I also linked that one in the corn on the cob thread, Mel! ROFL

Okay, laundry. I hate laundry. I have 7-10 loads a week. The sad thing is, the girls, dh and I ALL could go without washing clothes for month. Wade...not so much. So tempting to let it pile up. I have at least 4 loads of bed linens per week. It is ridiculous. [eta: to clarify, my wardrobe at the end of that month may would be pajamas now that I think about it. haha]

I washed 1 load a day at the beach last week and came home with about three dirty loads...granted, some of that was extra beach towels that we don't normally have in the rotation.

Karrie, 9 years in diapers...wow! I'm hoping I'm done with them after the 5 yr mark. Smile How are you loving staying at home?

Nicole, so sorry for the virus that went through your house. So far Cadence is the only one here who has been sick. REally REALLY praying it stays away.

Ruth and Colleen - I read your scary stories (allergy and boat) - *hugs* ... glad you are both quick thinkers and handled the situation!

Cristina, are you lurking? Off to go see when you start your new chemo. Hang in there! :bigarmhug:

Deb, I read in your check in thread about Grace wanting to dress like you. That is adorable. Smile Love it!

Julie and PEg, come back!

Hi Kelly and Mel! :wavehello:

I know I missed people. I'm sorry! Will try to keep up better!

Emily, I forgot to say that Cadence will also never wear a size 7. Wah wah wah. Where are our babies?!! SadSadSad

And other Emily, how did Gweny do at VBS. Ella had a fit and wouldn't really stay this year. Cadence did well most nights, but one night they had to call me to come pick her up...

The sectional we have is curved, as opposed to a true 'L' with a sharp corner. So, there is a nice little roomy spot behind it in the corner. Jax is camped out back there napping.

And this is how my daughter started her nap today

Ruth - are you still doing the Fresh 20? How do you like it? There is a Groupon that expires tomorrow for a year of meal plans for $24 from Fresh 20 and they have gluten-free. Just wondering if it is worth it.

I totally forgot to comment on the scary stories.

Ruth, I'm so sorry that Brian had a reaction to the hummus. there is nothing scarier. I'm in hypervigilant mode right now with watermelon everywhere. I hope you never ever have to experience that again!

Colleen, CRAP! I cannot imagine the stress of 5 kids (plus playmates) in the water. We had 3 adults and 4 kids and I was still beside myself (and we were at Wasaga, where you can go out about 1/2 mile before its over Alicia's head). You are a good mama!

Karrie, 9 years of dipes is WAY to long. Hope the PT continues to go well.

Mel, that is too cute!

Laundry, we do about 8 loads a week. DH does most of it, but I put it away. We line dry, so we find it takes most of a day to get one load. Sometimes we are super efficient and get through two...and I usually cheat at least one load through the dryer.

If I remember correctly, Ruth only did the free trial offer of Fresh 20

I am SO BUMMED OUT. and I currently feel lost and overwhelmed. I just went through Jaxon's 2011/2012 winter stuff. A pm from my favorite GF seller prompted this. He has caught up to her son. We both had a feeling this was going to happen. But it is now a reality. He will be in a 5 in J&J/Gap a 6 in TCP/BODEN. That is the size her son will be in this year too. Which means, NONE of her son's stuff from last year is going to work for Jax. Seriously people this is HUGE. I buy 95% of Jaxon's wardrobe from her. I just lost my easy stress free shopping source. Sad

Laundry wise, DH and I are having a debate about washing machines. I've put the hookup for a washer in my upstairs master bath. Its a huge room, with nothing in it beyond the bathtub, vanity and toilet. I want to use the space more efficiently. Our sunroom (off the kitchen and leading to backyard) also has a laundry station with an apartment sized stackable washer and dryer. We have a full size set in the unfinished basement. My current plan is to put a high efficiency washer and dryer upstairs and to leave the extra washer in the basement (in what will eventually be the washroom) for yucky stuff (DH's work clothes etc). I want to remove the apartment sized ones and put a dishwasher there with storage over top (and the eating island will be right beside it when we do the kitchen reno). Now, the dishwasher is in an awkward spot in the kitchen - which is small to begin with. Dh wants to keep laundry on each level. What do you think?

Nicole, I would NEVER get finished with laundry if I had to line dry everything! NEVER. That, and the kids would change clothes a lot less often! Wink

Adorable pics, Mel! So sweet!

Nicole, so would that be machines on each of the three levels once you have the hook up in the master?
If so I would definitely ditch one for the dishwasher!

Mel, so sorry about Jax outgrowing his clothing source. Sad Sad times...

