?? I can't imagine how much that's going to cost, even if it didn't snow....I could never afford to do that for my kids!
I am SO glad you are feeling better! I bet a night of decent sleep helped tremendously! I bet the girls had a great night, you got some rest and a dinner out after the last Friday tx (right?), good day all around! yah, you find the cleaning fairy, send her my way, I gots some work for her to do lol!
Glad you had a good Friday Candace.
Julie- How was your nyquil stuper? That lady seems really odd.
Um, Abby knows what a frog is, and she's not afraid to shout it to the world if she sees one. Now, just think about how most toddlers delete the 'R' in a word and replace the 'G' with a 'k'. Yep, let us hope there are no frogs at church tomorrow.
LMAO. Abs is so cute.
Hi guys...I'm here...just easier to keep up on FB esp when I'm home...which I will be a lot more of now...anyways, had the wonderful massage this evening and then had burgers in a noisy unrelaxing place...oh well....I need to get more massages...gotta find a way to get them cheaply, it felt so good.
Mel I hope Abs behaves herself in church tomorrow- don't think there will be any frogs there!
Can I just say I hate hate hate my computer? Can't admit it in front of my DH because he will just make fun of me for it....he keeps saying I need a new one, but it's a point of pride w me....I bought this w my own money (yes I was overcharged majorly)....but thinking about it, it's been since 2006...it's a laptop...I do diskcleans and defragmenters and all sorts of deleting files to try to get it to move faster. But ugh. OK vent over.
Back to FB for a bit before bed...
weekend o baby showers in progress..*sigh* Owen is sick like really sick...*double sigh*
maybe I will be back on tonight
kids are napping...woootttt....trying to get some pictures printed...i had taken some at school the other day for their valentines party so ii'm printing some copies to send into the teachers!!!!
mel...any frogs at church today??? I really hope there were.....it would be like an episode of 'modern family'
cristina.....yay for a nice massage...and a hamburger....mmmmm......so whats the plan with work now...are you officially on maternity leave....do you go back to the docs on monday ????? just curious!!! good luck
kelly.....sorry for the sickies....no fun...have fun at the baby shower though!!!!
and back to our convo from the other day
hey julie....a 300 pound black guy was arrested in philly the other day...was caught on surveillence shopping naked.....guess what store he was in????????? he did shoplift a pair of socks though
Didn't go to church this morning. Abs is G.R.U.M.P.Y. running a slight temp and a tad bit snotty.
I wish I could take a nap.
I wish the boys would take a nap.
No time right now, but a Noelle funny for you. So we went to my friend's house on Friday and i feel so bad for her. More about that later, but her 4 year old is just defying all the promises people have been making that a 4 year old is much better than a 3 year old... among many other things, he spat in her face and also walked around the house spitting (some landed on me blech). After spending an eternity in his room, he came out and was being very obnoxious about playing playdough (which Noelle and his 2yo brother were playing with happily). Noelle said firmly, "No, sir. You need to take your grumpy hat off and throw it in the trash and put your other grumpy hat on and come play playdough."
Nina and I were just ROLLING. Not sure where she came up with putting 'your other grumpy hat on' but she has certainly heard the first part of that many times! lol
OK, bbl after i deal with the cranky boys.
Cristina, thinking about you today. :bigarmhug:
Ruth .... ROFL .....hope you told the cranky boys to take off their grumpy hat and put a new grumpy hat on
hope everyone had a great weekend
ours was fun......saturday was beautiful out....did some running around.....alyssa insisted that we take daddy to chick fil a since he's never been there before so we did......
sunday.....did some cleaning and crafts......nap...then took them to my nephews baskedtball games....had a great time......it's funny because they were like in shock.....when i was their age i was a gym rat because my older brothers and sisters were always into some kind of sport ....trying to get them used to it......
lyssa funny......they were getting antsy in the gym so i took them in the hall...there were a line of lockers......didn't realize what shw as doing at first but then she turns to me and says 'mommy there are 48 doors' ....great lyssa can you count them again (trying to keep her busy ) so she counts them again.....'yep mommy 48' then she proceeds to count them backwards....and i was actually pretty amazed that she could count backwards from 48.......a couple minutes later i realized......the were numbered 1 - 48 ....here i am thinking she's a genius and then realized she could just read number
Kelly, how is Owen feeling today?
