Howdy!!

Ous was fast and furious. We left Friday afternoon with 8 inches of snow on the ground and got to moms where it hadnt done a thing. Stayed there Friday night and thru Saturday, then drove 45 miles from moms house with no snow to FILs house that also had 8 inches of snow on the ground. Had Christmas eve with GrannyIL and aunts, unlces, and cousins......spent the night with FIL, got up for Santa, packed up again and drove an hour and a half to spend some time with MIL and BIL, SIL and new nephew.....then got home at midnight last night on snow packed, icy roads.....

MIL was throwing a fit because she didnt get her way and was pouting and it was so stressful....Next year it is on a Tuesday so more than likely we will stay at our own house.......what a trip.

Kids got an Xbox Kinect from MIL and her hubby.....

Zack, Wyatt, and DH got Rangers World Series shirts with a schedule to pick a game they want to see and they will get them tickets and fly them out (or drive).

I got some money to help with the new furniture (which I am hoping to get set up and photos to you all this week) and an IPAD!!!!! I was totally shocked........really really shocked.

And of course tons of new clothes from all, which were so needed for Zack and Wyatt as they needed them so bad. Tons of new toys as well. I see tons of clean out this next week...LOL

I will add some photos tomorrow....today I had to feed the cows because they ate all of the big round bale we left for them Friday morn. And I rested....wow, that was a crazy, fun, stressful weekend.....

Anxious to hear about ya'lls holiday!!!

Sounds like a good day Kristi, glad you guys got home safe!!!

We had Christmas day here, drama with MIL over that. Drama with my Dad's wife over her gifts. I learned that more people than I thought are selfish and self centered, a great lesson for Christmas, eh!

The kids had a blast, it was amazing watching Colby walk down the stairs to see all the presents under the tree. He opened a ton, helped Daphne unwrap hers, I made a big breakfast and then we continued to unwrap.

Colby got his Converse lace up shoes, Mickey watch, lots of trucks, match box car stuff, games, other stuff I can't remember lol. Daphne got a lot of baby type toys that Colby never liked at her age, but he really loves to mess around with now lol!

I got diamond princess cut earrings from DH early.

All in all it was a good Christmas, but next year will be WAY different, I'm putting my foot down that the day is about the small children we have, not where we spend it, what we eat, who gets who what as a present, or anything else that adults should know better about. Got a year to prime everyone lol!

I'll give it a thumbs sideways overall, I suppose.

It was AWESOME to see Miles so excited about everything. He ripped through presents like a madman, but he was SO excited about everything!! He got his Toy Story County Landfill from Santa which he was thrilled by!! He also got a Transformers Prime Fire Station and some Rescue Bots and the Mega Rig Shark Ship and some Rescue Hero action figures. Those were the biggest hits and he seems to be rotation around those things.

I got many bags, lol. A Vera Bradley purse, a HUGE LL Bean bag, another normal sized bag (from Pottery Barn but like LL Bean bags), a smaller purse, wallet, and a cosmetic bag, lol.

I also got one of those special soft mats for standing on in the kitchen (supposedly what professional chef's use!) - it's super soft, so much nicer than standing on my hard tile floor! The things that become exciting when you're old, right?

My Mom got me some coin jewelery, a bracelet with a Franc on it and a necklace with a 2 pence piece. She was super excited about them. They're cool, but I don't wear much jewlery. Like...ever.

Oh, and I did break down and get myself birthstone rings but I ended up finding $30 ones online so I got my birthstone and Miles's birthstone for $60. I'll save for the actual real stone ones maybe next year.

I think Xmas would've been great would it not have been for family, lol. Will update on that drama later but I'm outta milk so must run to the store now (plus, keeping this thread cheery)!

Kristi, that is awesome that you got an iPad. Was that from DH? Sounds like you did as much crazy traveling as us. Did it wipe you out? I'm still exhausted from the stupid car.

Jules, I found it adorable to see Jax 'help' his sister unwrap her gifts. First it was showing her how and trying to get her to do it herself and that quickly proceeded to just doing it for her. Awesome score on the earrings and the sleeping in. (I saw that Wink )

Wow Em, that is alot of bags. LOL

Well, I got my camera a couple of weeks before. FINALLY.

Jax got a new engine for his Thomas set, Cars II ultra ebook and an AC adapter for his Leap Pad, a Ton of art supplies and a M&D learning set with the shoe, clock, abacus and magnetic letters, Leap Pad, an imagiNext police thingy, a set of monster trucks and Santa brought an easel and a sitNspin. He is loving everything.