First, my dream custom home would include a washer/dryer in the master closet.
one question, where you are talking about putting the dishwasher, is there also going to be a sink there?

i've always wanted a washer on the 2nd floor......but now that i have 2 in the basement and 5 on what is now the 3rd floor.....i guess having my washer/dryer in the middle is really the best option...and i do about 15 loads of laundry a week.....on the week i do beds.....its an easy 20 loads........after a day of boating .........thats an extra load of towel's and suits.......laundry is everyday or it becomes overwhelming very fast!!!!!!!!!!

mel........is there someone else you have grown to trust on gymbo????? that can give you a "referral" to another mom's seasonal stash????? and adorable pics mel!!!!! so cute......now do you just leave them there?? or do you carry abs to her crib???????

Colleen, I would quickly sink with the amount of laundry you have to do. I'd have to get my poop in a group and fast. LOL I carried Abby to her bed, she's not in a crib anymore, Jax slept his entire nap back there. Of course he was woke up when Abby and M got up.

Mel- that is crazy you dont do laundry that often.

Karrie- Yay for PT success.

Sofia was pooping in the corner again today. Dh had enough and got upset her about it. Apparently that was what was needed cause now she has been going to the potty on her own. Of course she is not telling us she has to go, she just gets up there on her own. And she is not wiping. Joy. I cant have everything all at once I guess. LOL

Josh had an appointment with the psychologist yesterday. She says that he avoind the topic of speaking to other kids. Poor Josh. Just thinking about it stresses him out. He is coming along way, but we have a very long way to go. I might not agree with the doctor on everything, but she is doing something right.

Nicole - DH and I used to line dry at our old house, but it is against HOA here since our house backs up to the golf course. And I'd keep laundry on two floors not three. Get thee a dishwasher.

on tap today...skylight getting fixed, swimming at Grace's sitter's house, and who knows what else

Oh don't worry ladies, we have a dishwasher. It is currently used to store the baking pans as DJ finds the buttons highly entertaining and keeps breaking the damn thing. DH does them by hand. Once we've renovated the kitchen we will have a sink by the dishwasher (where the laundry in the sunroom is now). For now, I'm happy to go ahead and have to cart them to the dishwasher after rinsing them. If we have one or two more kids (fosters) then I will need a dishwasher for my sanity. DH only does them once a day so there is usually a huge pile sitting on my kitchen counter which stresses me out!

Mel, sorry about the seller. That sucks!

Deb, good luck with the skylight! We are getting our roof done today and they are installing a skylight in the master bath. I'm so excited. Its a cave right now, no natural light at all. Have fun swimming.

Kelly, Disney movies and netflix keep my house going many a day.

Colleen, tooth questions. Alicia went to the dentist yesterday for the first time. She has 3 cavities that they can see without x-ray. We are good about brushing twice a day. They said its because she likes sticky food like raisins and nutrigrain bars. Really? Is there something else going on? Weak enamel maybe? Advice please!

does she take fluoride? use fluoride toothpaste? how many times a day does she brush? does she eat after she brushes? do you brush her teeth? if she eats a lots of breads, crackers, fishes, etc...throughout the day.....that is just sugar, sugar, sugar...throw in some nice sticky raisins, and the sugar just sits there...if she eats that stuff daily, than yes.....that can be the culprit....if she's drinking juice, she's just "washing" her teeth with sugar......it's probably a combination of all of that....unless they said she has hypoplasia....then she doesn't have "weak enamel"........enamel is stronger than your bones.

I am distraught. We are losing Caroline. I'm very excited for her, she is currently a clinical supervisor at the WKU Communications Disorder Clinic. Basically, she supervises a group of graduate students with their therapy and evals. WKU created a new position, Assistant Clinical Director and offered it to her. The current Clinical Director will be retiring next year. They created this position to prep her for taking over the Director spot when this happens. Of course the responsibilities of this promotion means she needs to drop her private therapy practice.

Mel, so sorry you are losing Caroline. Sad

I've been line drying all our laundry this summer. I love the smell of it!

Day 1 - 1 pee accident, no poop
Day 2 - 1 pee and 1 poop accident
Day 3 - so far, no accidents, no poop yet either.

I am thrilled!

Owen is going in next week to get 2 cavities fixed too.. Colleen suggested taking ACT flouride on a Qtip and wiping teeth.

I was so dissapointed he brushes 2 times day flosses 1x a day and barely drinks juice or anything .. still had 2 tiny ones Sad

I literally just bought the ACT today.

I got 4 hours out shopping without kids today! WOW I needed that

Kelly, I dream of 4 hours shopping alone. Our babysitters are pretty much maxed out taking care of the kids when we go to appointments.