Mel, glad you didn't have to deal with the frogs yesterday at church...
Colleen, how was your crazy weekend?
Peg, that is still impressive that she can read all those numbers!!!! Noelle can't read numbers that high. I think she only recently started recognizing 10 and 11. lol When she counts past 10, just about every other number is 'eleventeen.' lol How did your DH like chick fil a?
Kat, how is the reno project going?
Cristina, sorry about the computer issues. We have some of those kinds of issues, too. So are you off work now?
Hi Julie! And everyone else I missed... my brain isn't quite awake yet this morning.
So my DH is still sick with a cold. He has chest congestion, a dry cough and fatigue. No fever. He was googling his symptoms Friday night and decided he might have walking pneumonia (). I'm torn between being worried about him and thinking he's being a baby. But he was feeling well enough to DTD, so I guess he wasn't quite on his death bed yet. But then he told me last night that he hoped it would make him feel completely better and he would wake up the next morning feeling good as new. lol He was a lot better yesterday and helped out a lot with our little choir at church and sang in the adult choir and then went to his 2.5 hour brass band rehearsal... but then hit a wall around 8pm-ish and said he felt like crap the rest of the night. He's still asleep, so I'm really hoping he's feeling much better today. I really doubt he had pneumonia, lol, but I do wonder if he got a cold from somewhere else or maybe has a touch of the flu? I don't know why his cold has lasted SO much longer than mine. His symptoms have been different than mine, too - I just had a lot of nasal congestion and that was about it, no cough or anything.
I feel so bad for my friend. Her 4 yr old is just a huge handful. I would say he was somewhat pleasant to be around for maybe 10% of the time we were there. But just as difficult is her 7 month old, who is the fussiest baby I've ever seen. If he wasn't being held, he was screaming. the entire time. I held him some, but i also had B and M to deal with and they weren't crazy about sharing my lap. Thankfully, her 2 year old is relatively pleasant, but I just felt bad for her. She says it's like this a lot of the time. It's hard enough having 3 very young children without having other issues with them, too.
OK, DH is off school today so I won't be around again... hopefully he's feeling better...
I went and checked my profile (everything was already filled in) but then it wouldn't let me log in. It finally did though, obviously.
Peg, That is pretty impressive though!
Just found out yesterday that Ethan can count up to "twelveteen".
Cristina, thinking of you. :bigarmhug: I'm so glad you were able to treat yourself to a massage. Sounds heavenly.
Candace, yay for being half way done with radiation, and lots of sleep!
eleventeen and twelveteen that's great
WTG ethan love it......tyler counts that high too but he starts at fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, eleventeen
Ruth...hope DH is feeling better...but i have to say...typical male.....OF COURSE he's feels better enough to DTD right????? typical......and yes....your friend does sound like she has a hand full!!!!!!!
our sibling rivalry battles are getting better at home...in stead of the 'no your not' 'yes i am' 'no your not' for hours on end...we have taught them this weekend to just say 'yes tyler you are right' or 'yes alyssa you are right ' .....so far so good LOL
Good morning errebody!
Peg LOL at 'yes Tyler you are right'!!! I love it!!!! I hope it sticks and works!!!
Ruth LOL at your Dh too for being well enough to DTD! Of course! Well FWIW, when I get colds, I have them for at least 2-4 weeks, but I think I just have a crappy immune system. Oh my, your friend's kid sounds like a handful! I know it's got to be frustrating for the mom too.
Cristina so glad you got that massage!!!! Maybe check out if you have massage schools around there, I know here they do like hair school places....super reduced pricing. But it's not like they'd let some schmoo massage you and do damage, they have to at least be at a good point with supervision. Just a thought!
Karrie awww at Ethan counting to twelveteen! Love it!
Colleen, you out there???
Mel did you ever get that couch for the 20% off?
Kat how's the reno, just about done? I think you might be, but can't remember!