Abs got a baby with a bed and a rocking horse that doubles as a stroller (stupid) It'd be cool if it was just a stroller but it's hard to push becuase the front wheels are offset. A set with an obscene amount of pretend food--125 pieces, a set of stainless pans and a set of dishes and another babydoll, M&D bake and decorate cookie set, and Santa brought a kitchen. She is loving the M&D cookies and the kitchen.

Did a whirlwind trip to MI, left 5am Wed and got home 10pm Friday. Learned that there are certain people in my family (ahem TweedleDum) that we should just NOT bother to waste our time visiting because the 2 hours that we drove out of our way for just wasn't good enough for them.

We had a rough Christmas... I managed to catch the plague and was as sick as a dog.

We had DH's family out from Saskatchewan... which in theory is nice , but I felt so crappy .I just wanted to be left alone.
It was nice having an extra pair of hands to help wrangle the kids though.
This was the first year Harrison anticipated the opening of presents. He was thrilled that every where we went , someone gave him a gift to unwrap. Siena was on a mission to open every present she saw. Hers or not! Those two got so much stuff that I didn't bother giving them the toys I bought for them. I'll save those for a rainy day.

Merry Christmas to all of you !

i say christmas was just awesome!!!!!!!!

we skyped with my parents at night........skyped with one of my brothers in california......and that was it...oh we spent christmas eve at danny's brothers house......it was good food, we drank lots of champagne, good company, kids all just played........no issues......

i got a new coat, a purple outfit(yoga pants, pull over...LOL), a redneck payphone, and old fashioned stepstool/seat(bright red), candles from abby and jack, bracelets(from lucy) a couple shirts, sweater from sarah...an ipad, and max got me an ipad case

Sounds like some nice times for most of us!

We are having a great Christmas! Noelle got loads of stickers (which she loves) and books and a new bath towel and my friend made her an adorable skirt (and matching pants for the boys - it's so cute, I'll have to take pics). She still has a few more presents to come as we go through our 12 days of Christmas, but the biggest thing is a M&D stamp set. Honestly, she was happy with the things she got in her stocking and that could have been the end of Christmas for her, but she is definitely enjoying opening presents. The boys got lots of baby-type toys and Micah especially is loving pushing lots of cars and trucks all over the house. The biggest hit for them was an IKEA magnet crane set that they both love.

I got socks, which I desperately needed (Noelle was constantly asking me to change my socks because almost all of them had holes), and a friend gave me a book called Loving the Little Years which is really good so far (I've only read the first chapter, though lol).

My dad got a stomach bug Christmas night, although it could have been a reaction to some antibiotics he was taking. I'm seriously OVER sickness (especially the tummy variety) and really hope this is the end of it for a while!!!

Here's a pic of the kids excited about a musical snowman my parents gave them. Bummed that Noelle wasn't in focus, but it's still pretty cute.

Where are everyone's pictures?!

Christmas Eve we went to my grandma's house and had dinner.

Christmas morning we did the Santa thing. We don't wrap Santa gifts, we just lay it all out for the kids. Cadence was more into it than the younger two. Ella was most excited about the gummies. That is all she kept asking for. I let her have 4 packs in about a 20 minute time span.

My parents' house from 9:30-11:00

ILs from 11:30-2:30 (brunch)

Home to nap from 2:30-4:30

Then to DH's grandma's from 5:30-7:00

Then back by my parents from about 7:30-8:30pm

The kids got absolutely WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too much stuff. I didn't even give them half the stuff I bought for them because I knew they would get too much. Now I have a closet full of M&D stuff, Disney movies and those FurReal pet things that I need to take back. Actually, saving the M&D stuff and movies for later. Maybe Easter? Taking the pet things back.

The girls probably got close to 20 dolls (not an exaggeration) between the two of them. And I am guilty of buying most of them. MUST clean house.

But anyway, I got lots of nice stuff...nothing in particular... new blinds for the house (installed the week before Christmas/sheets/down pillows/ shoes/some clothes/ a camera strap...interestingly, no new camera lens which was the only thing I asked for from dh (and didn't ask for from anybody else because I was sure he was gonna get it for me). My mom and grandma gave me some money though, so think I will buy it with that money. Maybe. Smile DH got me earrings instead...two silver pairs and some real pearls, so that was sweet.

I shouldn't complain. SO blessed. Anyway, here are some pictures...there are close to 100...I'll probably put them on FB at some point...no energy right now.