DH just called from work. He won't be leaving there until after 10 pm tonight and he won't be able to stay at the beach with us all next week because of work. Blah.

Candace- I wouldnt go in and give them a snack, but my kids have been extremely picky about eating lately and I dont want to give in.

Mel- I am so sorry you are losing Caroline. When Josh was getting services through early steps, we kept losing the good ones.

Peg- Yay for Ty

Kelly- Ugh cavities. That stinks. I dont know if Josh has any cause he still wont let the doctor in his mouth. I have to hold him down so he can count the best he can.

Karrie- Awsome job with the PTing

Sofia didnt have any accidents today so far. We havent had any poops yet so I dont know how that is going to go. She told DH granmother, who was watching her today, that she was not going to go pee on the potty for her. After crying the first time she had to go she ran to get her the second time and told her "hurry I have to go potty" in Spanish. She is a stubborn little bugger, but I love her.

Tired is... telling your DH, 'I think I'm just going to go to bed and get up in the morning.'

I meant that I'm so tired I'm going to bed without cleaning up anything, but I'll do it all in the morning before everyone wakes up. Yeah.

Just skimmed back - will hopefully catch up tomorrow. When I get up. Wink

Mel - Sorry about losing Caroline. Sad I hope she'll help you find some one good. Jax doesn't tend to have trouble with new people, does he?

Yay for the newly potty trained (or on their way there). Miles STILL won't poop in the potty so I'm envious of those of you with LO's who will. I told him that he has to start by the end of the summer - he can't go to school not pooping in the potty. (He poops very fist thing when he wakes up, still. There are more dry days lately, but he still pees overnight too much to consider no nighttime dipe considering he's in my bed).

Colleen - Miles and I are coming to the Boston area at the end of August. Will you be around to meet up around then (not sure of dates, yet)? I have a cousin that lives in Lowell that we're going to see, I want to take him to see the Make Way for Ducklings Statue (and swan boats) and then I'm considering spending a few days on the Cape (I kind of want to go to Provincetown but I'm not sure if there's enough to keep him entertained). Any other must do's in the area?

but holy moley there is a lot to do......castle island is a great walking adventure up in boston.....in new bedford there is fort taber, it is on the beach with a huge playground and all kinds of bunkers for the kids to climb and explore......ptown is awesome......but not really kid oriented....lots of bars/boutique shops on mainstreet....there are some playgrounds right on the beach though.....coastguard beach is cool because there are ALWAYS seals to be seen.......i'm thinking of heading to that beach this weekend.....there are great little childrens museums all throughout massachusetts/ small aquariums down the cape.....the boston aquarium is awesome....and the childrens museum in boston is awesome, too.......the science museum is wicked cool, too.......up in the lowell area, the stone zoo.....awesome.....in the boston area the franklin park zoo........just walking the cape cod canal over to mass maritime is an awesomely free event........all the boats that go through the canal, barges, tugs,yachts.......it is so cool....then you can get up close and personal with atug over at mass maritime.....i could keep going.......just let me know the dates when your coming....if i can get away, i will.....end of august is kinda crazy, parents leaving, field hockey starts aug.23rd, school shopping....gah......LOL......sorry for the ramble....

Oi Candace, I hope your ILs don't drive you bananas! 99...wow, that's seriously impressive! Have fun at the beach. Sorry that DH can't go...that sucks!

I am seriously tired. This coffee withdrawl stuff is no small potatoes. But, TMI, I haven't had diarrhea all day...first day since April. Thank goodness Wink DH is taking the kids to the neighbourhood splash pad...its almost 40 outside today and lots of humidity. I love spring and fall but am not such a huge fan of summer. I can do without the super heat! I am not looking forward to fininshing the install on the bathtub tonight, but the good news is that I figured out what the problem is...the previous owner didn't install the old one properly so I've got to go back and fix the framing tonight and then put the tub in again. I'm glad I figured it out, it was driving me nuts that I took a 60" tub out, and tried to put another one it, and it wouldn't fit correctly and wasn't level. Old owners put drywall between the tub and the studs...and since I tore that mouldy stuff out, the space is now to big. Sigh. Fun night to swing a hammer! I hope to be able to bath the kids in the tub by the end of the weekend...even if I don't have the tiles done. They have been having backyard pool baths...but they don't like it and I'm pretty sure the neighbours think I'm torturing my kids Wink

Sigh....back to work.

i'm taking the kids to the pond after jack wakes up.......i got all the laundry done, floors are cleaned, and my house is ready to be closed up with the a/c on for the next 4 days of oppressive heat that is supposed to be slamming us....i'd rather be preparing for a blizzard....LOL.......i got my workout in, which about kicked my butt.......i'm exhausted and want to go for a swim with my littles(which are not so little anymore....LOL)