Kelly hope you get some rest today after all the running around!
Candace how are you feeling? Does DH have off today or does he work?
My Dh is off today, poor guy gets screwed on holidays though because Monday is his normal day off, no extra days off! We were going to go with friends to museums in DC, but just don't feel like it....everyone is still a little funky feeling, can't do a long haul day in the city. So, probably just do junk around the house and town, big excitement!
Cristina, hugs lady. When are you starting your maternity leave? Did I miss that?
Ruth, about Noelle and the grumpy hat, and about your DH thinking he has walking pneumonia but has the energy to do all that you mentioned plus DTD. I had walking pneumonia once and I have to tell you, there isn't much 'walking' about it. It literally feels like there is a hippo sitting on your chest, every breath hurts, you feel like you can't get enough air, and so you end up trying to take a big breath every few minutes, kind of like a big sigh. He would NOT have been able to sing, he would have stopped several times to 'catch his breath'. Not to mention, I layed around in bed A lot without energy to do much at all. And this is walking pneumonia from a women's perspective, I couldn't imagine how a man describes it. LOL
Peg, the locker story is hilarious. Like seriously hilarious. But, that is really fabulous that she recognizes and can name those bigger numbers. She is a genius.
No school today, it's President's Day. But, I forgot that until I was rummaging through Jax's closet looking for something to get him dressed in. Ya know. It is a really good thing that I remembered this before I took him to school. The rest of the school is using today as a make-up day from a snow day that happened a bit ago on a Fri. But, preschool is still using this as a holiday since the snow day happened on a Friday and preschool doesn't go on Friday's. I would have trucked him all the way to his classroom since all the other kids were there.
Kat, how's the reno going?
Kelly, How's Owen feeling?
Colleen, how was the crazy weekend? I couldn't remember if it rolled over into Monday too. When was your brother leaving? Did you enjoy his visit and the visit with your long lost girlfriend?
ruth.....yes....steve loved chic fil a....lol....thankfully there weren't too many kids in the play area or he would have totally felt overwhelmed that's how he was at the basketball game last night.....kept giving me the stink eye when i let tyler run all over the court in between games......he didn't grow up a gym rat like i was either
yes kelly...how is owen today
mel.....so glad you figured out he was off....lol...would have been pretty funny though
yes colleen...how was your super busy weekend......fun weekend i bet!!!!
as far as reading the big numbers...lol...just earlier in the day she had but 3 and 2 together and kept calling it 13......so sometimes she gets it and sometimes she doesn't LOL
Mel, I am glad you didn't get him to school before realizing there was not school!
Ruth, Sorry but I have to about your DH and being well enough to DTD. Hopefully he starts to feel better soon.
Julie, hope your kiddos start feeling better too! How far away from DC are you?
Peg, the fact that Alyssa can recognize numbers up to 48 makes her a genious in my book!
Karrie, WTG Ethan for making it to twelveteen!
Cristina :bigarmhug: I agree with Julie about looking into massage schools.
Candace, glad you were able to get a little extra sleep this weekend!
Colleen, where you at? And how was your weekend?
Kat, how is the reno going?
Kelly, how is Owen feeling?
We are recycling a cold here too.... the kids had it two weeks ago, I had it last week, and now the kids are getting it again..... Dang it!
I'm pretty sure Colleen was going to be really busy again today. No school, and driving her brother for an interview and to the airport (I think).
Thanks Karrie. I thought I remembered her busy-ness rolling into today.
I think it rolls into tomorrow also - teeth cleaning for the crew and herself and Dan! Or maybe that was today. I have no idea.
Ruth, my dh was "sick" yesterday, too. He better be glad he didn't try to dtd with me after he laid on the couch all day and was "too sick" to lift a finger to help me or the kids! Hope everybody feels better soon!
Well crap, Cadence can't write her name, and as far as I know, Ella can only count to three (unless she's counting WITH ME).
Hmmm, Julie. I didn't see your post this morning. Yes, I went in on Sat and bought the couch at 20% off. But I did go to Thorton's first, which is a 'better' furniture store and couldn't even come close to the price of the one at Ashley's. Told Rick I was glad he talked me into buying the guarantee on it because something on it was bound to break before 5 years was up.
