Have at it, ladies!

Peg, ROFL he even poop talks in his sleep. What is it with little kids and talking about poop and fart all day long? That is so good that he at least sits on the potty. Lol I didn't even think about that kind of beaver Wink She was watching Franklin at the time so I just assumed she was talking about the beaver on the show.

Colleen, how is Max this afternoon?

Nicole, I taught Bradley sitting down. Yay for DJ getting an early start!

"Jumarse" wrote:

Emily, I have to say I DID think of *that* kind of beaver, but I have the mind of a 15 year old boy! :ROFL:Daphne will drink water from a sippy all day long, still will not drink milk out of anything but a bottle and with me giving it to her sitting down. Tried the bottle letting her hold it, nope, I gotta hold her. So we are a LONG way from being bottle free, if the only way I can get her to drink milk is for me to feed it to her while sitting down, oh well lol!

Peg LOL at poop yelling!!! Ty cracks me up!!!!!!

Colleen how's Max! Has anyone else said anything about feeling off? HOPE NOT!!!!!!!!!!

Nicole good luck with the potty!!!!

Gaaaahhhh I just finished selling stuff on ebay, I've sold stuff on ebay for a long time, NEVER have sent out the wrong package. So I post something to sell on that FB page for the first time, 2 things sold. The one woman paid me, I have so much going on I put the wrong friggin thing and mailed it to her, the more expensive item. Ugh, I felt sick having to message her saying OOPS, sent you the wrong thing, I'll pay you to send it back and I'll send out the right item tomorrow. Here's hoping she'll send it back before this other woman pays me....I sent the non-payer a message asking if she paid me, since she said she did and it's not there....gee, what are the chances of me getting her item back before she pays? About zero. Guess that's the last time I'll be selling on that page!

"Jumarse" wrote:

Ahhhh well it might be okay, the momma I sent the wrong item to was completely understanding, said it's happened to her before, and she'll send the dress off to the right person when she gets it (I'll PP her the postage). The other woman who had not paid sent her money, so I had to message her the mix up, and hopefully she'll understand and not think it's a scam lol!

"toothy35" wrote:

emily, my mind was in the gutter, too, when i read beaver..........LMAO!!!!!!

nicole...good luck with pting....max was a sitter at 1st....but very quickly changed to a standup boy....fruitloops/cheerios made all the difference in our potty training experience.........the boy had good aim!!!!

julie.....holy crap on the mix up......i'm already nervous to sell all of lucy's clothes when she starts outgrowing....i can totally see that happening........i'm glad it got settled relatively easily!!!!!!!!!!! phewwww!!!!!

took the kids out for icecream......lucy's school was having a fundraiser at friendly's....so we had taco's at home, then went out for dessert....it was mobbed........LOL.......but we got our icecream.....and the kids had a good time(so did i Smile )

Eta: max is feeling human again :). Tfa

Good luck with the gardening! No, they've never seem to be bothered by it, although I really limit my caffeine intake. And they're nursing so infrequently (Micah is just once a day, Brian a small handful of times) that they're really not getting much milk from me anymore.

Emily, ROFL at beaver!!

ROFL

Julie, oh man, I can totally see myself doing something like that!! I'm glad it was straightened out with little difficulty. That is so nice of the buyer to just ship it to the correct person!

Candace, is today your last day of radiation??

Mmmm. ice cream. Smile I'm glad everyone is finally on the mend.

Mel, I hope you got to get out with Chelle last night. Is that short for Michelle? Just curious. P

Cristina, thinking about you today!!!

