So I thought here would be the best place to ask, since y'all are seasoned professionals, lol!
Baby Lois was two months old yesterday (born on Christmas!), and she's been constantly congested for the past three weeks. I took her to the doctor for the first time about three weeks ago, they tested her for RSV, which was neg, and they told me to keep an eye on her. She never had a fever, never seemed to get worse, but never improved either.
Then, last Thursday, she sounded like she had developed a wheeze. I took her back, and they doctor confirmed she was wheezing, told me to start nebulizer treatments and keep and eye on her. She's still wheezing today, and we're doing the nedbulizer about 2-3x a day.
She does have reflux -- pretty bad. She projectile vomits at least once a day, and dribbles all day long. I know congestion, even wheezing can be a symptom of reflux. She's now on 1 ml of zantac, 2x day.
I seems to remember some other Blossom mamas having similar issues with babies. Any advice? Should I take her back in to the dr? She is still congested...is it okay for her to be chronically congested? It's really been worrying me, esp since she's developed a wheeze.
Other than this, she's doing well. She's a butterball...almost 13 lbs! So the reflux isn't having an effect on her weight gain at least...I just worry that there's something else going on, esp since Rache has asthma. (Which, by the way, is going really well. He's actually OFF his daily meds and now only uses them as needed, like when he has a cold. So far, so good!) Should I be looking into taking her to a specialist? Or assume all is okay since she's gaining weight, which seems to be what the pedi thinks.