Man, super slow day in here today. Glad I had more tax stuff to organize or my nap time would have been super boring
Emily, the boys are getting colds again, too. They had colds, gave them to me and DH and now they're getting them back. UGH. This has been the worst winter for us with sicknesses!! Amazingly, though, Noelle hasn't had a single cold all winter.
Candace, how is your DH today? Are you getting any rest?
My ballet class was supposed to start tonight. I decided not to do it. We just don't have the money. I'm starting to fret a little bit about what we're going to do this summer if DH doesn't get summer school - and he won't find out about that until just before it starts, probably the end of May. The odds of him getting to teach are extremely slim because the district is only doing credit recovery, so they're not offering many classes.
Brian refused a morning nap and is refusing the afternoon nap, too. He's absolutely exhausted, though, and wants to just sleep on me. Ear infection? His nose only started running again yesterday...
Oh man I heard from Colleen that her whole house has had the stomach flu this weekend, including her last night. And you remember how action packed the weekend was supposed to be! Poor thing!
So today is the first day he has felt decent.. the fever finally broke.
I will catch up.. it is my goal to catch up
Oh NO!!! Poor Colleen. OhMyGoodness. I could not even begin to image.
Now, why can't that kind of thing happen when her lovely Italian mother is there?
Oh no....poor Colleen...hugs girl.....damn screwed up weekend
Oh no, Colleen!!!! :bigarmhug:
Ruth- Awww Im sorry you are not going to do the ballet class. I was really hoping you were going to be able to do it.
The reno is almost done. DH just has to put up the door. I have a late shift tomorrow so hopefully I can take some pictures before I leave for work.
why hello there sexy momma Emily in her new avatar!
Oh man, Colleen!! From having just been through that, I am feeling extra sympathetic to you! I hope you can put it all past you VERY soon!!
So I went to the eye doctor tonight... I can't really see very well since my eyes are still dilated... but do you guys remember a few weeks ago when I found something kind of like a stye? Well, it's not a stye. The doctor said he has never seen anything like it in his life. So he's sending me to an eyelid specialist. Who knew someone like that existed?? Anyway, I'm going to call in the morning to try to get an appt... hopefully it's nothing bad. Trying not to freak out. He did tell me not to lose any sleep over it. lol Of course, that's easy to say when you have no idea what the thing is.
DH is still feeling pretty miserable. He had energy for a few hours earlier today, which is great since I had to teach and then had the eye appt. But he said he's going to go see his doctor after school if he's not feeling better tomorrow. I really hope for all of our sakes that he is feeling better tomorrow!
Oh man colleen, sorry for all the sickness...you too Ruth...I hope that eye thing is nothing!
Quick question - is there anything I can give Miles for a cough? We went out to dinner last night and he literally coughed the whole way home - the longest break between coughs being maybe a minute tops. Is there anything in chewable form to give him because he tends to throw up liquids.
I gave him benedryl last night to knock him out (it's all I have with my at my moms house). He's got a stuffy nose too but the cough is AWFUL. Debating calling our trip short and heading home but that would cause tons of issues and it wouldn't really help the coughing issue, he would just be coughing in the car. Blah!
You should be able to give Miles anything OTC that says 4 and up on the bottle. But, I'm assuming that he has no underlying issues???? I'd call your pedi and ask them if he is big enough to take an OTC cold med. Plus, you need to know what is causing the cough, is it nasal drainage that is irritating his throat or is it a chest cough? A throat cough, you just need to keep his throat coated. Is he old enough to handle a cough drop? Jax does really well with cough drops, and something with honey in it helps a lot.
hi ladies..........i didn't read back yet.......i'm supposed to be paying bills before i take the kids to jacks docs and then all of them to the dentist........
my weekend was fun, fun........it was , even inbetween all the puking......
friday night we had an intimate get together, just 6 of us at one of my girlfriends house to hang out with our gf that we hadn't seen in 20 some odd years.......it was a late night........got home.......jack had puked in his crib......alot......so probably more than once......got him cleaned up and brought him back to bed with me.......i was not cleaning puke at 2am........