Just click on the picture of the tree to see the rest of them:

We had a great Christmas here too.

On Christmas Eve we went to the IL's, they do no meat on Christmas Eve and do the Feast of the Seven Fish so MIL cooks this huge meal and we ate and did WAY too many presents there including lots of trains, blocks, Leapfrog toys and trucks for W, a Diego animal rescue center, legos and a few Explorer games for N and a Wii Mario Cart game and an inflatable race car for them to sit in to play it for them to share.

Home for Nicholas to yell at us that we needed to get to bed so Santa could come. He was in bed and heard us in the living room and literally yelled at us to go to bed, silly boy Smile

Christmas morning we did here and, again, the kids got WAY too much stuff. I thought I was doing good by starting my shopping early, the problem was I just ended up with more than I should have. The boys got one if those power wheel police car things to share (from the IL's, it was just too big to give them on Christmas Eve since we'd have to bring it back to our house), the giant Imaginarium fire station and police station (from Santa) to share, Legos (N) and Duplos (W), cars and trucks, a golf set, M&D games and crafts, N got the Leapster Explorer, W got train tracks and trains and the list goes on and on and on...

We had a nice breakfast and the boys got to break into a few of their gifts and then we headed to church.

After church we went to my parents house and did Christmas there. My parents have listened to us and really scaled back the gifts, the kids got these http://www.bellalunatoys.com/kids-decor-waldorf-furniture/waldorf-playstands/play-stands.html Waldorf play stands, a friend of Nicholas has them and he loves building forts out of them, my dad loves to build stuff so I showed him and he decided to make them. They are awesome and the boys LOVe it, now I just have to figure out where to keep them since I can't have a fort in my living room forever. They also got a few M&D puzzles and crafts from my parents and my grandma. It was a nice time over there though Smile

I got DH a watch and some picture stuff of the boys for his office and he got me our engagement picture (from 8 years ago) finally matted and framed like i have been wanting to do forever and keep putting off as well as some earrings and a food processor I wanted.

It was a really nice holiday, exhausting, but nice. we took yesterday to recover and organize, but it was a really nice day Smile

To be honest, I won't be able to post pics until next week...when DH goes back to work. It takes so long, and even though we are supposed to be lounging around doing whatever we want, the computer is where he watches rugby.

It was a great Christmas, though. I got the KitchenAid stand mixer I wanted and a huge crockpot that was also on my wish list. And my necklace that was four years in the making (actually took less than a week in the end, lol) was ready a week before Christmas - so far I have worn it once to the theatre, and the pendant at Christmas dinner (couldn't quite bring myself to wear pearls with slippers, lol).

Our Christmas was great. I'll add pics later since I haven't uploaded them yet. We had Christmas Eve with DH's family at our house. C got SPOILED as usual. We did Christmas morning at our house with Santa gifts and exchanged gifts with the three of us. I got a waffle maker and snowman charm for my pandora bracelet from DH and C. BIL drew my name and got me Viva La Juicy perfume I wanted.

My mom got me some Clarks shoes and moccasins I wanted. My dad and step mom got me a new step stool, cheese slicer, kitchen shears (all which I asked for) and then they got us a set of 4 folding chairs and a 6' banquet table that folds in half. We never have enough tables and chairs when we have parties at our house so that will be great!

Our Christmas was okay. The kids got lots of toys and I am thankful that I got to spend it with my family. I got some shirts and a VS giftcard from my mom (wootwoot a new bra!!) but I didn't get anything from DH. I told him I wanted to save our money so maybe sometime next year I can finally get the piano I have been wanting for the past 11 years Smile

We had a GREAT Christmas!! As some of you know I had given my mom $20 and asked her to take Lucas out to buy whatever he thought I would like. They talked about it for a couple of weeks. He first mentioned he wanted to buy me a sled but then changed his mind. Then he kept giving her colors "blue", etc. One day he told her he wanted to get me a Santa Clause cookie. So she went to Cookies by Design (to die for) and ordered one. Then he saw the JC Penny catalog and saw a $14.99 big blue, remote control monster truck. He told her "I want to get this for my mom." She thought whatever and put the ad with the papers. She said the next day he went through all the papers again to find the ad and told her again he wanted to buy it. The third time he just had a melt down about wanting to get it. So....I got a blue moster truck and a cookie Smile Love it!!