Sorry to anyone I missed. I took Brian to the pedi yesterday. He still has a fever, a bit of a dry cough and some deep-sounding congestion, but his nose isn't runny at all. His lungs/ears are clear, thankfully. The pedi wants to see the fever gone by tomorrow. Me, too. And Noelle started feeling warm last night before bed even though she insisted vehemently that she felt fine. She woke up in the middle of the night and told me she wasn't feeling good. Micah coughed a LOT during the night. It's weird, he's been on antibiotics for a week now and even though he acts like he's feeling better, he still has a TON of drainage and this productive cough. I think they're just catching stuff on top of the last crap they caught. Whatever the case, I have 3 sick kids by myself today. I really hoped that would never happen again, because it's heartbreaking to not be able to hold all 3 kids in your lap at once. Sad

Anyway, just gearing up for what could be a rough day. Noelle also finally has her ENT appt this afternoon. I looked with the otoscope again and just don't see anything unusual anymore, but she says it still hurts... she also really doesn't want to blow her nose because she says it really hurts to do that.

what is everyone up to this weekend? my DH has a concert on Sunday afternoon but we're probably going to end up laying low and hope all the sickness just goes the heck away!!!

Ruth, sounds like a quiet weekend is definitely in order at your house!

Colleen, glad everyone is feeling better and that you go icecream! YUM!

Mel, check in when you can!

I'm heading to my parents to visit for the weekend. We are going to a donkey rescue on Sunday. The kids are super excited...me too. Apparently they are very docile and friendly. They have one named Eyeore that Alicia is SUPER excited to meet.

Nicole, enjoy the donkey rescue and take some pics for us!

Julie, we are nowhere near getting rid of the bottle either.... JD is the same way as Daphne, he loves to be held when he drinks his bottle. It is totally a comfort thing. Oh well, I don't mind keeping my baby a baby a little longer Wink

Peg, I am so jealous! I really do need to get back into golf. Every time I get back into it I have another baby and have to take a 2-3 year hiatus. Didn't you get Alyssa clubs? HAve you taken her out to swing them around yet? Gweny has yet to use hers. I do think that one football is over I am going to get B some lessons. That boy is actually really good!

Candace, yay for the last night of radiation!!!! You did it!!!! You are such an inspiration, my friend.

Quick, stuff from the old thread before I forget.

Thanks for all the well wishes of safety. These storms are pretty bad. Already a tornado through Alabama. the system is still about 50 miles west of us and is still moving straight for us.

I did have my volunteer shift this morning. And then I bought a really cool play theater puppet type of thing that doubles as a playhouse. Spent $55 on it, I know it was a couple hundred new. I did really good last night. I only spent $160, less than q/w what I normally spend. No MJ. I even took the time to look through the 4's and 6's for ya'll, but didn't find any. Scored 4 Kate Mackey swim suits that ranged in price from 5-10. Seriously. A Kate Macky swimsuit, NWT for $5. Then I stuck to my goal to find Abs 'normal' clothes. Got some cute stuff.

Ruth, Chelle is short for Lachelle. And after the sale, we went back to her house so she ccould empty the milk bags and then we went to culvers and grabbed some icecream.

Cristina, thinking about you today. How are holding up?

I farted away nap time by drawing pictures. ROFL Gotta bust a move to get ready to leave for MY LAST TREATMENT.

Emily, just saw your post - I just went to wordpress.com and picked out a blog format I liked and started typing! Smile It has been very user friendly.

I think some people use Blogger. Ruth might be able to say which of those two she prefers. Not sure what Wendy and others use, but I will be happy to help you set one up...just can't do it today!!! Smile

Mel, GLAD YOU ARE SAFE. Hope the tornadoes stay away. Good deal on the swimsuits!

LOL....yea....the first day it was nice we brought both of them to the driving range...it was hysterical...i couldn't relax cause steve was trying to get all serious with them and then he would swing to show them and i was worried that ty would run into his club....steve was pissy and was like 'relax i'm not swinging a full swing' ...ummm..hello.....it is still an iron and will cause brain damage or make him lose his eye.....plus there were other guys there and i was worried they were gonna bother them...lol...it was quite comical....they liked it too so maybe we hooked them...lol

mel.....glad it hasn't hit you yet....sweet on the pluppet/playhouse thing...sounds cool.....and glad you had a good night with your BFF!!!!!! stay safe!!!!