I'm busy Tryin to find ways not to mow the lawn. I've been trying to nap but since we're leaving for mo tomorrow and my van is being grumpy I can't turn my brain off to sleep. This is why I usually end up having a drink the night before we leave, helps me sleep. We still haven't gotten the top carrier from storage, dh has to put some wiring on one of the DVD players in the van so it'll stop whining, he has the EGR valve to clean (if you saw my fb, you saw me complain about a $200 repair). The kids clothes and mine are mostly packed. Dh, not so much. Boys. I shoulda just packed him 5 pirates shirts and shorts. I need to organize snacks and drinks and mow the lawn. Illprob do it after I pick her highness up after preschool.

Starting Zyrtec for both kids tonight to combat any allergies to my parents house. We won't be there til
Sunday so that should give it time to take effect.

Ruth, HUGE HUGS

Kat, Abby is that sassy and pigheaded as well. I'm trying to curb the sassiness. The girl was in time out 12 times yesterday for being lippy with me. 12 times. She is only 2 and talks to me in a tone that you would expect out of a 4 year old. Hmmm, wonder where she picked that up.

I'm not ignoring the questions about SLP's, there is a lot to explain and I have to wrap my brain around it first. My brain HURTS.

Got up this morning and showered, got dressed, dressed the kids. Abby looked stinking adorable in her pearl lap, skye knot top and carnival shorties. Jax had on Boden, a big scary mean shark and blue camo cargo shorts. We stopped at daddy's work, went to Kroger, went to Sams, went to CVS and JUST got home 6 hours later. But, we had lunch at the food court in Sam's because when we were ready to check out it was POURING, after a salty buttered pretzel and a hot fudge sundae and a slurpee and a diet coke (for me) I was sick of waiting it out. It calmed a bit from a torrential downpour to a hard rain and I said 'well, kids, it's just water, are you ready to get wet?' Of course they squealed and laughed the entire wasy through the parking lot, and of course I parked in the back 40.

Kerri, I'd kill for a $200 repair bill. Every stinking time I've ever had a vehicle in for a repair it's always been major topping 600 bones.

Yall are so productive. I've been on my feet most of this week which has exhausted me, and I've barely made a dent in my mess. But, I'm about to put my last load in the washer!!! It has been AGES since I've had everything clean. AGES. Maybe Mel inspired me. Smile

Speaking of, where are you, Mel?

The highlight of my day - I bought a little dress of Addicts for $10 and it is SO cute!!!! It isn't MJ...was a namebrand called Pink Sugar but it is so adorable. I'm sure I'll take a picture after nap time.

I did vacuum and mop the kitchen floor, folded tons of clothes, changed the sheets...got the towels and sheets packed for the trip and pulled a bunch of other stuff out and it is in piles. Gonna try to start getting it in bags. I need to be organized since we are going to two different destinations.

DH is gonna drive down separate from us (but at the same time) when we go tomorrow morning - he'll stay Saturday and Sunday night - get up very early Monday a.m. and drive back to work for Monday, Tuesday and 1/2 or whole day on Wednesday...be with us Wed night, Thursday and then Friday we'll leave for the mountains. We'll drop one of the cars and some of the luggage somewhere along the way (not at home, because it isn't on the way). Then we'll be in 1 car again for the trip for the birthday party...coming back late Sunday.

Kerri, hope the Zyrtec works for your kids!

Speaking of, I'll ask on FB - but all three of my kids broke out from sunscreen last week...they are just now getting over it and I need to try something new...and probably won't be able to find it since I've waited until the last minute.

Ruth, are you feeling better today?

Colleen, God bless you and your exercise. Lifting my fork to my plate is about all the exercise I get. Blah.

Hello ladies!

We leave for camping at 4pm.. kids are napping and I am packing the car.. DH got stuck in a meeting till 4 so once again it's all on me to get everything done. Owen did so good at swimming this week I paid for another week Smile
my mom is crazy, more on that later..
Anyways I am just wiped out trying to get everything done and packed and not forget something vital.. this time we are in the redwoods .. and it's no treck to get supplies .. so I need to remember everything!

6 hours of errands Mel! are you kids not napping?
Candace let's see the dress!

Hope you all have a fanatatic weekend. I am SO going home half an hour early. Call me a rebel Wink I promise to try to get some vacy pics off DH's phone this weekend to add to the Thursday picture thread. The only ones on my phone are the kids playing naked in the sprinkler, lol. Little kids I mean....not the bigs ;0)