he was fine during the day saturday, but i left him home instead of bringing him to kairi's birthday party. the girls had fun, it was a great afternoon......i brought them home, and me and sarah were off to the airport.....picked up tony and chris.....and then drove all them over to his highschool friends house, so they could spend the night......i got home, dropped off sarah, and dan told me abby didn't feel good, she was in bed(it was 7pm...so nothing unusual) i left and went to my girlfriends house(our annual funcy pajama party) i didn't drink.....thank god!!!!!! i left at around 1am......got home to dan running from bed to bed, holding trash cans for the girls......so i crawled in with abby, and he crawled in with lucy.....they puked every 20 minutes for HOURS......i woke up sunday, cleaned the house, went grocery shopping, and then went to go get tony and chris....hung out, it was a beautiful day......i started supper.....and then realized......oh chit........i'm not feeling good.....i didn't eat supper......and i started puking at around 6pm........dan started around 2am.........i was ok enough to shower in the morning and take tony and chris to their interview(85 miles north.....omg.......i did think i was gonna die)......then they wanted to go out to lunch, and i just couldn't......i dropped them off at the airport at 12:30...they had a 3:30 flight......(i don't feel bad, they have club membership.....and the clubhouse at logan airport is extravegant....with a 5 star resteraunt in it........free laptop/wifi, free beer and fun, full bar........it's amazing)
so it wasn't the best "visit"......but he got his business done, and he got to catch up with the kids, and his friend.....sooooooo it wasn't a total waste.......and dan entertained him while i was hurling upstairs
ok.......gotta go pay bills and then start the doc appts for the day........max is snowboarding.....so it's only sarah , lucy, and abby.......
cristina.......just wanted to say, you've been in my thoughts all weekend.....i haven't been on fb in days.......so i'm not upto date on what is going on.....i will catch up later today, your in my thoughts and prayers.....(((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))
Oh no Colleen! I'm so sorry! :bigarmhug:
Emily, what Mel said. lol
Kelly, glad things are getting better over there!
Kat, can't wait to see the pics!!!
Ruth, that's interesting about the stye thing. KUP on what the eyelid specialist says. Sorry you couldn't take the ballet class, I was really hoping you would be able to too.
Cristina, :bigarmhug: Have you told what baby boy's name is going to be yet, or have you decided? I can't remember. Hang in there. :bigarmhug:
Colleen, I'm glad you were able to enjoy most of the weekend! So Dan didn't even call you with both girls puking? He just waited until you got home? I'm impressed.
Colleen :bigarmhug: to you girl, what a weekend! I'm so glad you had some fun at least, minus all the pukefest going on! I am also impressed Dan didn't call you!! Oh my girl, I hope this week drastically improves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cristina I hope everything today goes well and you get some answers that sit well. :bigarmhug:
Candace been meaning to ask about Wade, how's he doing in the poop department, did you find a happy medium? And how are you feeling? So does the radiation just occur a few days a week now? I know you've answered this before, but i keep forgetting!!!!
Emily, ditto to Mel too lol! Colby likes the mucinex packets that are powder, they are orange flavored.
Emily c3po, man I'm sorry the colds are making their rounds again, BOO! Ugh, I hate that, not like you want everyone to be sick at the same time, but the alternative is giving crap back and forth!!!!!
Ruth, hmmmm, not sure about the EI, maybe wait a day or so and see how he's acting? I sure hope your DH feels better today...like you said, for everyone's sake! And hope that he gets summer school as well, money is SO stressful. And yes KUP on the stye not a stye.
Mel, glad you got the couch girl!!!! I still LOL about the sales woman, too much!
Kelly glad Owen is feeling better!
Hmmm, forget what else......
We've got the cold crap starting again here too.....Daphne is on the cusp, and it seems like every time she ends up bacterial with an EI. Ugh. It's always me and Colby first, followed by Daphne...Dh seems to avoid most everything, lucky dude!
What she said!
Is everyone on the mend now?