Ok, Rick was just sent home, they shut down the shop. The consignment sale closed at 2:00, it was supposed to go until 8pm tonight. Sad Which means, I only got a 1/2 day to sell my stuff. Not looking pretty. out of $1000.00 only $432 has sold. Most peeps shop Sat for the 1/2 price sale, but none of my stuff is tagged for that. A few things will sell, but I'll be bringing the majority home.

Ok, and since Rick is on his way, I've got to go.

:woohoo: to your last treatment Candace

AWESOME float pics Colleen.

Storm should be here in about 20-30 minutes. This is NOT looking pretty at all, but we shall see.

Glad you're safe Mel!

YAY Candace!!

So, I had a meeting at Miles's school last night at 8 (which I was running for their spring carnival fundraiser). We're talking, it's all fine, it's time to go I realize I don't feel great. Come home (G was with M) tell him I don't feel well, he left, I went upstairs and got ready for bed. Walked out of the bathroom with my jammies on, turn right around and walk back in to throw up. Clean up. Puke again.

Felt well enough to call G and ask him to come sleep in my guestroom (because I felt worse every time I puked). Ended up spending the next 8 hours exploding from both ends, basically (sorry for the TMI). It was horrendous. I spent most of the night on the bathroom floor.

Haven't puked again, but have had a fever the rest of the day and finally just worked up the strength to move into the computer.

Sickness from HELL I tell ya!! I haven't felt this sick and weak in...maybe ever! (G took the day off, and has been taking care of M). I've been keeping him as far away from me as possible!

Hey lovelies!

Yahoo CANDACE!! I'm so stinkin' excited for you to be done! Yahoo

And Cristina, crampy and pinchy sounds great. Tons of thoughts with you this weekend, girl.

Mel, I'm so glad you're OK. How scary. Ugh.

Emily c3- I use Typepad, but it's fairly expensive (~$130/year, I think). It really depends on what you're doing your blog for. If it's just personal, I'd say head over to the free Wordpress version. For a business, Typepad is awesome because they host and provide a bunch of tools for you to make it professional AND super-easy. You can also purchase a domain name through a site like GoDaddy and redirect your blog to it if you don't want a wordpress.nameofyourblog.com type URL. I'd be happy to help with that if it's something you need to do.

Cute pics Colleen!

Oh my Emily ms, that sounds horrendous!

We had a super-busy week here, meetings, playdates, etc. So hard to keep up with everything! And thanks a *lot* to everyone who recommended the Outlander books. Wink I'm totally hooked and spend all my free time reading ATM. It's actually really nice to make time to read, but I'm starting to think with a Scottish accent. I dinna know if I'd fancy the storyline, but lassies, apparently I do. Ye Ken. Sassenach. Just had to throw a few more in there! lol

Thinking about you today, Cristina!!!

Colleen, LOVED those pics!! Lucy is such a sweetie and I loved all the pics of the kids with their little box things, whatever they're called! K-2nd are such fun ages to teach, when the kids are so sweet (usually ;)) and enthusiastic about almost everything! Abby totally fits right in with them, too. Smile

Mel, I'm so glad you guys are okay, but so bummed for you about the consignment sale. That is a whole lot of work for nothing. Sad

Emily, oh no! I have never before heard of so many stomach bugs than this year. I hope it's just a super quick thing and that you feel normal today.

Emily, re: blogs. I've been with blogger (blogspot) since shortly before Noelle was born and then recently have been exploring wordpress. Here are my thoughts about the two... blogger is a bit more user friendly and more simple. They even completely overhauled their main page where you do all the 'behind the scenes' work so it was just as new to me as wordpress, and it's STILL easier. That said, it feels older and less cool now... kind of like using an AOL e-mail account as opposed to the more hip gmail accounts. Does that make sense at all? Wordpress has better themes and backgrounds, IMO. Their default fonts are much better, too. And statistically, much more people are using Wordpress now than any other blogging site. I expected it to be WAY better on all fronts, but it's really not. And I have to say that every single time I go to save what I'm working on, it briefly takes away EVERYTHING I've typed and it freaks me out every time.

