A little late on this one. Forgive me!
Seriously? Discomfort ALL WEEK and he just now "casually" mentions it to you. Ugh.
Hope he can hire some productive 3rd shift people.
Coxsackie is Hand Foot Mouth disease. Herpe like blisters in and around the mouth, hand and feet, can spread to the dipe area and sometimes the arms and legs. I do believe you have to have the blisters in the mouth, though. My kids mouths were covered in them, it was the most awful terrible exhausting week of my life. Started with 3 days of a fever and then Abby got a little red spot between her lip and chin, then all hell broke loose. The entire inside of their mouths were covered in sores. Abby only nursed, wouldn't take any other food or liquid, Jax wouldn't eat anything but bread for an entire week.
Julie, I always thought a warning (vs a watch) was that one had been spotted also!!! hmm.
Emily, YES, you should take more advantage of the beach!!! My girls really loved it while we were down there. Wade liked it a little less, but it was just a little too hot out there for him, I think. Hope Miles EMBRACES the swim lessons!! Oh and my arm is okay. Not great. I've got some "issues" - mostly from just generally being out of shape from lack of physical activity for the last 5 yrs (due to laziness during pregnancy + then being sick). I tire SOOOOO easily. I mean, it literally TIRES me to get the kids all loaded, out of the house and into the car. So today, loaded/unloaded them three or four times, plus playing at the park, plus nature walk at grandmas, PLUS the heat/humidity and I literally fell asleep in the chair here soon after I typed that this afternoon. I nap almost every day. So, more than you wanted to know...but that is where I am right now!
And I go back to the oncologist in a couple of weeks...June 13!
Oh and as for the chickenpox, I think a month is too long, it's more like a week or 2 and it should only be Wade that it effected
but I could be wrong.
Okay, did not know the technical name for HFM.
So could Ella have Chicken Pox from exposure to Wade's vaccine?
This was supposed to be a 12m vax and they didn't give it to him then b/c they said it was a live virus and didn't want him to have it while I was on chemo (presumably because I "could have" gotten it from him, I guess...?) -
I don't know, but I really hope it is just bug bites. Ella was ALL OVER baby Caroline this weekend.
Let us know what the PA says!
Has Ella not been vaxed for pox? I still think a month is too long, exposure to c'pox is a 2 week thing, not a month. I wouldn't worry about baby Caroline if she is nursing. When Abby was just 4 days old, we thought Jax had HFM then, and the pedi said Abby would be just fine since she was nursing.
Anyway, are the sores on the palms of her hands?
Okay, that is great news about Caroline. yes, she is nursing.
I thought it was 2 weeks too, but I distinctly remember him saying in about a month and thinking he was wrong. lol Anway, I'm not gonna worry about it too much, because yes, she was vaccinated...and I believe had a tiny outbreak then of pox (or coincidental "marks" on her body anyway....)
Jax also got 3 small pox about 10 days later. Abby did not.
I'll have to catch up later, because I am really busy making some meatballs and apple pie tonight.
Ruth, those were great meatballs. Thanks for sending them my way.
I may hear something from the PA before Monday. She said she usually checks her email over the weekend.
Abby woke me up one too many times last night. I basically put her to bed before she had dinner so at 12:30 I brought her downstairs, gave her some ibuprofen and had her eat a banana, stuck her in bed with us. I was pleased to realize she was completely fever free actually was the first time on a week I've felt her skin 'chilled', and then she was an icecube all night long.
The kids are currently playing in the bathtub. Why does Jax live to antagonize his sister? Drives me batty.
Ok, now I'm rambling because I'm bored.
Morning. Gotta see if I know anything about Ruth's apple pie in a bit.
Mel glad the fever was gone but sorry she was a cube now...extremes! Hope Rick feels better and the PA calls back.
Candace hmmm, still has a fever? I think a month is too long to show pox bumps from Wade's vax IMO. Daphne had 2 small bumps maybe a week or so after her vax. Excema? But that wouldn't be a fever too, so I'm stumped!
I was tempted to try Colby's melatonin last nite for myself to see if it helped...I don't think I like that stuff at all, especially for kids after what I've read. I'll try it for him VERY short term, I definitely don't want to take it for myself, one of the side effects is nausea....if that's even close to a side effect, I'll be nauseated, so no thanks!
help.......i decided i'd "clean" the pantry out.........nothing crazy right??????????? oy...oy....oy......2 hrs later, and i only have 1/4 of it taken out, sorted, cleaned, and put aside...........
Have fun with that Colleen!
And thanks...for all the Duck Dynasty talk last week. I recorded the episode where they hunted down beavers. Seriously? Sadly, I'm hooked. My favorite line = "Ducks are like the ladies. They don't like mud on their butts." Who can make that stuff up?
Told you DD was the bomb.
Colleen, that is why I'm so happy I'm married to Felix. He does the pantry.
So what would you do... you see a friend's pic on FB of her nephew asleep in the backseat of her car. He is sprawled across the backseat and he is in a backless booster with just the car's loose seatbelt on him. He just recently turned 3 and is not legally allowed to be in this kind of booster yet. Do you say something to her about it or no? (She regularly has him in her car but is pregnant with her first child and may or may not be aware of the laws about car seats)
hmm Candace I bet it the pox.
Mel hope the kiddos fevers go down! I use panko in place of breadcumbs like 90% of the time..
Colleen- hope you get good news on Dan
I have no idea what a Grand National is... but alas most cars are better than guys IMO
I added connect four to wish list for a reminder come Xmas time.
Having friends over for a BBQ.. amazing how clean your house can get when you have people over.. I should do this more often.
I would say something
#1 she might not know.. and those tickets are SERIOUS money.
#2 how would you feel if something happened to the kiddo? at even low speeds he could be gravely injured!
#3 no question SAY SOMETHING
I'm well known by friends for being picky about carseats and I have no problem saying something. I just feel like I gotta try jic something happens.
yes, I'm quoting myself, because I don't think you read back a page. LOL
I would totally say something. Or include a link to one of the carseat safety sites and just quote the brief stats for the laws in your state
I would say something, but preface it with something like not sure you knew but and just tell her what you wrote.
I would say something. It shouldnt be too hard if you think she is unaware of the laws. She may be greatful.
Mel- I hope your dh feels better.
Candace- is it like a rash?
i'd send her a private message about it......and find a gentle way to say it...i bet she will take it the right way .
4pm.........pantry is done!!!!!!!! wow.........what a job..........it's not just a food pantry, it is shared with the kids toys/crafts/vacuum/floormate, etc.........sooooooooo cleaned out all the bins of toys, organized a rainy day box....went through the playdough bin, and all the other bins, arranged them neatly......and washed the floor and counters while it was empty!!!!!!! now that was a productive day........considering it was done with help from all 3 littles, and max and andrews rainy day dirtbike mudfest, and sarah and danny's boredom!!!!!!!! well dan wasn't bored anymore, i set him to work getting the screens washed and in the doors, and i had bought some new safer screen guards so the kids won't push the screen's out again.......they are hideous, but it's better than rescreening the doors every year!!!!!!!!!!! and sarah is still cleaning her room..........LOL!!!!!!!!!!
Trying to calm down... DH got paint on the carpet. Just tracked it right in the house without a second thought (or a first thought, obviously). Actually, it's worse than paint - it's a 'deck restore' kind of paint, which is thicker than paint. I can't even google cleaning it up right now, I'm so mad.