Sorry I didn't catch up, wanted to ask the quick question. I am pretty sure it's a draining nasal congestion cough, not his chest. It's the kind of thing that I would just let run its course at home but since we're busy and visiting i would rather take care of it.
How are the rest of the sickies this morning?
Kat - hope you have time to take pics. Can't wait to see the room!
Yeah, no kidding. Totally impressed with Dan!!!! Rick is fabulous, bbut I can almost bet he'd be calling me demanding I come home and help with the 2 puking kids.
Jax likes the powder packets as well. Mucinex Multi-symptom Cold works really well for him. Make sure and encourage him to pound down the liquids though.
Julie. I have to tell you something. I'm one of those people that you can't just tell me to do something, you tell me WHY I need to do something. Last year when the kids had sickness after sickness and EVERY.SINGLE.TIME ended up with secondary infections that wouldn't clear on their own, well, every time we were in the docs office, she would rattle off a list of things to do that would help at home. Run the cool mist vaporizer in their rooms, use Vick's on their chest, and use a saline spray in their noses. You know I always ignored the nasal spray, did everything else, but man it's like a 3-ring wrestling match to use that damn nasal spray. The very last time of the season that they both were being seen, Jax for another stupid sinus infection and Abs for another dumb EI, I was grumbling up a storm to our doc about how this is a never ending cycle with us. She just asked me, am I using a saline wash in thier noses? I was like 'not consistently'. She said, your kids seem to produce super thick mucus, thick mucus does not drain well, if you would use the saline spray about 3-4 times a day it would help keep the mucus thinned and drain out of the sinus and for Jax it wouldn't sit in there and breed bateria, and for Abs, it wouldn't back up into her ears and stay there and breed bacteria. Well, dang it if that hasn't held true. We have had 3 colds this year, every one of them, I have been sure to use the nasal spray frequently on a daily basis. Guess what? Not one single freaking secondary infection this year.
Colleen, I was so glad to hear the puke bug didn't completely ruin your weekend.
Damn Colleen! you are a trooper to do all that while the household was puking.. hope the bug is over though!
I really love that the kids can take OTC stuff now.. helps so much! I have also used Mucinex
I did Costco yesterday with a long list and I still got out under 200.. I was impressed. I saw a woman go down with what looks like a stoke to me .. she dropped a jar of stuff everywhere ... anyways the employees who worked there were like " there is no protocol for this" "what do we do" I walked up in a irritated tone of super biotch and said " really you dumbass you need to call 911 here let me help you with that" Dh was standing there with his jaw open like "KELLY do not get involved!" I am like WHAT dude I dropped dead in a store you would want a someone to make chit happen! anyways I made formal complaint to the store manager on my way out.
Ruth hope you get answers on your eye.. sounds painful!
DH went shopping for jeans yesterday and came home with clothes for Everly.. so cute to see him proud of what he picked out LOL
Hmmmmm Mel, I think I'll pull out the saline spray that I don't use consistently lol! It totally makes sense, they both are just like your two, super thick snot that just sits there and breeds bacteria. And like you it's a friggin 3 ring circus getting the job done...BUT if it does mean it's not going to develop into something they need yet ANOTHER abx for....sorry kids, looks like Momma is going to be sitting on both of you several times today lol! I'll do it! And glad to hear it's worked for you guys, the proof is in the pudding! Or snot! Gross!
Hey ms Emily, whatever happened with the hearburn and stuff???
Morning all! Had a crazy busy weekend, but its R.E.A.D.I.N.G W.E.E.K Yay! I'll be around more this week
Colleen, that is a crazy weekend. Cudos to Dan!
We are passing a cold around too..fun times. DH and I use saline, but the kids its like torture. I'll have to try sitting on them
Kat, can't wait to see the finished pics!
Mel, when do you get your couch? Before and after pics?
Ruth, that sucks that you didn't do the ballet class. Hope DH gets a summer contract!
Candace, hope DH got off the couch for you!
Christina, how are you doing today? Hang in there!
Anyone seen Jan lately....I was thinking of her yesterday.
Ruth- hope it is nothing
Emily- we use Triaminic Cold and Cough for kids. It works wonders for us. Disolves on the tounge.