Also, I had asked my babysitter to make a craft with him and wrap it for me. They made 3 AWESOME ornaments. I will post pictures. THey brought tears to my eyes!

Other than those I got a body pillow, new sheets, towels, washclothes, the latest Harry Potter DVD, Eclispe DVD, gift cards to Kohls, Starbucks and Design 1 (the salon I go to), cash, frames, sweater, ornaments, 3 building for my North Pole Department 56 series and some other misc stuff.

Lucas got tons but less than other years thankfully. He got the spy jet from Cars 2, a Mickey Mouse Pirate ship, a couple new Buzz Lightyears (to replace the broken ones), a couple other TS 3 characters, clothes, Cars 2 DVD, a wii game, a couple games and gift card for his leappad, slinky, flashlight, bank (save, spend, donate, invest), a bike/video game thingy, train accessories, pillow pet, sheets, etc....

We open 2 gifts on Christmas Eve...one pjs and one toy. I bought him Mickey Mouse pjs and slippers. HE LOVED THEM Smile He also got to open the jet that night. CHristmas day we opened the rest here and then went to my parents to have brunch with them, my sister and her kids and my aunt. We then hung around there all day. This coming Saturday we will have lunch with my dad's family but that's really nothing much. More social than anything. We only buy gifts for the little kids. Last year my step aunt and cousins wife each got Lucas horrible gifts...they were for 6 month olds. I know its not about gift but come on....a 2 1/2 year old!!

So nice to read about everyone's Christmas. Makes me feel a bit reconnected even though I've been mostly MIA.

For us we celebrate on Christmas Eve, and we went to my cousin's house. I am closest to my Mom's side of the family and most of them are still in the Dominican Republic. There are 6 of us cousins in the US now (out of 23), which is the largest number ever and we were all there, which was super cool!! The cousin who recently arrived has 2 young daughters that are nearly the exact same age as mine so everyone had a playmate. Though they all loved to bug the older tween cousins, too.

First the food. We typically eat rice and peas with pernil (aka lechon - roast pork). There's a lasagna mixed in there too.

Me playing with the host's alcohol collection:

Alanis and her partner in crime:

Me and Leyla and my cousin and her niece (who likes to stick her tongue out for pics):

5 of the 6 cousins (the other was in the bathroom I think when we took the shot). The three in the back are siblings and the one next to me is my cousin from both my dad and mom's side (long story!).

Our tree the next morning after Santa visited:

Gifts

Between the two girls they got a lot of clothes (especially PJs), books, a camera, a little keyboard, a train set, a small play kitchen, blabla dolls, strawberry shortcake, my little pony car, disney princess art kit, a dr. seuss board game, and 2 more dolls.

DH got a camera lens he wanted and he gave me the iPhone I've been wanting for years!! YAY.

Overall a wonderful holiday, most especially because I was able to spend quality time with so many loved ones.

Hilda!! I've missed you! I'm loving the pictures of Alanis and Leyla. I can't believe how big they're getting. So cool that you got to see your cousins! Do you ever go back to the Dominican?

Hi Kerri! Missed you too!! Doesn't it seem that we were pregnant with #2s just the other day?

As a kid I would spend my entire summers on Mom's family's farm. Her parents, 6 siblings, and all their kids all lived there together. So it was an amazing change from me since we were alone here growing up in New York City. That's how I became so close to them. During high school and college I went every other year and after I started going it turned into more like every 4 years. I haven't been since 2007, so our extensive families haven't even met the girls yet. I really was hoping to make the trip in 2012 but it gets so expensive. It's not so much the flights themselves, though that's a deterrent too since Leyla will have to pay soon. But then you have to rent a car and then you end up wanting to help so many poor relatives out.

I just did my budget for 2012 and unless we get some extra income it's almost sure we won't be able to do it, but am hoping to make it happen for the following year. Though by then Alanis will be entering Kindergarten and we'd have to work it around school. *gulp* *sniff* I can't wrap my head around that just yet.

We had a nice Christmas. We spent the day at my mils, and she did all the cooking. Biggrin I did make a rum cake, that was my contribution.
The kids got lots of goodies. Jayden is still so into Cars & Cars 2...so he got alot of Cars related toys. He loves color changing cars..the kid could spend hours at my sink changing them in hot & cold water.
Tyler & Baylie got new iphones from my parents (for Hanukkah). We celebrated with them the day after Christmas. It was another day where I didn't have to cook! Yay!
I got some much needed mula. Biggrin
All in all a pretty good holiday, no drama and everyone was happy.