ROFL Wendy! So glad you popped in. Biggrin I think I thought 'Scottish' for a few months after reading those books, too! I will say she's a WAY better writer than Stephanie Meyer (twilight chick). But I have never ever read such poor writing for a book that had such a wide audience...

So I took Noelle to the ear/nose/throat doctor yesterday. He was very nice, examined her thoroughly, she will be talking about mashed potatoes in her ears for a long time now, I'm sure. Smile But he couldn't find anything wrong. He said that kids will sometimes just say something hurts when it doesn't. I know this is true, but Noelle is pretty tough. She will complain endlessly about a tiny scratch on her finger that couldn't possibly hurt, and refuse to mention the raging fever/cough/whatever that is plaguing her. I know I've mentioned this before... I tried a different tactic with her when we got home and said, "Aren't you glad your nose doesn't hurt anymore?" and she got upset and said that it STILL hurt. I don't know what to think. Should I just ignore it for a few days and see if she doesn't mention it? I can't imagine what could be the problem. What do you all think?

Ruth does Noelle get the whole, present, past, future stuff? I know Jax doesn't. And it's not that he just doesn't get if something happened yesterday or this morning, he would be equally confused about something like that. The other day we got in the car and he told me we have a flat tire. I told him no, my tire is fixed, it isn't flat anymore. He insisted it was flat. It was almost as if he thought I was trying to say the tire had never been flat. Like he was talking about the very existence of the situation, not whether RIGHT NOW the tire was flat. To Noelle, her nose still was sore last week, and she might think you are trying to tell her that her nose had never even hurt, not even in the past??????????

ruth.......yup.........i love this age.......5-11 is an awesome, awesome timeframe for little girls(sometimes longer.....sarah's witchy side didn't start showing up till maybe 5th-6th grade, but i know a lot of my gf's started complaining a lot earlier than i did......lol) but, yes, this is the age of sweetness, love of everything, and just simple happiness!!!!!!!! and the sponge factor......the wanting to learn everything is awesome,t oo!!!!!!!!!!!!! her teacher yesterday must have said about 5 times how she just LOVED teaching this age!!!!!!!!

if it were me, i would definately put the nose thing on the back burner.......if she's not mentioning it.....i wouldn't ask how it was feeling type of deal.......if she says it hurts....i wouldjust short and sweetly say, the doctor said it was ok, we're just gonna give it some time to feel better........and be done with it........i bet if you told her you had to squirt saline solution up her nose 4 times a day...she would stop complaining about it...;) well at least my kids would, they hate the nasal spray........LOL!!!!!!!

mel......so are the storms all done, moved out, and everything good in the weather dept for today.?????? i didn't realize how many of my friends on fb live in your neck of the woods.

That is a great point.... hmm. I need to think about that. I would say she's about 50/50 with that concept. She will say things in the present tense (in fact, I think we have had that EXACTconversation about a flat tire! lol) but a few minutes ago I asked if Brian threw something away and she said no, even though he has many, many times.

Colleen, yes, I'm definitely going to stop asking her and hopefully the issue will just go away... hopefully! I hate to ignore an actual issue, but I guess if it's really bothering her she'll keep bringing it up, right?

OK, I'm ditching my DH with these cranky kids. Biggrin A little prayer meeting at church and then maybe I'll swing by TJ Maxx to see if I can spend my 10 year old gift card on some M&D. ROFL

Hope you feel better Emily.

Glad you are safe Mel. That stinks you didnt get everything sold.

YAY Candace for finishing your last treatment. Hope dinner was good.

Cristina- sending you labor vibes. Hope something is happening.

Colleen- Love the pics

Not much going on here. Garage door freaking broke. And right after we just a portion of our savings to do Josh's room and to pay off the truck. Now we have to come up with some money cause Dh wants to just replace the whole thing. Oh and we are still in the process of saving for the new roof. Couldnt have happened at a better time. Yay me. Ok enough negative thinking. Hoping to take the kids to the park for the first time in a while on Tues or Wed. They need to get out of the house. Tomorrow is supposed to be stormy here. Nothing like what Mel had to go through.

Candace Yahoo you are DONE!!! Oh I'm so happy for you, like Colleen said, you don't have to go next week, just in case you were wondering lol! Oh my girl, I know there are still steps to take, but what huge hurdles you've already jumped!!

Ruth, I'd also try and minimize the nose hurting, don't ask her if it hurts....and if she tells you maybe just say like was suggested or you said...the doc said you are okay...and just go from there. Very frustrating I think!

Kat I'm sorry on the garage door! That's how it always is, the second you think things are good, bam, something else needs money!

Mel what was the final assessment in your area?

Colleen, Lucy is so freakin cute! And so is Abby, she looks adorable in her MJ! What a cool day! And I'm so sorry about Max, wth dude!

So what ya crafting Peg?

I don't think you are checking here today Cristina, but really thinking of you! I hope it goes nice and easy!!

Emily c3po, I still can't believe JD has given up his naps! Oh myyyy, I'm hoping it's a little stage and he decides even a short nap might be nice!

Moving more forward in the home front, we know what we need to do to get out of this place. Still working on de-junkifying. My gma gave me soooo much stuff, like 6 glass pie dishes, a 7 foot tall and 3 foot wide china cabinet that's overflowing with 6 shelves of stuff I'll never use...that's just an idea. Four sets of end tables, we have a living room and den.....anyway, step by step lol!

WTF? Oh the joys of teenagers. I remember being his age. I have no advice for ya, sounds like you know what you're doing. Hope you punish him to within an inch of his life so he never does it again! Also just wanted to say to you, the mom, that I really do think most kids go thru this sort of rebellion or pushing the limits sort of thing and in no way does it reflect on your parenting or you. I promise he will turn out to be an upstanding citizen. Just make sure there is hell to pay between now and then. Thinking of you!!

thanks jan!!!!!!!! i did have an "epic fail parenting meltdown".........in front of max.......wanted him to share in my grief!!!!!! it got worse last night......but i'm relentless.......i really am a bulldog, and i am just all over him like flies on poop........sent him to bed last night at 9.....at 9am i went down and woke his asshat self up, and made him come grocery shopping with me......when i woke him up, he had smashed 2 lamps and put like 10 burn marks with a lighter the window box i made for him last week.....it's only insulation board which has very low flamablity....he's just a dumbass.......so now he doesn't have a room.......he will sleep upstairs and share jacks room.......he can sleep listening to twinkle twinkle little star, and knick knack patty whack........all friggen night long....and if it's too much for jack....i'll max's butt on an airmattress in the girls room .......there is room......i took his i pod from him the second i got to the mall, so he didn't have time to delete his free text.............man that made for some interesting reading...........so now i have all the incriminating evidence i needed about him..........and well......he's only about a milimeter away from death..........he apologized.........and i wrote out a bunch of stuff last night for dan(dan likes to forgive and forget very easily....NOT THIS TIME) and him to see.........my newly revised asshat rules.........grrrrrrrrrr.........

what's max's punishment.?? he has nothing......no bedroom, no friends, no ipod, no facebook, no tv, no computer, no wii, a haircut, no life........nothing....no music, no phone, so far this weekend he has sat at the kitchen table all day......yesterday for 6 hrs.......and today for about 7 hrs........he's not allowed to be left home alone, he will no longer be allowed to babysit his siblings......he already wrote a letter of apology to the store/mall security/and the mom of the kid he was with.........i may allow him to pick his own clothes out for school tomorrow, but i'm not sure about that.......i packed away his snowboard, he's not going again for the rest of this board season.......and that's what i can think of right now.......i'm sure i've taken more away.....i will buy drug tests tomorrow to keep in the house.....i will test his piss tomorrow.......if he's smoking pot(which i highly doubt it......) it will show up....i have time....but i'm not ruling it out.......something is causing him to make this unrational decisions......so that's where i'm starting......it's been an awful weekend..... dan has said about 8 words since he got home yesterday...being disgusted in your kid is a very wearing emotion......
